Psalms 147
1 Praise ye the LORD: for [it is] good to sing praises unto our God; for [it is] pleasant; [and] praise is comely.
主をほめたたえよ。われらの神をほめうたうことはよいことである。主は恵みふかい。さんびはふさわしいことである。
2 The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.
主はエルサレムを築き、イスラエルの追いやられた者を集められる。
3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
主は心の打ち砕かれた者をいやし、その傷を包まれる。
4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by [their] names.
主はもろもろの星の数を定め、すべてそれに名を与えられる。
5 Great [is] our Lord, and of great power: his understanding [is] infinite.
われらの主は大いなる神、力も豊かであって、その知恵ははかりがたい。
6 The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
主はしえたげられた者をささえ、悪しき者を地に投げ捨てられる。
7 Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
主に感謝して歌え、琴にあわせてわれらの神をほめうたえ。
8 Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.
主は雲をもって天をおおい、地のために雨を備え、もろもろの山に草をはえさせ、
9 He giveth to the beast his food, [and] to the young ravens which cry.
食物を獣に与え、また鳴く小がらすに与えられる。
10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.
主は馬の力を喜ばれず、人の足をよみせられない。
11 The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
主はおのれを恐れる者とそのいつくしみを望む者とをよみせられる。
12 Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.
エルサレムよ、主をほめたたえよ。シオンよ、あなたの神をほめたたえよ。
13 For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.
主はあなたの門の貫の木を堅くし、あなたのうちにいる子らを祝福されるからである。
14 He maketh peace [in] thy borders, [and] filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.
主はあなたの国境を安らかにし、最も良い麦をもってあなたを飽かせられる。
15 He sendeth forth his commandment [upon] earth: his word runneth very swiftly.
主はその戒めを地に下される。そのみ言葉はすみやかに走る。
16 He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.
主は雪を羊の毛のように降らせ、霜を灰のようにまかれる。
17 He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?
主は氷をパンくずのように投げうたれる。だれがその寒さに耐えることができましょうか。
18 He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, [and] the waters flow.
主はみ言葉を下してこれを溶かし、その風を吹かせられると、もろもろの水は流れる。
19 He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.
主はそのみ言葉をヤコブに示し、そのもろもろの定めと、おきてとをイスラエルに示される。
20 He hath not dealt so with any nation: and [as for his] judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.
主はいずれの国民をも、このようにはあしらわれなかった。彼らは主のもろもろのおきてを知らない。主をほめたたえよ。
