Matthew 1
1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
൧അബ്രാഹാമിന്‍റെയും ദാവീദിന്റെയും പുത്രനായി ജനിച്ച യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ വംശാവലി:
2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;
൨അബ്രാഹാം യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; യിസ്ഹാക്ക് യാക്കോബിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; യാക്കോബ് യെഹൂദയുടേയും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെയും പിതാവായിരുന്നു;
3 And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;
൩യെഹൂദാ പാരെസിനെയും സാരഹിനേയും താമാറിൽ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; പാരെസ് ഹെസ്രോന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; ഹെസ്രോൻ ആരാമിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു;
4 And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;
൪ആരാം അമ്മീനാദാബിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; അമ്മീനാദാബ് നഹശോനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; നഹശോൻ ശല്മോനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു;
5 And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;
൫ശല്മോൻ രാഹാബിൽ ബോവസിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; ബോവസ് രൂത്തിൽ ഓബേദിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; ഓബേദ് യിശ്ശായിയുടെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു;
6 And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her [that had been the wife] of Urias;
൬യിശ്ശായി ദാവീദ്‌രാജാവിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; ദാവീദ് ഊരിയാവിന്റെ ഭാര്യയായിരുന്നവളിൽ ശലോമോനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു;
7 And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;
൭ശലോമോൻ രെഹബ്യാമിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; രെഹബ്യാം അബീയാവിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; അബീയാവ് ആസായുടെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു;
8 And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;
൮ആസാ യെഹോശാഫാത്തിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് യോരാമിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; യോരാം ഉസ്സീയാവിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു;
9 And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;
൯ഉസ്സീയാവ് യോഥാമിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; യോഥാം ആഹാസിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; ആഹാസ് ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു;
10 And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;
൧൦ഹിസ്കീയാവ് മനശ്ശെയുടെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; മനശ്ശെ ആമോസിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; ആമോസ് യോശിയാവിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു;
11 And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:
൧൧യോശീയാവ് യെഖൊന്യാവെയും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരെയും ബാബേൽപ്രവാസകാലത്ത് ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.
12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;
൧൨ബാബേൽപ്രവാസത്തിനുശേഷം യെഖൊന്യാവ് ശെയല്തീയേലിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; ശെയല്തീയേൽ സെരുബ്ബാബേലിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു;
13 And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;
൧൩സെരുബ്ബാബേൽ അബീഹൂദിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; അബീഹൂദ് എല്യാക്കീമിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; എല്യാക്കീം ആസോരിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു.
14 And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;
൧൪ആസോർ സാദോക്കിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; സാദോക്ക് ആഖീമിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; ആഖീം എലീഹൂദിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു;
15 And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;
൧൫എലീഹൂദ് എലീയാസരിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; എലീയാസർ മത്ഥാന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; മത്ഥാൻ യാക്കോബിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു.
16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
൧൬യാക്കോബ് മറിയയുടെ ഭർത്താവായ യോസഫിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു. മറിയയിൽ നിന്നു ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു പേരുള്ള യേശു ജനിച്ചു.
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David [are] fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon [are] fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ [are] fourteen generations.
൧൭ഇങ്ങനെ തലമുറകൾ ആകെ അബ്രാഹാം മുതൽ ദാവീദ്‌വരെ പതിനാലും ദാവീദുമുതൽ ബാബേൽപ്രവാസത്തോളം പതിനാലും ബാബേൽ പ്രവാസം മുതൽ ക്രിസ്തുവിനോളം പതിനാലും ആകുന്നു.
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
൧൮എന്നാൽ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ജനനം ഇപ്രകാരം ആയിരുന്നു. അവന്റെ അമ്മയായ മറിയ യോസഫിന് വിവാഹം നിശ്ചയിക്കപ്പെട്ടശേഷം അവർ കൂടി യോജിക്കുംമുമ്പെ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാൽ ഗർഭംധരിച്ചു എന്നു മനസ്സിലാക്കി.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just [man], and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
൧൯അവളുടെ ഭർത്താവായ യോസഫ് നീതിമാനായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടും അവളെ പരസ്യമായി കളങ്കപ്പെടുത്തുവാൻ അവന് മനസ്സില്ലാത്തതു കൊണ്ടും അവളുമായുള്ള വിവഹനിശ്ചയം രഹസ്യമായി അവസാനിപ്പിക്കുവാൻ തീരുമാനിച്ചു.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
൨൦ഇങ്ങനെ ചിന്തിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ കർത്താവിന്റെ ദൂതൻ അവന് സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി: “ദാവീദിന്റെ മകനായ യോസഫേ, മറിയയെ ഭാര്യയായി സ്വീകരിക്കുന്ന കാര്യത്തിൽ നീ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; അവളിൽ ഉല്പാദിതമായത് പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാൽ ആകുന്നു.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
൨൧അവൾ ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിക്കും; അവൻ തന്റെ ജനത്തെ അവരുടെ പാപങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കുവാനായി വന്നിരിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് നീ അവന്റെ പേര് യേശു എന്നു വിളിക്കണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു”.
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
൨൨“കന്യക ഗർഭിണിയായി ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിക്കും; അവന് ദൈവം നമ്മോടുകൂടെ എന്നർത്ഥമുള്ള ഇമ്മാനുവേൽ എന്നു പേർ വിളിക്കും”
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
൨൩കർത്താവ് പ്രവാചകൻമുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത കാര്യങ്ങൾ ഇപ്രകാരം നിവർത്തിയായി.
24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
൨൪യോസഫ് ഉറക്കം ഉണർന്നു. കർത്താവിന്റെ ദൂതൻ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ചെയ്തു, തന്റെ ഭാര്യയായി അവളെ സ്വീകരിച്ചു.
25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
൨൫എന്നിരുന്നാലും, മകനെ പ്രസവിക്കുംവരെ അവൻ അവളുമായി ശാരീരികമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നില്ല. മകന് അവൻ യേശു എന്നു പേർവിളിച്ചു.
