Proverbs 26
1 As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool.
Якоже роса в жатву и якоже дождь в лете, тако несть безумному чести.
2 As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.
Якоже птицы отлетают и врабиеве, тако клятва суетная не найдет ни на когоже.
3 A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool’s back.
Якоже бичь коню и остен ослу, тако жезл языку законопреступну.
4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.
Не отвещай безумному по безумию его, да не подобен ему будеши:
5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.
но отвещай безумному по безумию его, да не явится мудр у себе.
6 He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, [and] drinketh damage.
От путий своих поношение творит, иже посла вестником безумным слово.
7 The legs of the lame are not equal: so [is] a parable in the mouth of fools.
Отими шествие от глезн и законопреступление от уст безумных.
8 As he that bindeth a stone in a sling, so [is] he that giveth honour to a fool.
Иже привязует камень в пращи, подобен есть дающему безумному славу.
9 [As] a thorn goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so [is] a parable in the mouth of fools.
Терния прозябают в руце пияницы, и порабощение в руце безумных.
10 The great [God] that formed all [things] both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors.
Многими волнуется всяка плоть безумных, сокрушается бо изступление их.
11 As a dog returneth to his vomit, [so] a fool returneth to his folly.
Якоже пес, егда возвратится на своя блевотины, и мерзок бывает, тако безумный своею злобою возвращься на свой грех. Есть стыд наводяй грех, и есть стыд слава и благодать.
12 Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? [there is] more hope of a fool than of him.
Видех мужа непщевавша себе мудра быти, упование же имать безумный паче его.
13 The slothful [man] saith, [There is] a lion in the way; a lion [is] in the streets.
Глаголет ленивый послан на путь: лев на путех, на стогнах же разбойницы.
14 [As] the door turneth upon his hinges, so [doth] the slothful upon his bed.
Якоже дверь обращается на пяте, тако ленивый на ложи своем.
15 The slothful hideth his hand in [his] bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth.
Скрыв ленивый руку в недро свое не возможет принести ко устом.
16 The sluggard [is] wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.
Мудрейший себе ленивый является, паче во изюбилии износящаго весть.
17 He that passeth by, [and] meddleth with strife [belonging] not to him, [is like] one that taketh a dog by the ears.
Якоже держай за ошиб пса, тако председателствуяй чуждему суду.
18 As a mad [man] who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death,
Якоже врачуемии мещут словеса на человеки, сретаяй же словом первый запнется:
19 So [is] the man [that] deceiveth his neighbour, and saith, Am not I in sport?
тако вси коварствующии над своими други: егда же увидени будут, глаголют, яко играя содеях.
20 Where no wood is, [there] the fire goeth out: so where [there is] no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.
Во мнозех древех растет огнь: а идеже несть разгневляюща, умолкает свар.
21 [As] coals [are] to burning coals, and wood to fire; so [is] a contentious man to kindle strife.
Огнище углию, и дрова огневи: муж же клеветлив в мятеж свара.
22 The words of a talebearer [are] as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
Словеса ласкателей мягка: сия же ударяют в сокровища утроб.
23 Burning lips and a wicked heart [are like] a potsherd covered with silver dross.
Сребро даемо с лестию, якоже скудель вменяемо: устне гладки сердце покрывают прискорбно.
24 He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him;
Устнама вся обещавает плачай враг, в сердцы же содевает лесть.
25 When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for [there are] seven abominations in his heart.
Аще тя молит враг велиим гласом, не веруй ему, седмь бо есть лукавствий в души его.
26 [Whose] hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the [whole] congregation.
Таяй вражду составляет лесть: открывает же своя грехи благоразумный на сонмищих.
27 Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.
Изрываяй яму искреннему впадется в ню: валяяй же камень на себе валит.
28 A lying tongue hateth [those that are] afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.
Язык лжив ненавидит истины, уста же непокровенна творят нестроение.
