Matthew 12
1 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.
੧ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਲੰਘਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਖ ਲੱਗੀ, ਉਹ ਸਿੱਟੇ ਤੋੜ ਕੇ ਖਾਣ ਲੱਗੇ।
2 But when the Pharisees saw [it], they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.
੨ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਵੇਖ, ਤੇਰੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਉਹ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ।
3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;
੩ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਭਲਾ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਕਿ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਕੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਸਨ?
4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
੪ਜੋ ਉਹ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਵੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਰੋਟੀਆਂ ਖਾਧੀਆਂ, ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਖਾਣੀਆਂ ਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਕੇਵਲ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ।
5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
੫ਜਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਕਿ ਜਾਜਕ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਹੈਕਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਬਤ ਦਾ ਅਪਮਾਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਹਨ?
6 But I say unto you, That in this place is [one] greater than the temple.
੬ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਇੱਥੇ ਹੈਕਲ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ।
7 But if ye had known what [this] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
੭ਪਰ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਬਲੀਦਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਦਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨਾ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਂਦੇ।
8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
੮ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ।
9 And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:
੯ਫਿਰ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਆ।
10 And, behold, there was a man which had [his] hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
੧੦ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ ਉੱਥੇ ਸੁੱਕੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਾਲਾ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਤੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, ਭਲਾ, ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ?
11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift [it] out?
੧੧ਉਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੈ ਜਿਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਇੱਕ ਭੇਡ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਟੋਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਨਾ ਕੱਢੇ?
12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
੧੨ਸੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭੇਡ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਕਿੰਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਉੱਤਮ ਹੈ! ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਭਲਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ।
13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched [it] forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
੧੩ਤਦ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਵਧਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਲੰਮਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੂਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਰਗਾ ਫੇਰ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
14 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.
੧੪ਤਦ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਬਣਾਈ ਕਿ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰੀਏ।
15 But when Jesus knew [it], he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
੧੫ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਇਹ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਤੁਰ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਤੁਰ ਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
16 And charged them that they should not make him known:
੧੬ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਿਤਾਵਨੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਨਾ ਕਰਨਾ।
17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
੧੭ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਬਚਨ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਯਸਾਯਾਹ ਨਬੀ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਵੇ:
18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
੧੮ਵੇਖੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀਅ ਪਰਸੰਨ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੱਖਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
੧੯ਉਹ ਨਾ ਝਗੜਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਨਾ ਉੱਚੀ ਬੋਲੇਗਾ, ਨਾ ਚੌਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣੇਗਾ।
20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
੨੦ਉਹ ਕੁਚਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਾਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਤੋੜੇਗਾ, ਨਾ ਨਿੰਮ੍ਹੀ ਬੱਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਝਾਵੇਗਾ, ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਨਾ ਕਰਾ ਦੇਵੇ,
21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
੨੧ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਆਸ ਰੱਖਣਗੀਆਂ।
22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
੨੨ਤਦ ਲੋਕ ਇੱਕ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਗੂੰਗੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੂਤ ਚਿੰਬੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬੋਲਣ ਤੇ ਵੇਖਣ ਲੱਗਾ।
23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
੨੩ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਬੋਲੇ, ਕੀ, ਇਹ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ?
24 But when the Pharisees heard [it], they said, This [fellow] doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
੨੪ਪਰ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਕਿ ਇਹ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢਦਾ ਹੈ।
25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
੨੫ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੋਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੁੱਟ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਵਿਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਗਰ ਜਾਂ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੁੱਟ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਬਣਿਆ ਨਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ।
26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
੨੬ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਹੀ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਫੁੱਟ ਪੈ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਫੇਰ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast [them] out? therefore they shall be your judges.
੨੭ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕਿਸ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਕੱਢਦੇ ਹਨ? ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਹੋਣਗੇ।
28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
੨੮ਪਰ ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਆ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹੈ।
29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.
੨੯ਅਥਵਾ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਜ਼ੋਰਾਵਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੜ ਕੇ, ਜੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਸ ਜੋਰਾਵਰ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਨਾ ਲਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਾਲ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਲੁੱਟ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਲੁੱਟੇਗਾ।
30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
੩੦ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਉਹ ਖਿਲਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy [against] the [Holy] Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
੩੧ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਹਰੇਕ ਪਾਪ ਅਤੇ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕੁਫ਼ਰ ਬੋਲੇ, ਉਹ ਮਾਫ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the [world] to come. (aiōn g165)
੩੨ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਗੱਲ ਕਰੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਪਰ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕੁਫ਼ਰ ਬੋਲੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਇਸ ਜੁੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਜੁੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। (aiōn g165)
33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by [his] fruit.
੩੩ਜੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਆਖੋ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਫਲ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਚੰਗਾ ਆਖੋ ਜਾਂ ਰੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਰਾ ਆਖੋ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਫਲ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਬੁਰਾ ਆਖੋ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਰੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਫਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
੩੪ਹੇ ਸੱਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਓ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬੁਰੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ? ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੋ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
੩੫ਭਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਭਲੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਭਲੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੱਢਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬੁਰਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬੁਰੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬੁਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੱਢਦਾ ਹੈ।
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
੩੬ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰੇਕ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਬੋਲਣ, ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਦੇਣਗੇ।
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
੩੭ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ।
38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
੩੮ਫਿਰ ਕੁਝ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਕੋਈ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਵੇਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
੩੯ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਕਿ ਬੁਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਹਰਾਮਕਾਰ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਯੂਨਾਹ ਨਬੀ ਦੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
੪੦ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਯੂਨਾਹ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਰਾਤ ਮੱਛੀ ਦੇ ਢਿੱਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਹਾ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਰਾਤਾਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਹੇਗਾ।
41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas [is] here.
੪੧ਨੀਨਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ, ਇਸ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਠਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਣਗੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯੂਨਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਰਚਾਰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਤੋਬਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ, ਇੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਯੂਨਾਹ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ।
42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon [is] here.
੪੨ਦੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਰਾਣੀ ਨਿਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ, ਇਸ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਠੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਵੇਗੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਹੱਦ ਤੋਂ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਸੁਣਨ ਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ, ਇੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ।
43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
੪੩ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਆਤਮਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਸੁੱਕਿਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਰਾਮ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਫ਼ਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth [it] empty, swept, and garnished.
੪੪ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਜਿੱਥੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਨਿੱਕਲਿਆ ਸੀ, ਵਾਪਸ ਜਾਂਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਹਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਝਾੜਿਆ ਸੁਆਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last [state] of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
੪੫ਤਦ ਉਹ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸੱਤ ਹੋਰ ਬੁਰੇ ਆਤਮੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਦਾ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਲ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਬੁਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਬੁਰੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਾਲ ਵੀ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
46 While he yet talked to the people, behold, [his] mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.
੪੬ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਭਰਾ ਬਾਹਰ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ।
47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.
੪੭ਤਦ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਵੇਖ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਭਰਾ ਬਾਹਰ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
੪੮ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੌਣ ਹਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾ?
49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
੪੯ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਵੱਲ ਹੱਥ ਪਸਾਰ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਵੇਖੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾ ਇਹ ਹਨ।
50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
੫੦ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਵਰਗੀ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਭਰਾ, ਮੇਰੀ ਭੈਣ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਹੈ।
