Psalms 21

1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!

【頌賜勝利的天主】 達味詩歌，交與樂官。 上主，君王因你的威能而欣喜，因你的救助狂歡而快樂無比。

2 Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. (Selah)

你滿全了他心中的渴想，沒有拒絕他口中的盼望。

3 For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.

因為你已賜給了他卓越的福寵，以純金的冠冕加在他的頭頂；

4 He asked life of thee, [and] thou gavest [it] him, [even] length of days for ever and ever.

他雖只向你乞求確保性命，你卻賜給他萬世無疆的長生。

5 His glory [is] great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.

你協助他獲得偉大的光榮，你加給他無比的榮耀與尊崇；

6 For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.

你使他成為萬世的福源，使他在你面前踴躍喜歡。

7 For the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.

君王既已全心對上主信賴，憑至高者的慈愛不再移改。

8 Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.

願你的手將你的一切仇敵搜羅，願你的右手將憎恨你的人捕捉！

9 Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.

當你顥示你尊容的時候，處置他們有如放在火爐；願上主以震怒消滅他們，讓火焰也盡情吞滅他們！

10 Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.

願你從地上滅盡他們的子女，使他們的後裔全絕跡於人世！

11 For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, [which] they are not able [to perform].

他們雖為陷害你而設計，策畫的陰謀卻無濟於事；

12 Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, [when] thou shalt make ready [thine arrows] upon thy strings against the face of them.

因為你朝他們張弓搭箭，已使他們嚇得轉身逃竄。

13 Be thou exalted, LORD, in thine own strength: [so] will we sing and praise thy power.

上主，請起來，顯示你的英勇，讓我們歌頌稱揚你的威能。
