Numbers 8
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Yahvé habló con Moisés, diciendo:
2 Speak unto Aaron, and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the candlestick.
“Habla a Aarón y dile: Coloca las siete lámparas de tal manera que despidan su luz hacia la parte frontal del candelabro.”
3 And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the candlestick, as the LORD commanded Moses.
Así lo hizo Aarón; colocó las lámparas de tal manera que miraban hacia la parte frontal del candelabro, así como Yahvé había ordenado a Moisés.
4 And this work of the candlestick [was of] beaten gold, unto the shaft thereof, unto the flowers thereof, [was] beaten work: according unto the pattern which the LORD had shewed Moses, so he made the candlestick.
El candelabro era hecho de oro labrado a martillo; tanto su pie como sus flores eran labrados a martillo. Moisés lo había hecho conforme al modelo que Yahvé le había mostrado.
5 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Habló Yahvé a Moisés, diciendo:
6 Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.
“Toma a los levitas de en medio de los hijos de Israel y purifícalos.
7 And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and [so] make themselves clean.
Los purificarás de esta manera: Harás sobre ellos una aspersión con agua expiatoria; luego pasen ellos la navaja por todo su cuerpo, laven sus vestidos y purifíquense;
8 Then let them take a young bullock with his meat offering, [even] fine flour mingled with oil, and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin offering.
y tomarán un novillo con su ofrenda de flor de harina amasada con aceite; tú, entretanto, tomarás otro novillo para el sacrificio por el pecado.
9 And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole assembly of the children of Israel together:
Después mandarás que se presenten los levitas ante el Tabernáculo de la Reunión, donde reunirás a toda la Congregación de los hijos de Israel.
10 And thou shalt bring the Levites before the LORD: and the children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites:
“Cuando presentes a los levitas ante Yahvé, impondrán los hijos de Israel sus manos sobre los levitas;
11 And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD [for] an offering of the children of Israel, that they may execute the service of the LORD.
y Aarón ofrecerá a los levitas como ofrenda mecida ante Yahvé de parte de los hijos de Israel, y así serán iniciados en el servicio de Yahvé;
12 And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks: and thou shalt offer the one [for] a sin offering, and the other [for] a burnt offering, unto the LORD, to make an atonement for the Levites.
Luego los levitas pondrán sus manos sobre la cabeza de los novillos, que tú ofrecerás, uno en sacrificio por el pecado, y el otro en holocausto a Yahvé, para hacer expiación por los levitas.
13 And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them [for] an offering unto the LORD.
Harás que los levitas estén en pie delante de Aarón y sus hijos, y los ofrecerás como ofrenda mecida a Yahvé.
14 Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine.
De esta manera separarás a los levitas de en medio de los hijos de Israel, y serán míos.
15 And after that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt cleanse them, and offer them [for] an offering.
Hecho esto, los levitas empezarán a servir en el Tabernáculo de la Reunión. Así los purificarás, y los ofrecerás como ofrenda mecida;
16 For they [are] wholly given unto me from among the children of Israel; instead of such as open every womb, [even instead of] the firstborn of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto me.
porque me han sido donados y entregados por los hijos de Israel. Yo los he tomado para Mí en lugar de todos los que abren la matriz, en lugar de todos los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel.
17 For all the firstborn of the children of Israel [are] mine, [both] man and beast: on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.
Pues míos son todos los primogénitos de entre los hijos de Israel, tanto de hombres como de animales. El día en que herí a todo primogénito en la tierra de Egipto, los consagre para Mí.
18 And I have taken the Levites for all the firstborn of the children of Israel.
He tomado a los levitas como sustitutos de todos los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel.
19 And I have given the Levites [as] a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary.
Y he donado los levitas enteramente a Aarón y a sus hijos, de en medio de los hijos de Israel, para que hagan el servicio de los hijos de Israel en el Tabernáculo de la Reunión y la expiación de los hijos de Israel, a fin de que los hijos de Israel no sean castigados por acercarse al Santuario.”
20 And Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, did to the Levites according unto all that the LORD commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did the children of Israel unto them.
Moisés y Aarón y toda la Congregación de los hijos de Israel hicieron así con los levitas. Todo cuanto Yahvé había mandado a Moisés, respecto de los levitas, así hicieron con ellos los hijos de Israel.
21 And the Levites were purified, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them [as] an offering before the LORD; and Aaron made an atonement for them to cleanse them.
Se purificaron, pues, los levitas y lavaron sus vestidos; y Aarón los ofreció en ofrenda mecida ante Yahvé e hizo expiación por ellos para purificarlos.
22 And after that went the Levites in to do their service in the tabernacle of the congregation before Aaron, and before his sons: as the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did they unto them.
Después de esto entraron los levitas en el servicio del Tabernáculo de la Reunión, a las órdenes de Aarón y sus hijos. Como Yahvé había mandado a Moisés con respecto a los levitas, así hicieron con ellos.
23 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Habló Yahvé a Moisés, diciendo:
24 This [is it] that [belongeth] unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service of the tabernacle of the congregation:
“Esto es lo que ha de hacer el levita: Desde los veinte y cinco años para arriba empezará a ejercer su función en el servicio del Tabernáculo de la Reunión;
25 And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the service [thereof], and shall serve no more:
y a los cincuenta dejará de ejercer su función, y no prestará más servicio.
26 But shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charge.
Podrá todavía ayudar a sus hermanos en el Tabernáculo de la Reunión, ejerciendo una u otra función, pero no hará más servicio. Así harás con los levitas en cuanto a sus funciones.”
