Nahum 2
1 He that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face: keep the munition, watch the way, make [thy] loins strong, fortify [thy] power mightily.
Aquele que traça em pedaços se deparou com você. Guarde a fortaleza! Cuidado com o caminho! Fortaleça sua cintura! Fortifique poderosamente!
2 For the LORD hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.
Para Yahweh restaura a excelência de Jacó como a excelência de Israel, pois os destruidores os destruíram e arruinaram seus ramos de vinha.
3 The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men [are] in scarlet: the chariots [shall be] with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.
O escudo de seus poderosos homens se torna vermelho. Os homens corajosos estão em escarlate. As carruagens piscam com aço no dia de sua preparação, e as lanças de pinheiro são brandidas.
4 The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.
As carruagens se enfurecem nas ruas. Eles correm de um lado para o outro nos caminhos mais largos. Sua aparência é como tochas. Eles correm como os relâmpagos.
5 He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make haste to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared.
Ele convoca suas tropas escolhidas. Eles tropeçam em seu caminho. Eles correm para sua parede, e o escudo protetor é colocado no lugar.
6 The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.
Os portões dos rios são abertos e o palácio é dissolvido.
7 And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead [her] as with the voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts.
É decretado: ela é descoberta, ela é levada; e seus servos gemem como com a voz das pombas, batendo em seus peitos.
8 But Nineveh [is] of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, [shall they cry; ] but none shall look back.
Mas Nínive é de antigamente como uma piscina de água, mas eles fogem. “Parem! Parem!” elas choram, mas ninguém olha para trás.
9 Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for [there is] none end of the store [and] glory out of all the pleasant furniture.
Pegue a pilhagem de prata. Pegue o saque do ouro, pois não há fim do tesouro, uma abundância de cada coisa preciosa.
10 She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and much pain [is] in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.
She está vazio, vazio e desperdício. O coração derrete, os joelhos batem juntos, seus corpos e rostos ficaram pálidos.
11 Where [is] the dwelling of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion, [even] the old lion, walked, [and] the lion’s whelp, and none made [them] afraid?
Where é a toca dos leões, e o lugar de alimentação dos leõezinhos, onde o leão e a leoa caminharam com os filhotes de leão, e ninguém os fez ter medo?
12 The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.
O leão rasgou em pedaços suficientes para suas crias, e estrangulou a presa para suas leoas, e encheu suas cavernas com a matança e seus covis com a presa.
13 Behold, I [am] against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
“Eis que estou contra vós”, diz Javé dos Exércitos, “e queimarei seus carros na fumaça, e a espada devorará vossos leões jovens; e cortarei vossas presas da terra, e a voz de vossos mensageiros não mais será ouvida”.
