Psalms 36
1 To the chief Musician, [A Psalm] of David the servant of the LORD. The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, [that there is] no fear of God before his eyes.
Pour la fin, au serviteur du Seigneur, par David lui-même. L’impie a dit en lui-même qu’il pécherait: la crainte de Dieu n’est pas devant ses yeux.
2 For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.
Parce qu’il a agi astucieusement en sa présence, en sorte que son iniquité est trouvée digne de haine.
3 The words of his mouth [are] iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, [and] to do good.
Les paroles de sa bouche sont injustice et astuce: il n’a pas voulu s’instruire pour faire le bien.
4 He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way [that is] not good; he abhorreth not evil.
Il a médité l’iniquité sur son lit: il s’est arrêté dans toute voie qui n’était pas bonne: et la malice, il ne l’a point haïe.
5 Thy mercy, O LORD, [is] in the heavens; [and] thy faithfulness [reacheth] unto the clouds.
Seigneur, dans le ciel est votre miséricorde; et votre vérité s’élève jusqu’aux nues.
6 Thy righteousness [is] like the great mountains; thy judgments [are] a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.
Votre justice est comme les montagnes de Dieu, vos jugements sont un abîme profond. Vous sauverez, Seigneur, les hommes et les animaux,
7 How excellent [is] thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
Puisque vous avez, ô Dieu, multiplié votre miséricorde. Mais les enfants des hommes espéreront à l’abri de vos ailes.
8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
Ils seront enivrés de l’abondance de votre maison: et vous les abreuverez du torrent de vos délices.
9 For with thee [is] the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
Parce qu’en vous est une source de vie, et que dans votre lumière nous verrons la lumière.
10 O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
Étendez votre miséricorde à ceux qui vous connaissent, et votre justice à ceux qui ont le cœur droit.
11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.
Qu’un pied de superbe ne vienne pas jusqu’à moi; et qu’une main de pécheur ne m’ébranle point.
12 There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.
Là sont tombés ceux qui opèrent l’iniquité; ils ont été chassés et n’ont pu se soutenir.
