Psalms 1

1 Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Heureux l’homme qui n’est pas allé au conseil des impies, qui ne s’est pas arrêté dans la voie des pécheurs, qui ne s’est pas assis dans la chaire de pestilence;

2 But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Mais dont la volonté est dans la loi du Seigneur, et qui médite cette loi le jour et la nuit.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Il sera comme l’arbre planté près des courants des eaux, qui donnera son fruit en son temps; Et sa feuille ne tombera point; et tout ce qu’il fera prospérera.

4 The ungodly [are] not so: but [are] like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

Il n’en est pas ainsi des impies; non, il n’en est pas ainsi, mais ils sont comme la poussière que le vent emporte de la face de la terre.

5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

C’est pourquoi les impies ne ressusciteront pas au jugement, ni les pécheurs dans l’assemblée des justes.

6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Parce que le Seigneur connaît la voie des justes, et la voie des impies périra.
