< Proverbs 7 >
1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
Ka capa, ka thuih ih loknawk hae pakuem ah, kang paek ih loknawk to palung thungah suem ah.
2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
Kang paek ih loknawk to pakuemh loe, hing haih ah; kang patuk ih lok to na mikmu baktiah suem ah.
3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.
Na banpazung nuiah komh loe, na palung thungah tarik ah.
4 Say unto wisdom, Thou [art] my sister; and call understanding [thy] kinswoman:
Palunghahaih khaeah, Nang loe ka tanuh baktiah na oh, tiah thui ah loe, panoekhaih khaeah, Nang loe ka canawk baktiah na oh, tiah thui ah;
5 That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger [which] flattereth with her words.
to tiah na sak nahaeloe zaehaih sak koeh nongpata, minawk zoek thaih nongpata ban thung hoiah na pakaa tih.
6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,
Ka im thokbuem hoi ka khet naah ka hnuk ih hmuen loe,
7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,
poekhaih tawn ai kami rumramnawk thungah ka khet naah, thendoengnawk thungah, poekhaih tawn ai thendoeng maeto ka hnuk.
8 Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,
To kami loe nongpata ohhaih loklam im takii bang hoiah to nongpata ohhaih im bangah a caeh,
9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:
Duembang khoving, khoving qum taning tue phak naah loe,
10 And, behold, there met him a woman [with] the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.
khenah, tangzat zaw khukbuen angkhuk, minawk kazoek thaih nongpata loe anih hnuk hanah angzoh.
11 (She [is] loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:
To nongpata loe palungthah moe, lok doeh ho parai; anih loe angmah ih im ah doeh om vai ai.
12 Now [is she] without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)
Anih loe tasa bangah tacawt moe, kami angpophaih loklam, lam takii kruekah minawk to a zing.
13 So she caught him, and kissed him, [and] with an impudent face said unto him,
To nongpata mah anih to naeh moe, a mok; azathaih mikhmai tawn ai ah anih khaeah,
14 [I have] peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.
misa angdaeh angbawnhaih sak han ka tawnh; vaihniah lokkamhaih ka koepsak boeh.
15 Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.
To pongah nang hnuk hanah kang zoh, palung tang hoi nang to kang pakrong, vaihi loe kang hnuk boeh.
16 I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved [works], with fine linen of Egypt.
Rong congca kaom Izip prae ih, puu kahni hoiah ka iihhaih ahmuen to ka khuk het boeh.
17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
Hmuihoih tui myrrh, aloe, cinnamon hoiah iihkhun to ka bawh boeh.
18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.
Angzo ah, khawnbang khodai khoek to amlunghaih hoiah angkom hoi si; amlunghaih hoiah kanawm acaeng hoi si!
19 For the goodman [is] not at home, he is gone a long journey:
Ka sava loe im ah om ai, angthla parai kholong ah a caeh ving.
20 He hath taken a bag of money with him, [and] will come home at the day appointed.
Anih loe phoisa tabu koi mongah phoisa to pacaeng pongah, khrah akoep ai karoek to im ah amlaem mak ai, tiah a naa.
21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.
Lokthuih kophaih hoiah anih to a zoek moe, kanaem lok hoiah anih to pazawk.
22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;
Anih loe boh hanah hoih ih maitaw, thaang kacawh tasuk baktiah to nongpata hnukah bang roep;
23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it [is] for his life.
anih loe panoekhaih tamsi pongah, palaa mah anih ih pathin to kaat ai karoek to, dongh pongah kaman tavaa baktiah a hinghaih to boengsak.
24 Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.
To pongah ka caanawk, ka lok to tahngai oh loe, ka thuih ih lok to pakuem oh.
25 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.
To nongpata hnukah na poekhaih caeh o sak hmah loe, to nongpata ih loklam doeh pazui o hmah.
26 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong [men] have been slain by her.
Anih mah kami paroeai amtimsak boeh; ue, paroeai thacak kaminawk doeh anih mah hum boeh.
27 Her house [is] the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death. (Sheol )
Anih ih im loe hell caehhaih manglai lam ah oh moe, duekhaih imthung ah akun tathuk. (Sheol )
