< Matthew 7 >
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
“Ẹ má ṣe dá ni lẹ́jọ́, kí a má bà dá yín lẹ́jọ́.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Nítorí irú ìdájọ́ tí ẹ̀yin bá ṣe, òun ni a ó sì ṣe fún yín; irú òsùwọ̀n tí ẹ̀yin bá fi wọ́n, òun ni a ó sì fi wọ́n fún yín.
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
“Èétiṣe tí ìwọ fi ń wo ẹ̀rún igi tí ń bẹ ní ojú arákùnrin rẹ, ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ kò kíyèsi ìtì igi tí ń bẹ ní ojú ara rẹ?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam [is] in thine own eye?
Tàbí ìwọ ó ti ṣe wí fún arákùnrin rẹ pé, ‘Jẹ́ kí èmi yọ ẹ̀rún igi tí ń bẹ ni ojú rẹ,’ sì wò ó ìtì igi ń bẹ ní ojú ìwọ tìkára rẹ.
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
Ìwọ àgàbàgebè, tètè kọ́ yọ ìtì igi jáde kúrò ní ojú ara rẹ ná, nígbà náà ni ìwọ yóò sì tó ríran kedere láti yọ ẹ̀rún igi tí ń bẹ ní ojú arákùnrin rẹ kúrò.
6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
“Ẹ má ṣe fi ohun mímọ́ fún ajá jẹ, ẹ má sì ṣe sọ ohun ọ̀ṣọ́ olówó iyebíye yín fún ẹlẹ́dẹ̀, bí ẹ̀yin bá ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀ kí wọ́n má bà fi ẹsẹ̀ tẹ̀ wọ́n mọ́lẹ̀, wọn a sì yí padà sí yín, wọn a sì bù yín jẹ.
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
“Béèrè, a ó sì fi fún yín; wá kiri, ẹ̀yin yóò sì rí; kànkùn, a ó sì ṣí i sílẹ̀ fún yín.
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Nítorí ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó béèrè ń rí gbà, ẹni tí ó bá sì wà kiri ń rí, ẹni bá sì kànkùn ni a yóò ṣi sílẹ̀ fún.
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
“Ta ni ọkùnrin náà tí ń bẹ nínú yín, bí ọmọ rẹ̀ béèrè àkàrà, tí yóò jẹ́ fi òkúta fún un?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
Tàbí bí ó béèrè ẹja, tí yóò jẹ́ fún un ní ejò?
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Ǹjẹ́ bí ẹ̀yin tí í ṣe ènìyàn búburú bá mọ̀ bí a ti í fi ẹ̀bùn rere fún àwọn ọmọ yín, mélòó mélòó ni Baba yín tí ń bẹ ní ọ̀run yóò fi ohun rere fún àwọn tí ó béèrè lọ́wọ́ rẹ̀?
12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
Nítorí náà, nínú gbogbo ohunkóhun ti ẹ̀yin bá ń fẹ́ kí ènìyàn kí ó ṣe sí yín, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kí ẹ̀yin kí ó ṣe sí wọn gẹ́gẹ́; nítorí èyí ni òfin àti àwọn wòlíì.
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
“Ẹ ba ẹnu-ọ̀nà tóóró wọlé; gbòòrò ni ẹnu-ọ̀nà náà, àti oníbùú ni ojú ọ̀nà náà tí ó lọ sí ibi ìparun, ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ni àwọn ẹni tí ń bá ibẹ̀ wọlé.
14 Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Nítorí kékeré ni ẹnu-ọ̀nà náà, tóóró sì ni ojú ọ̀nà náà, ti ó lọ sí ibi ìyè, díẹ̀ ni àwọn ẹni tí ó ń rìn ín.
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
“Ẹ máa ṣọ́ra fún àwọn èké wòlíì tí wọ́n ń tọ̀ yín wá ní àwọ̀ àgùntàn, ṣùgbọ́n ní inú wọn apanijẹ ìkookò ni wọ́n.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Nípa èso wọn ni ẹ̀yin ó fi mọ̀ wọn. Ǹjẹ́ ènìyàn ha lè ká èso àjàrà lára igi ọ̀gàn tàbí èso ọ̀pọ̀tọ́ lára ẹ̀gún òṣùṣú?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni gbogbo igi rere a máa so èso rere ṣùgbọ́n igi búburú a máa so èso búburú.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither [can] a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Igi rere kò le so èso búburú, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni igi búburú kò lè so èso rere.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Gbogbo igi tí kò bá so èso rere, a gé e lulẹ̀, à wọ́ ọ jù sínú iná.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Nítorí náà, nípa èso wọn ni ẹ̀yin yóò mọ̀ wọn.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
“Kì í ṣe gbogbo ẹni tó ń pè mí ní, ‘Olúwa, Olúwa,’ ni yóò wọ ìjọba ọ̀run, bí kò ṣe ẹni tó bá ń ṣe ìfẹ́ baba mi tí ń bẹ ní ọ̀run.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Ọ̀pọ̀ ni yóò wí fún mi ní ọjọ́ náà pé, ‘Olúwa, Olúwa, àwa kò ha sọtẹ́lẹ̀ ní orúkọ rẹ, àti ní orúkọ rẹ kọ́ ni a fi lé ọ̀pọ̀ ẹ̀mí èṣù jáde, tí a sì ṣe ọ̀pọ̀ iṣẹ́ ìyanu?’
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Nígbà náà ni èmi yóò wí fún wọn pé, ‘Èmi kò mọ̀ yín rí, ẹ kúrò lọ́dọ̀ mi ẹ̀yin oníṣẹ́ ẹ̀ṣẹ̀.’
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
“Nítorí ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ tèmi wọ̀nyí, tí ó bá sì ṣe wọn, èmi ó fiwé ọlọ́gbọ́n ènìyàn kan, ti ó kọ́ ilé rẹ̀ sí orí àpáta.
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
Òjò sì rọ̀, ìkún omi sì dé, afẹ́fẹ́ sì fẹ́, wọ́n sí bì lu ilé náà; síbẹ̀síbẹ̀ náà kò sì wó, nítorí tí a fi ìpìlẹ̀ rẹ̀ sọlẹ̀ lórí àpáta.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
Ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá sì gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ tèmi wọ̀nyí, tí kò bá sì ṣe wọ́n, òun ni èmi yóò fiwé aṣiwèrè ènìyàn kan tí ó kọ́ ilé rẹ̀ sí orí iyanrìn.
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Òjò sì rọ̀, ìkún omi sì dé, afẹ́fẹ́ sì fẹ́, wọ́n sì bì lu ilé náà, ilé náà sì wó; wíwó rẹ̀ sì pọ̀ jọjọ.”
28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
Nígbà tí Jesu sì parí sísọ nǹkan wọ̀nyí, ẹnu ya àwọn ọ̀pọ̀ ènìyàn sí ẹ̀kọ́ rẹ̀,
29 For he taught them as [one] having authority, and not as the scribes.
nítorí ó ń kọ́ wọn bí ẹni tí ó ní àṣẹ, kì í ṣe bí i ti olùkọ́ òfin wọn.
