Proverbs 29
1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth [his] neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
೧ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಗದರಿಸಿದರೂ ತಗ್ಗದವನು, ಏಳದ ಹಾಗೆ ಫಕ್ಕನೆ ಮುರಿದು ಬೀಳುವನು.
2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
೨ಶಿಷ್ಟರ ವೃದ್ಧಿ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸ, ದುಷ್ಟನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆ ಜನರಿಗೆ ನರಳಾಟ.
3 Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth [his] substance.
೩ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವವನು ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಹರ್ಷಗೊಳಿಸುವನು, ವೇಶ್ಯೆಯ ಸಂಗಡಿಗನು ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
4 The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.
೪ನ್ಯಾಯಪಾಲಕನಾದ ರಾಜನು ದೇಶವನ್ನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ತರುವನು, ಅನ್ಯಾಯವಾಗಿ ತೆರಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಕಸಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ದೇಶವನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವನು.
5 A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.
೫ನೆರೆಯವನೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಂಚನೆಯ ಸವಿನುಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಆಡುವವನು, ಅವನ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗೆ ಬಲೆಯನ್ನೊಡ್ಡುವನು.
6 In the transgression of an evil man [there is] a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
೬ಕೆಟ್ಟವನ ದುರ್ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಉರುಲುಂಟು, ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನು ಉಲ್ಲಾಸಗೊಂಡು ಹರ್ಷಧ್ವನಿಗೈಯುವನು.
7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: [but] the wicked regardeth not to know [it].
೭ಶಿಷ್ಟನು ಬಡವರ ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದಿರುವನು, ದುಷ್ಟನಿಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸುವಷ್ಟು ವಿವೇಕವಿಲ್ಲ.
8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise [men] turn away wrath.
೮ಧರ್ಮನಿಂದಕರು ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿಸುವರು, ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳೋ ರೋಷಾಗ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ಆರಿಸುವರು.
9 [If] a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, [there is] no rest.
೯ಮೂರ್ಖನ ಸಂಗಡ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯು ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವಾಡುವಾಗ, ರೇಗಿದರೂ, ನಕ್ಕರೂ ಜಗಳವು ತೀರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
10 The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.
೧೦ಕೊಲೆಪಾತಕರು ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಿಸುವರು, ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಂತನ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕೂ ಹೊಂಚುಹಾಕುವರು.
11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise [man] keepeth it in till afterwards.
೧೧ಮೂಢನು ತನ್ನ ಕೋಪವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತೋರಿಸುವನು, ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ತಡೆದು ಶಮನಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
12 If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants [are] wicked.
೧೨ಸುಳ್ಳಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುವ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯ ಸೇವಕರೆಲ್ಲಾ ದುಷ್ಟರೇ.
13 The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lighteneth both their eyes.
೧೩ತಗ್ಗುವವನು, ತಗ್ಗಿಸುವವನು ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎದುರುಬದುರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಯೆಹೋವನೇ ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಳೆಕೊಟ್ಟವನು.
14 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
೧೪ಬಡವರನ್ನು ನ್ಯಾಯವಾಗಿ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆ ಮಾಡುವ ರಾಜನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವು ಶಾಶ್ವತವು.
15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left [to himself] bringeth his mother to shame.
೧೫ಬೆತ್ತ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆದರಿಕೆಗಳಿಂದ ಜ್ಞಾನವುಂಟಾಗುವುದು, ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸದೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟ ಹುಡುಗನು ತಾಯಿಯ ಮಾನವನ್ನು ಕಳೆಯುವನು.
16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.
೧೬ದುಷ್ಟರ ವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪಾಪವೃದ್ಧಿ, ಶಿಷ್ಟರೋ ಅವರ ಬೀಳುವಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕಣ್ಣಾರೆ ನೋಡುವರು.
17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.
೧೭ಮಗನನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸು, ಅವನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಂತೋಷಪಡಿಸುವನು, ಅವನೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಮೃಷ್ಟಾನ್ನವಾಗುವನು.
18 Where [there is] no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy [is] he.
೧೮ದೇವದರ್ಶನ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ನಾಶವಾಗುವರು, ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನೋ ಧನ್ಯನಾಗುವನು.
19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.
೧೯ಆಳು ಮಾತಿನಿಂದ ಮಾತ್ರ ಶಿಕ್ಷಿತನಾಗಲಾರನು, ಅವನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡರೂ ಗಮನಿಸನು.
20 Seest thou a man [that is] hasty in his words? [there is] more hope of a fool than of him.
೨೦ದುಡುಕಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವವನನ್ನು ನೋಡು, ಅಂಥವನಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಮೂಢನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ಇಡಬಹುದು.
21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become [his] son at the length.
೨೧ಆಳನ್ನು ಬಾಲ್ಯದಿಂದ ಕೋಮಲವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕಿದರೆ, ತರುವಾಯ ಅವನು ಎದುರುಬೀಳುವನು.
22 An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
೨೨ಕೋಪಿಷ್ಠನು ಜಗಳವನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸುವನು, ಕ್ರೋಧಶೀಲನು ದೋಷಭರಿತನು.
23 A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
೨೩ಗರ್ವವು ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ದೀನಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ತರುವುದು, ದೀನಮನಸ್ಸುಳ್ಳವನು ಮಾನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವನು.
24 Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth [it] not.
೨೪ಕಳ್ಳನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪಾಲುಗಾರನಾದವನು ತನಗೆ ತಾನೇ ಶತ್ರು, ಆಣೆಯಿಡುವುದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರೂ ಸುಮ್ಮನಿರುವನು.
25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
೨೫ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಭಯ ಉರುಲು, ಯೆಹೋವನ ಭರವಸ ಉದ್ಧಾರ.
26 Many seek the ruler’s favour; but [every] man’s judgment [cometh] from the LORD.
೨೬ಅನೇಕರು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಯ ಕಟಾಕ್ಷವನ್ನು ಕೋರುವರು, ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಂದಲೇ ಆಗುವುದು.
27 An unjust man [is] an abomination to the just: and [he that is] upright in the way [is] abomination to the wicked.
೨೭ಶಿಷ್ಟರಿಗೆ ದುರ್ಮಾರ್ಗಿಯು ಅಸಹ್ಯನು, ದುಷ್ಟರಿಗೆ ಸರಳಮಾರ್ಗಿಯು ಅಸಹ್ಯನು.
