Matthew 7
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
“No juzguen a otros, para que ustedes no sean juzgados.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Porque cualquiera que sea el criterio que usen para juzgar a otros, será usado para juzgarlos a ustedes, y cualquiera que sea la medida que ustedes usen para medir a otros, será usada para medirlos a ustedes.
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
¿Por qué miras la astilla que está en el ojo de tu hermano? ¿No te das cuenta de la viga que está en tu propio ojo?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam [is] in thine own eye?
¿Cómo puedes decirle a tu hermano: ‘Déjame sacarte esa astilla de tu ojo’ mientras tu tienes una viga en tu propio ojo?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
¡Estás siendo un hipócrita! Primero saca la viga que tienes en tu propio ojo. Entonces podrás ver con claridad y sacar la astilla del ojo de tu hermano.
6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
“No den a los perros lo que es santo. No tiren sus perlas a los cerdos. Así los cerdos no las pisotearán, y los perros no vendrán a atacarlos a ustedes.
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
“Pidan y se les dará, busquen y encontrarán, toquen a la puerta y la puerta se abrirá para ustedes.
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Todo el que pide, recibe; todo el que busca, encuentra; a todo el que toca, se le abre la puerta.
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
¿Acaso alguno de ustedes le daría una piedra a su hijo si este le pide un pan?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
¿O si le pidiera un pez, le daría una serpiente?
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
De modo que si incluso ustedes que son malos saben dar cosas buenas a sus hijos, cuánto más el Padre celestial dará cosas buenas a quienes le piden.
12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
“Traten a los demás como quieren que los traten a ustedes. Esto resume la ley y los profetas.
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Entren por la puerta estrecha. Porque es amplia la puerta y espacioso el camino que lleva a la destrucción, y muchos andan por él.
14 Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Pero estrecha es la puerta y angosto el camino que llevan a la vida, y solo unos pocos lo encuentran.
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
“Tengan cuidado con los falsos profetas que vienen vestidos de ovejas, pero por dentro son lobos feroces.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Pueden reconocerlos por sus frutos. ¿Acaso las personas cosechan uvas de los matorrales de espinos, o higos de los cardos?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
De modo que todo árbol bueno produce frutos buenos, mientras que un árbol malo produce frutos malos.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither [can] a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Un buen árbol no puede producir frutos malos, y un árbol malo no puede producir frutos buenos.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Todo árbol que no produce frutos buenos, se corta y se lanza al fuego.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Así que por sus frutos los conocerán.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
“No todo el que me dice ‘Señor, Señor’ entrará al reino de los cielos, sino solo aquellos que hacen la voluntad de mi Padre que está en el cielo.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Muchos me dirán el día del juicio: ‘Señor, Señor, ¿acaso no profetizamos, nos sacamos demonios e hicimos muchos milagros en tu nombre?’
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Entonces yo les diré: ‘Yo nunca los conocí a ustedes. ¡Apártense de mi, practicantes de la maldad!’
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
Todo aquél que escucha las palabras que yo digo, y las sigue, es como el hombre sabio que construyó su casa sobre la roca sólida.
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
La lluvia cayó, hubo inundación y los vientos soplaron fuertemente contra aquella casa, pero no se cayó porque su fundamento estaba sobre la roca sólida.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
Pero todo aquél que escucha las palabras que yo digo y no las sigue, es como el hombre necio que construyó su casa sobre la arena.
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
La lluvia cayó, hubo inundación y los vientos soplaron fuertemente contra aquella casa, y se cayó. Colapsó por completo”.
28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
Cuando Jesús terminó de explicar estas cosas, las multitudes se maravillaban de su enseñanza,
29 For he taught them as [one] having authority, and not as the scribes.
porque él enseñaba como alguien que tenía autoridad, y no como sus maestros religiosos.
