< Proverbs 15 >
1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
Dwoko wach mamuol kweyo mirima, to wach makwiny jimbo ich wangʼ.
2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
Lew ngʼat mariek konyore gi rieko, to dho ngʼat mofuwo hulo gik mofuwo.
3 The eyes of the LORD [are] in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
Wenge Jehova Nyasaye ni kuonde duto, karito joricho gi joma beyo.
4 A wholesome tongue [is] a tree of life: but perverseness therein [is] a breach in the spirit.
Lep makelo ber en yath mar ngima, to lep mar miriambo omiyo chuny bedo mool.
5 A fool despiseth his father’s instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
Ngʼat mofuwo chayo kum mar wuon mare, to ngʼat mawinjo ka ikwere nyiso rieko.
6 In the house of the righteous [is] much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
Od ngʼat makare otingʼo mwandu maduongʼ, to pok mar joricho kelo nigi chandruok.
7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish [doeth] not so.
Dho jomariek lando ngʼeyo, to ngʼat mofuwo to wechene obam.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked [is] an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright [is] his delight.
Jehova Nyasaye odagi misango mar jaricho, to lamo mar ngʼat moriere tir miye mor.
9 The way of the wicked [is] an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.
Jehova Nyasaye odagi yore ngʼat marach, to ohero jogo matimo gik makare.
10 Correction [is] grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: [and] he that hateth reproof shall die.
Kum malit orito ngʼat maweyo yo, ngʼat masin kikwere biro tho.
11 Hell and destruction [are] before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men? (Sheol )
Jehova Nyasaye ongʼeyo gik moko matimore, bed ni en Tho kata Kethruok, omiyo dhano ok dipandne paro manie chunye! (Sheol )
12 A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.
Ngʼat ma jasunga dagi puonj, ok odwar mondo ongʼadne rieko gi jomariek.
13 A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
Chuny mamor miyo wangʼ bedo gi mor, to chuny mokuyo miyo dhano bedo mool.
14 The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.
Chuny mongʼeyo pogo tiend weche dwaro ngʼeyo, to dho ngʼat mofuwo chamo fuwo.
15 All the days of the afflicted [are] evil: but he that is of a merry heart [hath] a continual feast.
Ndalo duto mag ngʼat mahinyore gin thagruok, to chuny mamor ni kod mor mosiko.
16 Better [is] little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.
Ber bedo gi matin ka iluoro Jehova Nyasaye moloyo mwandu mangʼeny kod koko.
17 Better [is] a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.
Ber chamo alot kama hera nitie, moloyo chamo ringʼo machwe kama achaya nitie.
18 A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but [he that is] slow to anger appeaseth strife.
Ngʼat ma iye wangʼ piyo medo miero, to ngʼat ma terore mos kweyo dhawo.
19 The way of the slothful [man is] as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous [is] made plain.
Yor jasamuoyo olor gi kuthe, to yor ngʼat moriere tir en yo malach.
20 A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
Wuowi mariek miyo wuon mare mor, to ngʼat mofuwo chayo min mare.
21 Folly [is] joy to [him that is] destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.
Fuwo moro ngʼat maonge gi rieko, to ngʼat man-gi winjo wuotho moriere tir.
22 Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
Chenro ok chopi nikech onge puonj makare, to ka giyudo jongʼad rieko mangʼeny to gichopo.
23 A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word [spoken] in due season, how good [is it]!
Ngʼato yudo mor e dwoko mowinjore, to mano ber manade kuom wach mochopo e sa midware.
24 The way of life [is] above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath. (Sheol )
Yor ngima telo kadhi malo ni ngʼat makare, mondo ogengʼe kik odhi mwalo kar tho. (Sheol )
25 The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.
Jehova Nyasaye muko od ngʼat masungore, to orito kiep dhako ma chwore otho ma ok omul.
26 The thoughts of the wicked [are] an abomination to the LORD: but [the words] of the pure [are] pleasant words.
Jehova Nyasaye odagi paro mar joricho, to jogo ma chunygi ler miye mor.
27 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.
Ngʼat ma jawuoro kelo chandruok ne joode, to ngʼatno mamon gi asoya biro dak amingʼa.
28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.
Chuny ngʼat makare pimo dwokoge, to dho ngʼat ma timbene richo hulo gik maricho.
29 The LORD [is] far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
Jehova Nyasaye bor gi ngʼat ma timbene richo, to owinjo lamo mar ngʼat makare.
30 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: [and] a good report maketh the bones fat.
Neno mamor kelo mor ni chuny, to wach maber miyo choke bedo gi ngima.
31 The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.
Ngʼat machiko ite kikwere biro bedo thuolo e kind joma riek.
32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.
Ngʼat ma ok dew kum ochayore owuon, to ngʼat mawinjo kikwere medo winjo wach.
33 The fear of the LORD [is] the instruction of wisdom; and before honour [is] humility.
Luoro Jehova Nyasaye puonjo dhano rieko, to bedo mamuol kelo luor.
