< Matthew 9 >
1 And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.
Awo Yesu n’asaabala mu lyato n’awunguka n’atuuka mu kibuga ky’ewaabwe, Kaperunawumu.
2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
Amangwago ne bamuleetera omuntu eyali akoozimbye nga bamusitulidde ku katanda. Bwe yalaba okukkiriza kwabwe n’agamba omulwadde nti, “Mwana wange, guma omwoyo, nkusonyiye ebibi byo!”
3 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This [man] blasphemeth.
Naye waaliwo abamu ku bannyonnyozi b’amateeka ne boogeraganya bokka na bokka nti, “Omuntu ono avvoola! Alowooza nti Ye Katonda!”
4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?
Yesu n’amanya bye balowooza. N’abagamba nti, “Lwaki mubeera n’ebirowoozo ebibi mu mitima gyammwe?
5 For whether is easier, to say, [Thy] sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?
Ekyo buli muntu ayinza okukyogera, kubanga kwogera bwogezi.
6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy, ) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.
Naye mutegeere nga Omwana w’Omuntu alina obuyinza ku nsi okusonyiwa ebibi.” Awo n’agamba akoozimbye nti, “Yimirira weetikke akatanda ko, weddireyo ewammwe!”
7 And he arose, and departed to his house.
N’ayimirira ng’awonye, ne yeddirayo eka.
8 But when the multitudes saw [it], they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.
Naye abantu abaali mu bibiina bwe baalaba ekyamagero kino ne beewuunya nnyo! Ne bagulumiza Katonda eyawa abantu obuyinza obwenkaniddaawo!
9 And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
Awo Yesu bwe yava mu kifo ekyo n’alaba omuntu, erinnya lye Matayo, ng’atudde mu kifo we basolooleza omusolo, n’amugamba nti, “Ngoberera.” Bw’atyo naye n’asitukiramu n’agoberera Yesu.
10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
Awo Yesu bwe yali ng’atudde ku mmere mu nnyumba ya Matayo, abawooza bangi n’abantu abaali bamanyiddwa mu kitundu ekyo nti babi ne bajja ne batuula naye n’abayigirizwa be ku mmere ne balya.
11 And when the Pharisees saw [it], they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
Naye Abafalisaayo bwe baakiraba, ne bagamba abayigirizwa be nti, “Lwaki Mukama wammwe alya n’abawooza n’abantu abalina ebibi?”
12 But when Jesus heard [that], he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
Yesu bwe yawulira n’abaddamu nti, “Abalamu tebeetaaga musawo wabula abalwadde.
13 But go ye and learn what [that] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Mugende muyige amakulu g’Ekyawandiikibwa kino nti, ‘Ssaddaaka zammwe n’ebirabo byammwe si bye neetaaga, wabula neetaaga mubeerenga ba kisa.’ Najjirira kuyita boonoonyi, so sajjirira abo abeerowooza nti batuukirivu.”
14 Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?
Lwali lumu abayigirizwa ba Yokaana ne bajja eri Yesu ne bamubuuza nti, “Lwaki abayigirizwa bo tebasiiba nga ffe n’Abafalisaayo bwe tukola?”
15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
Yesu n’ababuuza nti, “Mikwano gy’omugole bayinza okunakuwala ng’omugole akyali nabo? Naye ekiseera kirituuka omugole lwalibaggibwako. Olwo nno balisiiba.
16 No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.
“Tewali muntu atunga kiwero kiggya mu lugoye lukadde, kubanga, ekiwero bwe kyetugga kiyuza olugoye olukadde, n’ekituli ne kigaziwa.
17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
Era tewali ateeka wayini musu mu nsawo ez’amaliba enkadde. Ensawoenkadde zaabika wayini n’ayiika n’ensawo ne zoonooneka. Wayini omusu bamuteeka mu nsawo z’amaliba maggya, byombi ne bitayonooneka.”
18 While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
Bwe yali ng’akyayogera nabo omufuzi n’ajja, n’amusinza n’amugamba nti, “Omwana wange omuwala anfuddeko, naye singa ojja n’omukwatako anaalamuka.”
19 And Jesus arose, and followed him, and [so did] his disciples.
Yesu bwe yasituka n’abayigirizwa be okugenda mu maka g’omukulu w’ekkuŋŋaaniro,
20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind [him], and touched the hem of his garment:
omukazi eyali alwadde ekikulukuto ky’omusaayi, okumala emyaka kkumi n’ebiri, n’ajja emabega we n’akoma ku lukugiro lw’ekyambalo kye.
21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
Kubanga y’agamba mu mutima gwe nti, “Ne bwe nnaakoma obukomi ku kyambalo kye nnaawona.”
22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
Yesu n’akyuka n’alaba omukazi n’amugamba nti, “Muwala, guma omwoyo! Owonye olw’okukkiriza kwo.” Omukazi n’awonera mu kiseera ekyo.
23 And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,
Awo Yesu bwe yatuuka mu maka g’omufuzi n’asanga abafuuyi b’amakondeere n’ekibiina nga kijagaladde,
24 He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.
n’agamba nti, “Mufulume kubanga omuwala tafudde wabula yeebase bwebasi.” Bonna ne bamusekerera nga bwe beesooza.
25 But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
Naye abantu bwe bamala okufuluma, Yesu n’ayingira, n’akwata omukono gw’omuwala, n’agolokosa omuwala.
26 And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.
Ebigambo ebyo ne bibuna mu kitundu ekyo kyonna.
27 And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, [Thou] Son of David, have mercy on us.
Awo Yesu bwe yava eyo, abazibe b’amaaso babiri ne bamugoberera nga bwe baleekaana nti, “Ayi Omwana wa Dawudi, otusaasire!”
28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
Bwe yatuuka mu nju, bamuzibe ne bajja w’ali. Yesu n’ababuuza nti, “Mukkiriza nga nnyinza okubazibula amaaso?” Ne bamuddamu nti, “Weewaawo, Mukama waffe.”
29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
Awo n’akoma ku maaso gaabwe n’abagamba nti, “Kale, olw’okukkiriza kwammwe, kye musabye mukiweereddwa.”
30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See [that] no man know [it].
Amangwago amaaso gaabwe ne gazibuka. Yesu n’abakuutira nnyo baleme kubuulirako muntu yenna ng’abagamba nti, “Mulabe nga tewaba n’omu ategeera bibaddewo.”
31 But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.
Naye bwe baava awo, ne bagenda nga basaasaanya ebigambo ebyo, nga babuulira buli muntu gwe baasisinkananga mu kitundu ekyo.
32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.
Awo Yesu ne be yali nabo, bwe baali bafuluma ne bamuleetera kiggala eyali tayogera kubanga yaliko dayimooni.
33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.
Yesu n’amugobako dayimooni, era amangwago abadde kiggala n’ayogera. Ekibiina ky’abantu ne beewuunya nnyo nga bagamba nti, “Kino tekibangawo mu Isirayiri.”
34 But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.
Naye Abafalisaayo ne bagamba nti, “Agoba baddayimooni lwa kubanga ye mukulu wa baddayimooni!”
35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
Yesu n’agenda ng’ayita mu bibuga byonna eby’omu kitundu ekyo, ne mu byalo ng’ayigiriza mu makuŋŋaaniro gaabwe, era ng’abuulira Enjiri ey’obwakabaka. Era buli we yatuukanga n’awonya abalwadde n’abakoozimbye bonna.
36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
Awo bwe yatunuulira ekibiina ky’abantu nga bajja gy’ali, nga bakooye nnyo, era nga basaasaanye ng’endiga ezitalina musumba, n’abasaasira nnyo.
37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly [is] plenteous, but the labourers [are] few;
N’agamba abayigirizwa be nti, “Eby’okukungula bingi nnyo, naye abakozi abakungula batono.
38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
Noolwekyo musabe nannyini nnimiro, aweereze abakozi mu nnimiro ye.”
