Proverbs 30
1 The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, [even] the prophecy: the man spake unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal,
೧ದೈವೋಕ್ತಿ. ಯಾಕೆ ಎಂಬುವವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಆಗೂರನ ಮಾತುಗಳು. ಇವನು ಇಥಿಯೇಲನಿಗೆ, ಇಥಿಯೇಲನಿಗೂ ಉಕ್ಕಾಲನಿಗೂ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
2 Surely I [am] more brutish than [any] man, and have not the understanding of a man.
೨ಮನುಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನಂಥ ಪಶುಪ್ರಾಯನು ಇಲ್ಲವಷ್ಟೆ, ಮಾನುಷ ವಿವೇಕವು ನನಗಿಲ್ಲ.
3 I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy.
೩ನಾನು ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿಲ್ಲ, ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧನ ವಿಷಯವಾದ ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿಲ್ಲ.
4 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what [is] his name, and what [is] his son’s name, if thou canst tell?
೪ಆಕಾಶಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿ ಇಳಿದಿರುವವನಾರು? ಮುಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿರುವವರು ಯಾರು? ತನ್ನ ಬಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರನ್ನು ಮೂಟೆಕಟ್ಟಿರುವವರು ಯಾರು? ಭೂಮಿಯ ಎಲ್ಲೆಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿರುವವರು ಯಾರು? ಅವನ ಹೆಸರೇನು? ಅವನ ಮಗನ ಹೆಸರೇನು? ನೀನೇ ಬಲ್ಲವನು.
5 Every word of God [is] pure: he [is] a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
೫ದೇವರ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಮಾತು ಶುದ್ಧವಾದದ್ದು, ಆತನು ಶರಣಾಗತರಿಗೆ ಗುರಾಣಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
೬ಆತನ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಗೆ ಯಾವುದನ್ನೂ ಸೇರಿಸಬೇಡ, ಆತನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಖಂಡಿಸುವಾಗ ನೀನು ಸುಳ್ಳುಗಾರನೆಂದು ತೋರಿಬಂದೀಯೆ.
7 Two [things] have I required of thee; deny me [them] not before I die:
೭ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಎರಡು ವರಗಳನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸದಿರಬೇಡ, ನಾನು ಸಾಯುವುದರೊಳಗಾಗಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಗೂಡಿಸು.
8 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:
೮ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಕಪಟವನ್ನೂ, ಸುಳ್ಳುಮಾತನ್ನೂ ತೊಲಗಿಸು, ಬಡತನವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಕೊಡದೆ ನನಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಷ್ಟು ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಭೋಜನಮಾಡಿಸು.
9 Lest I be full, and deny [thee], and say, Who [is] the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God [in vain].
೯ಹಾಗಾಗದೆ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆತುಂಬಿದವನಾದರೆ, “ಯೆಹೋವನು ಯಾರೋ?” ಎಂದು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸೇನು, ಬಡವನಾದರೆ ಕಳ್ಳತನಮಾಡಿ ನನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಅಯೋಗ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಎತ್ತೆನು.
10 Accuse not a servant unto his master, lest he curse thee, and thou be found guilty.
೧೦ಆಳಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ದಣಿಗೆ ದೂರನ್ನು ಹೇಳಬೇಡ, ಅವನು ಶಪಿಸಾನು, ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲೇ ದೋಷವು ಕಂಡು ಬಂದೀತು.
11 [There is] a generation [that] curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
೧೧ತಾಯಿಗೆ ಶುಭವನ್ನು ಕೋರದೆ, ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಶಪಿಸುವ ಒಂದು ತರದವರು ಉಂಟು.
12 [There is] a generation [that are] pure in their own eyes, and [yet] is not washed from their filthiness.
೧೨ತಮ್ಮ ಕೊಳೆಯನ್ನು ತೊಳಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ತಾವೇ ಶುದ್ಧರೆಂದು, ಎಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಬೇರೊಂದು ತರದವರು ಉಂಟು.
13 [There is] a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
೧೩ಕಣ್ಣುರೆಪ್ಪೆಗಳನ್ನೆತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು, ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಮೇಲೆ ಮೇಲೆಯೇ ನೋಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ತರದವರು ಉಂಟು.
14 [There is] a generation, whose teeth [are as] swords, and their jaw teeth [as] knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from [among] men.
೧೪ಖಡ್ಗದಂತಿರುವ ಹಲ್ಲುಗಳೂ ಕತ್ತಿಯಂತಿರುವ ಕೋರೆಗಳೂ ಉಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿ ಭೂಮಿಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಬಡವರನ್ನೂ, ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಮಧ್ಯದೊಳಗಿಂದ ದಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲದವರನ್ನೂ, ಅಗೆದು ನುಂಗಿಬಿಡುವ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ತರದವರು ಉಂಟು.
15 The horseleach hath two daughters, [crying], Give, give. There are three [things that] are never satisfied, [yea], four [things] say not, [It is] enough:
೧೫ಕೊಡು, ಕೊಡು ಅನ್ನುವ ಎರಡು ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಜಿಗಣೆಗೆ ಉಂಟು. ತೃಪ್ತಿಪಡದವುಗಳು ಮೂರು ಉಂಟು, ಹೌದು, ಸಾಕೆನ್ನದವುಗಳು ನಾಲ್ಕು ಉಂಟು.
16 The grave; and the barren womb; the earth [that] is not filled with water; and the fire [that] saith not, [It is] enough. (Sheol h7585)
೧೬ಯಾವುವೆಂದರೆ, ಪಾತಾಳ, ಹೆರದ ಗರ್ಭ, ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ತೃಪ್ತಿಪಡದ ಭೂಮಿ, ಸಾಕಾಯಿತೆಂದು ಹೇಳದ ಬೆಂಕಿ, ಇವೇ. (Sheol h7585)
17 The eye [that] mocketh at [his] father, and despiseth to obey [his] mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.
೧೭ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡಿ ತಾಯಿಯ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯನ್ನು, ಧಿಕ್ಕರಿಸುವವನ ಕಣ್ಣನ್ನು, ಹಳ್ಳಕೊಳ್ಳದ ಕಾಗೆಗಳು ಕುಕ್ಕುವವು, ರಣಹದ್ದುಗಳು ತಿಂದುಬಿಡುವವು.
18 There be three [things which] are too wonderful for me, yea, four which I know not:
೧೮ಮೂರು ವಿಷಯಗಳು ನನ್ನ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಮೀರಿವೆ, ಹೌದು, ನಾಲ್ಕನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಾರೆನು;
19 The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a serpent upon a rock; the way of a ship in the midst of the sea; and the way of a man with a maid.
೧೯ಯಾವುವೆಂದರೆ, ಆಕಾಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಹದ್ದಿನ ಹಾದಿ, ಬಂಡೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಸರ್ಪದ ಸರಣಿ, ಸಾಗರದ ನಡುವೆ ಹಡಗಿನ ಮಾರ್ಗ, ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪುರುಷನ ಪದ್ಧತಿ, ಇವೇ.
20 Such [is] the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness.
೨೦ಜಾರಳ ನಡತೆಯು ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಸರಿ, ಅವಳು ತಿಂದು ಬಾಯಿ ಒರೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು, “ನಾನು ತಪ್ಪುಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲವೆ” ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಳು.
21 For three [things] the earth is disquieted, and for four [which] it cannot bear:
೨೧ಮೂರರ ಭಾರದಿಂದ ಭೂಮಿಯು ಕಂಪಿಸುತ್ತದೆ, ಹೌದು, ನಾಲ್ಕರ ಹೊರೆಯನ್ನು ತಾಳಲಾರದು.
22 For a servant when he reigneth; and a fool when he is filled with meat;
೨೨ಯಾವುವೆಂದರೆ, ಪಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ದಾಸನು, ಹೊಟ್ಟೆತುಂಬಿದ ನೀಚನು,
23 For an odious [woman] when she is married; and an handmaid that is heir to her mistress.
೨೩ಮದುವೆಯಾದ ಚಂಡಿಯು, ಸವತಿಯಾದ ತೊತ್ತು, ಇವೇ.
24 There be four [things which are] little upon the earth, but they [are] exceeding wise:
೨೪ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಧಿಕ ಜ್ಞಾನವುಳ್ಳ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಣ್ಣ ಜಂತುಗಳುಂಟು.
25 The ants [are] a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer;
೨೫ಇರುವೆಗಳು ದುರ್ಬಲಜಾತಿಯಾವಾದರೂ, ಸುಗ್ಗಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವು.
26 The conies [are but] a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks;
೨೬ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೊಲಗಳು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಜಾತಿಯಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ, ಬಂಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವು.
27 The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands;
೨೭ಮಿಡತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಅರಸನಿಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೂ ಅವೆಲ್ಲಾ ದಂಡುದಂಡಾಗಿ ಹೊರಡುವವು.
28 The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings’ palaces.
೨೮ಹಲ್ಲಿಯನ್ನು ಅಂಗೈಯಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿಯಬಹುದಾದರೂ, ಅದು ಅರಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡುವುದು.
29 There be three [things] which go well, yea, four are comely in going:
೨೯ಗಂಭೀರಾಗಮನದ ಮೂರು ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳುಂಟು, ಹೌದು, ಗಂಭೀರಗತಿಯ ನಾಲ್ಕುಂಟು.
30 A lion [which is] strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any;
೩೦ಯಾವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆದರಿ ಓರೆಯಾಗದ, ಮೃಗರಾಜನಾದ ಸಿಂಹ,
31 A greyhound; an he goat also; and a king, against whom [there is] no rising up.
೩೧ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯಿಂದ ನಡೆಯುವ ಹುಂಜ, ಹೋತವು ಸಹ, ಸೈನ್ಯಸಮೇತನಾದ ರಾಜ.
32 If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, [lay] thine hand upon thy mouth.
೩೨ನೀನು ಉಬ್ಬಿಕೊಂಡು ಮೂರ್ಖನಾಗಿ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅಥವಾ ದುರಾಲೋಚನೆಮಾಡಿದ್ದರೆ ಬಾಯಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೈಯಿಟ್ಟುಕೋ.
33 Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood: so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth strife.
೩೩ಹಾಲು ಕಡೆಯುವುದರಿಂದ ಬೆಣ್ಣೆ, ಮೂಗು ಹಿಂಡುವುದರಿಂದ ರಕ್ತ, ಕೋಪಕಲಕುವುದರಿಂದ ಜಗಳ.
