Matthew 1
1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
アブラハムの子、ダビデの子、イエス・キリストの系圖。
2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;
アブラハム、イサクを生み、イサク、ヤコブを生み、ヤコブ、ユダとその兄弟らとを生み、
3 And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;
ユダ、タマルによりてパレスとザラとを生み、パレス、エスロンを生み、エスロン、アラムを生み、
4 And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;
アラム、アミナダブを生み、アミナダブ、ナアソンを生み、ナアソン、サルモンを生み、
5 And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;
サルモン、ラハブによりてボアズを生み、ボアズ、ルツによりてオベデを生み、オベデ、エツサイを生み、
6 And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her [that had been the wife] of Urias;
エツサイ、ダビデ王を生めり。ダビデ、ウリヤの妻たりし女によりてソロモンを生み、
7 And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;
ソロモン、レハベアムを生み、レハベアム、アビヤを生み、アビヤ、アサを生み、
8 And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;
アサ、ヨサパテを生み、ヨサパテ、ヨラムを生み、ヨラム、ウジヤを生み、
9 And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;
ウジヤ、ヨタムを生み、ヨタム、アハズを生み、アハズ、ヒゼキヤを生み、
10 And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;
ヒゼキヤ、マナセを生み、マナセ、アモンを生み、アモン、ヨシヤを生み、
11 And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:
バビロンに移さるる頃、ヨシヤ、エコニヤとその兄弟らとを生めり。
12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;
バビロンに移されて後、エコニヤ、サラテルを生み、サラテル、ゾロバベルを生み、
13 And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;
ゾロバベル、アビウデを生み、アビウデ、エリヤキムを生み、エリヤキム、アゾルを生み、
14 And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;
アゾル、サドクを生み、サドク、アキムを生み、アキム、エリウデを生み、
15 And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;
エリウデ、エレアザルを生み、エレアザル、マタンを生み、マタン、ヤコブを生み、
16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
ヤコブ、マリヤの夫ヨセフを生めり。此のマリヤよりキリストと稱ふるイエス生れ給へり。
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David [are] fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon [are] fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ [are] fourteen generations.
されば總て世をふる事、アブラハムよりダビデまで十四代、ダビデよりバビロンに移さるるまで十四代、バビロンに移されてよりキリストまで十四代なり。
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
イエス・キリストの誕生は左のごとし。その母マリヤ、ヨセフと許嫁したるのみにて、未だ偕にならざりしに、聖 靈によりて孕り、その孕りたること顯れたり。
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just [man], and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
夫ヨセフは正しき人にして、之を公然にするを好まず、私に離縁せんと思ふ。
20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
かくて、これらの事を思ひ囘らしをるとき、視よ、主の使、夢に現れて言ふ『ダビデの子ヨセフよ、妻マリヤを納るる事を恐るな。その胎に宿る者は聖 靈によるなり。
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
かれ子を生まん、汝その名をイエスと名づくべし。己が民をその罪より救ひ給ふ故なり』
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
すべて此の事の起りしは、預言者によりて主の云ひ給ひし言の成就せん爲なり。曰く、
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
『視よ、處女みごもりて子を生まん。その名はインマヌエルと稱へられん』之を釋けば、神われらと偕に在すといふ意なり。
24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
ヨセフ寐より起き、主の使の命ぜし如くして妻を納れたり。
25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
されど子の生るるまでは、相 知る事なかりき。かくてその子をイエスと名づけたり。
