Psalms 139
1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known [me].
Ein Psalm Davids, vorzusingen. HERR, du erforschest mich und kennest mich.
2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
Ich sitze oder stehe auf, so weißest du es: du verstehest meine Gedanken von ferne.
3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted [with] all my ways.
Ich gehe oder liege, so bist du um mich und siehest alle meine Wege.
4 For [there is] not a word in my tongue, [but], lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
Denn siehe, es ist kein Wort auf meiner Zunge, das du, HERR, nicht alles wissest.
5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
Du schaffest es, was ich vor oder hernach tue, und hältst deine Hand über mir.
6 [Such] knowledge [is] too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot [attain] unto it.
Solche Erkenntnis ist mir zu wunderlich und zu hoch; ich kann's nicht begreifen.
7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
Wo soll ich hingehen vor deinem Geist und wo soll ich hinfliehen vor deinem Angesicht?
8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou [art] there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou [art there]. (Sheol h7585)
Führe ich gen Himmel, so bist du da. Bettete ich mir in die Hölle, siehe, so bist du auch da. (Sheol h7585)
9 [If] I take the wings of the morning, [and] dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
Nähme ich Flügel der Morgenröte und bliebe am äußersten Meer,
10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
so würde mich doch deine Hand daselbst führen und deine Rechte mich halten.
11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
Spräche ich: Finsternis möge mich decken, so muß die Nacht auch Licht um mich sein;
12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light [are] both alike [to thee].
denn auch Finsternis nicht finster ist bei dir, und die Nacht leuchtet wie der Tag, Finsternis ist wie das Licht.
13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.
Denn du hast meine Nieren in deiner Gewalt, du warest über mir in Mutterleibe.
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully [and] wonderfully made: marvellous [are] thy works; and [that] my soul knoweth right well.
Ich danke dir darüber, daß ich wunderbarlich gemacht bin; wunderbarlich sind deine Werke, und das erkennet meine Seele wohl.
15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, [and] curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Es war dir mein Gebein nicht verhohlen, da ich im Verborgenen gemacht ward, da ich gebildet ward unten in der Erde.
16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all [my members] were written, [which] in continuance were fashioned, when [as yet there was] none of them.
Deine Augen sahen mich, da ich noch unbereitet war, und waren alle Tage auf dein Buch geschrieben, die noch werden sollten, und derselben keiner da war.
17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
Aber wie köstlich sind vor mir, Gott, deine Gedanken! Wie ist ihrer so eine große Summa!
18 [If] I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
Sollt ich sie zählen, so würde ihrer mehr sein denn des Sandes. Wenn ich aufwache, bin ich noch bei dir.
19 Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.
Ach, Gott, daß du tötetest die Gottlosen, und die Blutgierigen von mir weichen müßten!
20 For they speak against thee wickedly, [and] thine enemies take [thy name] in vain.
Denn sie reden von dir lästerlich, und deine Feinde erheben sich ohne Ursache.
21 Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?
Ich hasse ja, HERR, die dich hassen, und verdreußt mich auf sie, daß sie sich wider dich setzen.
22 I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.
Ich hasse sie in rechtem Ernst; darum sind sie mir feind.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
Erforsche mich, Gott, und erfahre mein Herz; prüfe mich und erfahre, wie ich's meine;
24 And see if [there be any] wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
und siehe, ob ich auf bösem Wege bin, und leite mich auf ewigem Wege.
