Philippians 1
1 Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:
Pablo y Timoteo, siervos de Jesu Cristo, a todos los santos en Cristo Jesús, que están en Filipos, con los obispos, y diáconos:
2 Grace [be] unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and [from] the Lord Jesus Christ.
Gracia a vosotros, y paz de Dios nuestro Padre, y del Señor Jesu Cristo.
3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
Doy gracias a mi Dios, toda vez que me acuerdo de vosotros,
4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
Siempre en todas mis oraciones haciendo oración por todos vosotros con gozo,
5 For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;
De vuestra participación en el evangelio, desde el primer día hasta ahora:
6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform [it] until the day of Jesus Christ:
Confiando de esto mismo, es a saber, que el que comenzó en vosotros la buena obra, la perfeccionará hasta el día de Jesu Cristo:
7 Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.
Así como es justo que yo piense esto de todos vosotros, por cuanto os tengo en el corazón; puesto que así en mis prisiones, como en la defensa y confirmación del evangelio, todos vosotros sois partícipes de mi gracia.
8 For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.
Porque testigo me es Dios de como os amo a todos vosotros en las entrañas de Jesu Cristo.
9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and [in] all judgment;
Y esto pido a Dios: Que vuestro amor abunde aun más y más en ciencia y en todo conocimiento:
10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;
Para que aprobéis lo mejor, a fin de que seáis sinceros y sin ofensa para el día de Cristo:
11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
Llenos de los frutos de justicia que son por Jesu Cristo, para gloria y loor de Dios.
12 But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things [which happened] unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;
Mas quiero, hermanos, que sepáis, que las cosas concernientes a mí han contribuido más bien al adelantamiento del evangelio;
13 So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other [places];
De tal manera, que mis prisiones en Cristo se han hecho bien conocidas en todo el palacio, y en todos los demás lugares;
14 And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.
Y los más de los hermanos en el Señor, tomando ánimo con mis prisiones, osan más atrevidamente hablar la palabra sin temor.
15 Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:
Algunos, a la verdad, aun por envidia y porfía predican a Cristo; mas otros también de buena voluntad:
16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:
Aquellos por contención anuncian a Cristo, no sinceramente, pensando añadir mayor apretura a mis prisiones:
17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.
Mas estos por amor, sabiendo que yo he sido puesto por defensa del evangelio.
18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.
¿Qué hay pues? Esto no obstante, de todas maneras, o por pretexto o por verdad, Cristo es anunciado; y en esto me huelgo, y aun me holgaré.
19 For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
Porque sé que esto se me tornará a salud por vuestra oración, y por el suplimiento del Espíritu de Jesu Cristo.
20 According to my earnest expectation and [my] hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but [that] with all boldness, as always, [so] now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether [it be] by life, or by death.
Conforme a mi deseo y esperanza, que en nada seré confundido; antes que con toda confianza, como siempre, así ahora también será engrandecido Cristo en mi cuerpo, o por vida, o por muerte.
21 For to me to live [is] Christ, and to die [is] gain.
Porque para mí el vivir es Cristo, y el morir es ganancia.
22 But if I live in the flesh, this [is] the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.
Mas, si viviere en la carne, esto me da fruto de trabajo; sin embargo lo que escogeré, yo no lo sé;
23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:
Porque por ambas partes estoy puesto en estrecho, teniendo deseo de partir, y estar con Cristo, que es mucho mejor:
24 Nevertheless to abide in the flesh [is] more needful for you.
Mas el quedar en la carne, es más necesario por causa de vosotros.
25 And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;
Y confiando en esto, sé que quedaré, y permaneceré con todos vosotros, para vuestro provecho, y gozo en la fe.
26 That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.
Para que abunde más en Jesu Cristo el motivo de vuestra gloria en mí, por mi venida otra vez a vosotros.
27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
Solamente que vuestro proceder sea digno del evangelio de Cristo; para que, o sea que venga y os vea, o que esté ausente, oiga de vosotros, que estáis firmes en un mismo espíritu, con un mismo ánimo combatiendo juntamente por la fe del evangelio;
28 And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.
Y en nada espantados de los que se oponen, lo cual para ellos ciertamente es indicio de perdición, mas para vosotros de salud, y esto de Dios.
29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;
Porque a vosotros os es concedido en nombre de Cristo no solo que creáis en él, sino también que padezcáis por él.
30 Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear [to be] in me.
Teniendo en vosotros la misma lucha que habéis visto en mí, y ahora oís estar en mí.
