Numbers 35
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan [near] Jericho, saying,
E falou o SENHOR a Moisés nos campos de Moabe, junto ao Jordão de Jericó, dizendo:
2 Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and ye shall give [also] unto the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them.
Manda aos filhos de Israel, que deem aos levitas da possessão de sua herança cidades em que habitem: Também dareis aos levitas campos de essas cidades ao redor delas.
3 And the cities shall they have to dwell in; and the suburbs of them shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their beasts.
E terão eles as cidades para habitar, e os campos delas serão para seus animais, e para seus gados, e para todos seus animais.
4 And the suburbs of the cities, which ye shall give unto the Levites, [shall reach] from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits round about.
E os campos das cidades que dareis aos levitas, serão mil côvados ao redor, desde o muro da cidade para fora.
5 And ye shall measure from without the city on the east side two thousand cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits; and the city [shall be] in the midst: this shall be to them the suburbs of the cities.
Logo medireis fora da cidade à parte do oriente dois mil côvados, e à parte do sul dois mil côvados, e à parte do ocidente dois mil côvados, e à parte do norte dois mil côvados, e a cidade em meio: isto terão pelos campos das cidades.
6 And among the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites [there shall be] six cities for refuge, which ye shall appoint for the manslayer, that he may flee thither: and to them ye shall add forty and two cities.
E das cidades que dareis aos levitas, seis cidades serão de refúgio, as quais dareis para que o homicida se acolha ali: e também destas dareis quarenta e duas cidades.
7 [So] all the cities which ye shall give to the Levites [shall be] forty and eight cities: them [shall ye give] with their suburbs.
Todas as cidades que dareis aos levitas serão quarenta e oito cidades; elas com seus campos.
8 And the cities which ye shall give [shall be] of the possession of the children of Israel: from [them that have] many ye shall give many; but from [them that have] few ye shall give few: every one shall give of his cities unto the Levites according to his inheritance which he inheriteth.
E as cidades que deres da herança dos filhos de Israel, do que muito tomareis muito, e do que pouco tomareis pouco: cada um dará de suas cidades aos levitas segundo a possessão que herdará.
9 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
E falou o SENHOR a Moisés, dizendo:
10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come over Jordan into the land of Canaan;
Fala aos filhos de Israel, e dize-lhes: Quando houverdes passado o Jordão à terra de Canaã,
11 Then ye shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you; that the slayer may flee thither, which killeth any person at unawares.
Assinalareis para vós cidades, tereis cidades de refúgio, para onde fuja o homicida que ferir a algum de morte por acidente.
12 And they shall be unto you cities for refuge from the avenger; that the manslayer die not, until he stand before the congregation in judgment.
E vos serão aquelas cidades por refúgio do parente, e não morrerá o homicida até que esteja a juízo diante da congregação.
13 And of these cities which ye shall give six cities shall ye have for refuge.
Das cidades, pois, que dareis, tereis seis cidades de refúgio.
14 Ye shall give three cities on this side Jordan, and three cities shall ye give in the land of Canaan, [which] shall be cities of refuge.
Três cidades dareis desta parte do Jordão, e três cidades dareis na terra de Canaã; as quais serão cidades de refúgio.
15 These six cities shall be a refuge, [both] for the children of Israel, and for the stranger, and for the sojourner among them: that every one that killeth any person unawares may flee thither.
Estas seis cidades serão para refúgio aos filhos de Israel, e ao peregrino, e ao que morar entre eles, para que fuja ali qualquer um que ferir de morte a outro por acidente.
16 And if he smite him with an instrument of iron, so that he die, he [is] a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.
E se com instrumento de ferro o ferir e morrer, homicida é; o homicida morrerá:
17 And if he smite him with throwing a stone, wherewith he may die, and he die, he [is] a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.
E se com pedra da mão, de que podia morrer, o ferir, e morrer, homicida é; o homicida morrerá.
18 Or [if] he smite him with an hand weapon of wood, wherewith he may die, and he die, he [is] a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.
E se com instrumento de madeira da mão, de que podia morrer, o ferir, e morrer, homicida é; o homicida morrerá.
19 The revenger of blood himself shall slay the murderer: when he meeteth him, he shall slay him.
O parente do morto, ele matará ao homicida: quando o encontrar, ele lhe matará.
20 But if he thrust him of hatred, or hurl at him by laying of wait, that he die;
E se por ódio o empurrou, ou lançou sobre ele alguma coisa por ciladas, e morre;
21 Or in enmity smite him with his hand, that he die: he that smote [him] shall surely be put to death; [for] he [is] a murderer: the revenger of blood shall slay the murderer, when he meeteth him.
Ou por inimizade o feriu com sua mão, e morreu: o feridor morrerá; é homicida; o parente do morto matará ao homicida, quando o encontrar.
22 But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or have cast upon him any thing without laying of wait,
Mas se casualmente o empurrou sem inimizades, ou lançou sobre ele qualquer instrumento sem más intenções,
23 Or with any stone, wherewith a man may die, seeing [him] not, and cast [it] upon him, that he die, and [was] not his enemy, neither sought his harm:
Ou bem, sem vê-lo, fez cair sobre ele alguma pedra, de que possa morrer, e morrer, e ele não era seu inimigo, nem procurava seu mal;
24 Then the congregation shall judge between the slayer and the revenger of blood according to these judgments:
Então a congregação julgará entre o feridor e o parente do morto conforme estas leis:
25 And the congregation shall deliver the slayer out of the hand of the revenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to the city of his refuge, whither he was fled: and he shall abide in it unto the death of the high priest, which was anointed with the holy oil.
E a congregação livrará ao homicida da mão do parente do morto, e a congregação o fará voltar à seu cidade de refúgio, à qual se havia acolhido; e morará nela até que morra o sumo sacerdote, o qual foi ungido com o azeite santo.
26 But if the slayer shall at any time come without the border of the city of his refuge, whither he was fled;
E se o homicida sair fora do termo de sua cidade de refúgio, à qual se refugiou,
27 And the revenger of blood find him without the borders of the city of his refuge, and the revenger of blood kill the slayer; he shall not be guilty of blood:
E o parente do morto lhe achar fora do termo da cidade de sua acolhida, e o parente do morto ao homicida matar, não se lhe culpará por isso:
28 Because he should have remained in the city of his refuge until the death of the high priest: but after the death of the high priest the slayer shall return into the land of his possession.
Pois em sua cidade de refúgio deverá aquele habitar até que morra o sumo sacerdote: e depois que morrer o sumo sacerdote, o homicida voltará à terra de sua possessão.
29 So these [things] shall be for a statute of judgment unto you throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
E estas coisas vos serão por ordenança de regulamento por vossas gerações, em todas as vossas habitações.
30 Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person [to cause him] to die.
Qualquer um que ferir a alguém, por dito de testemunhas, morrerá o homicida: mas uma só testemunha não fará fé contra alguma pessoa para que morra.
31 Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which [is] guilty of death: but he shall be surely put to death.
E não tomareis preço pela vida do homicida; porque está condenado a morte: mas inevitavelmente morrerá.
32 And ye shall take no satisfaction for him that is fled to the city of his refuge, that he should come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.
Nem tampouco tomareis preço do que fugiu à sua cidade de refúgio, para que volte a viver em sua terra, até que morra o sacerdote.
33 So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye [are: ] for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.
E não contaminareis a terra onde estiverdes: porque este sangue profanará a terra: e a terra não será expiada do sangue que foi derramado nela, a não ser pelo sangue do que a derramou.
34 Defile not therefore the land which ye shall inhabit, wherein I dwell: for I the LORD dwell among the children of Israel.
Não contamineis, pois, a terra onde habitais, em meio da qual eu habito; porque eu o SENHOR habito em meio dos filhos de Israel.
