Psalms 10
1 Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? [why] hidest thou [thyself] in times of trouble?
Warum stehst Du so ferne, Herr, entziehst Dich in der Zeit der Not? -
2 The wicked in [his] pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
Gequält wird durch des Frevlers Übermut der Arme; er fängt ihn durch die Ränke, die er sich ersonnen.
3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the covetous, [whom] the LORD abhorreth.
Gejubelt hat nach Herzenslust der Frevler, Gewissenlosigkeit gepriesen und dazu den Herrn geschmäht.
4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek [after God: ] God [is] not in all his thoughts.
Der Frevler spricht in höchstem Stolz: "Man ahndet nichts; dafür gibt's keinen Gott." Bestehen bleiben alle seine Pläne.
5 His ways are always grievous; thy judgments [are] far above out of his sight: [as for] all his enemies, he puffeth at them.
Sein Weg ist stets erfolgreich, und ferne sind ihm Deine Strafgerichte; all seine Gegner höhnt er aus.
6 He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for [I shall] never [be] in adversity.
Er denkt bei sich: "Ich wanke nimmer in der Zukunft Zeit, in der kein Übel ist."
7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue [is] mischief and vanity.
Voll Meineid, Trug und Arglist ist sein Mund, und was er spricht, ist Unheil und Verderben.
8 He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.
Er liegt auf Lauer hinter Zäunen, um im Verstecke Wehrlose zu morden; nach Unglücklichen spähen seine Augen aus.
9 He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.
Er lauert im Versteck, dem Löwen gleich im Dickicht; er lauert, einen Armen zu erhaschen. Er zieht sein Netz zusanunen, hascht den Armen.
10 He croucheth, [and] humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.
Der krümmt und windet sich; doch schließlich fällt der Unglückselige in seine Klauen.
11 He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see [it].
"Gott denkt nicht dran", spricht er bei sich. "Er hat sein Angesicht verhüllt und sieht es nicht in Ewigkeit." -
12 Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.
Auf, Herr! Den Arm erhebe, Gott! Vergiß doch nicht der Elenden! -
13 Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require [it].
Was höhnt der Frevler Gott und denkt bei sich: "Du ahndest nichts"? -
14 Thou hast seen [it; ] for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite [it] with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.
Du hast's gesehn, Du schaust ja hin auf Leid und Jammer. In Deine Hände sich ergebend, auf Dich verläßt sich, wer in Not. Verwaisten bist Du ja ein Helfer.
15 Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil [man: ] seek out his wickedness [till] thou find none.
Zerbrich des Frevlers Arm; zerschmettere ihn! Wenn er nach seinem Frevel greift, dann fasse er ihn nimmermehr! -
16 The LORD [is] King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.
Der Herr sei König immer und auf ewig! Aus seinem Lande mögen fort die Heiden schwinden!
17 LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:
Den Wunsch der Elenden erhöre, Herr, und ihres Herzens Sorgen neige hin Dein Ohr,
18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.
und schaff den Waisen und Bedrängten Recht, daß sie nie mehr ein Mensch im Lande schrecke!
