Proverbs 9
1 Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
೧ಜ್ಞಾನವೆಂಬಾಕೆಯು ಏಳು ಕಂಬಗಳನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು, ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾಳೆ.
2 She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.
೨ಆಕೆ ಪಶುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಯಿಸಿ ಪಾನದ್ರವ್ಯಗಳೊಡನೆ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನು ಬೆರಸಿ, ಔತಣವನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾಳೆ.
3 She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,
೩ಆಕೆಯು ತನ್ನ ದಾಸಿಯರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ, ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ರಾಜಮಾರ್ಗಗಳ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥಾನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ.
4 Whoso [is] simple, let him turn in hither: [as for] him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
೪ಆಕೆಯು ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನರಿಗೆ, “ಮೂಢನಾಗಿರುವವನು ಈ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಲಿ,
5 Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine [which] I have mingled.
೫ಬನ್ನಿರಿ, ನಾನು ಬಡಿಸುವ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಉಣ್ಣಿರಿ, ನಾನು ಬೆರೆಸಿರುವ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯಿರಿ.
6 Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
೬ಮೂಢರೇ ಮೂಢತ್ವವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬಾಳಿರಿ, ವಿವೇಕಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಟ್ಟಗೆ ನಡೆಯಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಬೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ.
7 He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked [man getteth] himself a blot.
೭ಧರ್ಮನಿಂದಕನನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸುವವನು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಅವಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು, ಕೆಟ್ಟವನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸುವವನಿಗೇ ಕಳಂಕವಾಗುವುದು.
8 Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
೮ಧರ್ಮನಿಂದಕನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸಬೇಡ, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡುವನು. ಜ್ಞಾನವಂತನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸಿದರೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವನು.
9 Give [instruction] to a wise [man], and he will be yet wiser: teach a just [man], and he will increase in learning.
೯ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗೆ ಉಪದೇಶಿಸಿದರೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವನು, ನೀತಿವಂತನಿಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿದರೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವನು.
10 The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy [is] understanding.
೧೦ಯೆಹೋವನ ಭಯವೇ ಜ್ಞಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಮೂಲವು, ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ದೇವರ ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯೇ ವಿವೇಕವು.
11 For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.
೧೧ನನ್ನಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ದಿನಗಳು ಹೆಚ್ಚುವವು, ನಿನ್ನ ಆಯುಷ್ಯದ ವರ್ಷಗಳು ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುವವು.
12 If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but [if] thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear [it].
೧೨ನೀನು ಜ್ಞಾನವಂತನಾದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ನಿನಗೇ ಲಾಭಕರ, ಧರ್ಮನಿಂದಕನಾದರೆ ನೀನೇ ಅದರ ಫಲವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುವಿ.
13 A foolish woman [is] clamorous: [she is] simple, and knoweth nothing.
೧೩ಅಜ್ಞಾನವೆಂಬವಳಾದರೋ ಕೂಗಾಟದವಳು, ಮೂಢಳು, ಏನೂ ತಿಳಿಯದವಳು.
14 For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
೧೪ಅವಳು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಬಾಗಿಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ರಾಜಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪೀಠದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡವಳಾಗಿ,
15 To call passengers who go right on their ways:
೧೫ತಮ್ಮ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು, ಹೋಗಿ ಬರುವವರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ,
16 Whoso [is] simple, let him turn in hither: and [as for] him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
೧೬“ಮೂಢನಾಗಿರುವವನು ಈ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿ,
17 Stolen waters are sweet, and bread [eaten] in secret is pleasant.
೧೭“ಕದ್ದ ನೀರು ಸಿಹಿಯಾಗಿದೆ, ಗುಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ತಿನ್ನುವ ತಿಂಡಿಯು ರುಚಿಯಾಗಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾಳೆ.
