Mark 10
1 And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judæa by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.

2 And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away [his] wife? tempting him.
Pea haʻu ʻae kau Fālesi, ʻonau fehuʻi ʻahiʻahi kiate ia, “ʻOku ngofua ke tukuange ʻe he tangata [ʻa hono ]uaifi?”
3 And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?

4 And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.
Pea nau pehē, “Naʻe tuku ʻe Mōsese ke tohi ʻae tohi fakamavae, pea tukuange [ia].”
5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.
Pea lea ʻa Sisu, ʻo pehēange kiate kinautolu, “Ko e meʻa ʻi he fefeka ʻo homou loto naʻa ne tohi ai ʻae fekau ni kiate kimoutolu.
6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
Kae talu mei he kamataʻanga ʻi he fakatupu naʻe ngaohi ʻakinaua ʻe he ʻOtua ‘ko e tangata mo e fefine.’
7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;
‘Pea ko e meʻa ko ia ʻe tukuange ai ʻe he tangata ʻa ʻene tamai mo ʻene faʻē, kae pikitai ki hono uaifi;
8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
pea ʻe hoko ʻakinaua ko e kakano pe taha:’ ko ia ʻoku ʻikai ai ke na kei ua ka ko e kakano pe taha.
9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Ko ia foki kuo fakataha ʻe he ʻOtua, ke ʻoua naʻa fakamavae ʻe ha tangata.”
10 And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same [matter].
Pea toe ʻeke ʻe heʻene kau ākonga kiate ia ʻi he fale ki he meʻa ko ia.
11 And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.
Pea pehē ʻe ia kiate kinautolu, “Ko ia ia ʻe tukuange hono uaifi, pea fakamaʻu mo ha taha kehe, ʻoku tono fefine ia kiate ia.
12 And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
Pea kapau ʻe tukuange ʻe he fefine ʻa hono husepāniti, pea fakamaʻu mo ha taha kehe, ʻoku tono tangata ia.”
13 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and [his] disciples rebuked those that brought [them].
Pea naʻa nau ʻomi ʻae tamaiki iiki kiate ia, koeʻuhi ke ne ala kiate kinautolu: pea lolomi ʻe he kau ākonga [ʻakinautolu ]naʻe ʻomi ʻakinautolu.
14 But when Jesus saw [it], he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
Ko e moʻoni ʻoku ou tala atu kiate kimoutolu, Ko ia ia ʻe ʻikai te ne maʻu ʻae puleʻanga ʻoe ʻOtua ʻo hangē ko ha tamasiʻi siʻi, ʻe ʻikai hū ia ki ai.”
16 And he took them up in his arms, put [his] hands upon them, and blessed them.
Pea fua hake ʻe ia ʻakinautolu ʻi hono nima, ʻo hilifaki hono nima kiate kinautolu, mo ne tāpuakiʻi ʻakinautolu.
17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? (aiōnios g166)
Pea ʻi heʻene hāʻele atu ki he hala, naʻe lele mai ʻae tokotaha, ʻo tūʻulutui kiate ia, mo fehuʻi kiate ia, [ʻo pehē], “ʻEiki lelei, ko e hā teu fai ke u maʻu ai ʻae moʻui taʻengata?” (aiōnios g166)
18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God.
Pea pehē ʻe Sisu kiate ia, “Ko e hā ʻoku ke ui ai au ko e lelei? Ko e tokotaha pe ʻoku lelei, ʻaia ko e ʻOtua.
19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
ʻOku ke ʻilo ʻae ngaahi fekau, ‘ʻOua naʻa ke tono fefine, ʻOua naʻa ke fakapō, ʻOua naʻa ke kaihaʻa, ʻOua naʻa ke fakamoʻoni loi, ʻOua naʻa ke kākā, Fakaʻapaʻapa ki hoʻo tamai mo hoʻo faʻē.’”
20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
Pea ne lea, ʻo pehēange kiate ia, “ʻEiki, kuo u fai eni kotoa pē talu ʻeku kei siʻi.”
21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
Pea naʻe puputuʻu ia ʻi he lea ko ia, pea ʻalu atu kuo mamahi; he naʻe lahi ʻene koloa.
23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
Pea vakai foli ʻe Sisu, pea ne pehē ki heʻene kau ākonga, “Ko e meʻa faingataʻa ʻaupito kiate kinautolu ʻoku maʻu koloa ke hū ki he puleʻanga ʻoe ʻOtua!”
24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
Pea ofo ʻae kau ākonga ʻi heʻene ngaahi lea. Ka naʻe toe lea ʻa Sisu, ʻo pehēange kiate kinautolu, “Fānau ʻe faingataʻa ʻaupito kiate kinautolu ʻoku falala ki he koloa ke hū ki he puleʻanga ʻoe ʻOtua!
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
ʻOku faingofua ke hū ʻae kāmeli ʻi he avaʻi hui, ʻi he hū ʻae tangata koloaʻia ki he puleʻanga ʻoe ʻOtua.”
26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
Pea naʻa nau mātuʻaki ofo fakamanavahē, ʻonau fepehēʻaki, “Pea ko hai ʻe moʻui?”
27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men [it is] impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
Pea vakai ʻa Sisu kiate kinautolu, ʻo ne pehē, “ʻOku ʻikai faʻa fai [eni ]ʻe he tangata, ka ko e ʻOtua pe: he ʻoku faʻa fai ʻe he ʻOtua ʻae meʻa kotoa pē.”
28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.
Pea toki pehē ʻe Pita kiate ia, “Vakai, kuo mau liʻaki ʻae meʻa kotoa pē, ʻo muimui ʻiate koe.”
29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s,
Pea lea ʻa Sisu, ʻo pehēange, “Ko e moʻoni ʻoku ou tala atu kiate kimoutolu, ʻOku ʻikai ha tangata kuo ne liʻaki ʻae fale, pe ko e ngaahi kāinga, pe ha ngaahi tuofefine, pe ko e tamai, pe ko e faʻē, pe ha uaifi, pe ha fānau, pe ko e fonua, koeʻuhi ko au, pea mo e ongoongolelei,
31 But many [that are] first shall be last; and the last first.
Ka ko e tokolahi ʻoku muʻomuʻa ʻe muimui; pea ʻe muʻomuʻa ʻae muimui.”
32 And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him,
Pea kuo nau fononga ʻi he hala ki Selūsalema; pea muʻomuʻa atu ʻa Sisu ʻiate kinautolu: pea ofo ai ʻakinautolu; pea nau manavahē ʻi heʻenau muimui. Pea ne toe ʻave ʻae toko hongofulu ma toko ua, ʻo ne kamata tala kiate kinautolu ʻae ngaahi meʻa ʻe hoko kiate ia,
33 [Saying], Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:
[ʻO ne pehē], “Vakai, ʻoku tau ʻalu hake ki Selūsalema; pea ʻe tukuange ʻae Foha ʻoe tangata ki he kau taulaʻeiki lahi, mo e kau tangata tohi; pea te nau fakamaau ia ke mate, ʻo tukuange ia ki he Senitaile;
34 And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.
Pea te nau manukiʻi ia, mo haha ia, mo ʻaʻanu kiate ia, mo tāmateʻi ia; pea ʻi hono ʻaho tolu ʻe toetuʻu ia.”
35 And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.
Pea haʻu kiate ia ʻa Semisi mo Sione, ko e ongo foha ʻo Sepeti, ʻo na pehē, “ʻEiki, ko homa loto ke ke fai maʻamaua ʻaia kotoa pē te ma kole ki ai.”
36 And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?
Pea pehēange ʻe ia kiate kinaua, “Ko e hā homo loto ke u fai maʻamoua?”
37 They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.
Pea na pehē kiate ia, Tuku kiate kimaua ke ma nofo, ko e tokotaha ʻi ho nima toʻomataʻu, pea tokotaha ʻi ho nima toʻohema, ʻi ho nāunau.”
38 But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
Ka naʻe pehē ʻe Sisu kiate kinaua, “ʻOku ʻikai temo ʻilo ʻaia ʻoku mo kole: ʻoku mo faʻa fai ke inu ʻi he ipu ʻaia te u inu ai? Pea ke papitaiso ʻi he papitaiso ko ia te u papitaiso ai?”
39 And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:
Pea na pehēange kiate ia, “ʻOku ma faʻa fai pe.” Pea pehē ʻe Sisu kiate kinaua, “ʻE inu moʻoni ʻekimoua ʻi he ipu te u inu ai; pea temo papitaiso ʻi he papitaiso ko ia ʻe papitaiso ʻaki au:
40 But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but [it shall be given to them] for whom it is prepared.
Ka ko e nofo ki hoku nima toʻomataʻu mo hoku nima toʻohema, ʻoku ʻikai ʻaʻaku ia ke foaki, ka kiate kinautolu kuo teuteu ia ki ai.”
41 And when the ten heard [it], they began to be much displeased with James and John.
Pea kuo fanongo ai ʻae toko hongofulu, naʻa nau toki ʻita lahi kia Semisi mo Sione.
42 But Jesus called them [to him], and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.
Ka naʻe ui ʻakinautolu ʻe Sisu, ʻo ne pehē kiate kinautolu, “ʻOku mou ʻilo ko kinautolu kuo fakanofo ko e ʻeiki ʻoe Senitaile ʻoku nau faʻa puleʻi ʻakinautolu; pea ko honau houʻeiki ʻoku nau fai faʻiteliha kiate kinautolu.
43 But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:
Ka ʻe ʻikai pehē ʻiate kimoutolu: ka ko ia ʻoku loto ke lahi ʻiate kimoutolu, ke hoko ia ko homou tauhi:
44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.
Pea ko ia ʻiate kimoutolu ʻoku loto ke ʻeiki, ʻe hoko ia ko e tamaioʻeiki ʻamoutolu kotoa pē.
45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
He naʻe ʻikai ke haʻu ʻae Foha ʻoe tangata ke tauhia ia, ka ke tauhi, pea ke foaki ʻene moʻui ko e huhuʻi ʻoe tokolahi.”
46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimæus, the son of Timæus, sat by the highway side begging.
Pea naʻa nau haʻu ki Seliko: pea ʻi heʻenau ō ʻi Seliko mo ʻene kau ākonga, mo e kakai tokolahi, naʻe nofo ʻo kole ʻi he veʻehala [motuʻa ]ʻae kui ko Patimiusi, ko e foha ʻo Timiusi.
47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, [thou] Son of David, have mercy on me.
Pea kuo fanongo ia ko Sisu ʻo Nāsaleti ia, naʻe kamata tangi kalanga ia, ʻo pehē, “Sisu, Foha ʻo Tevita, ʻaloʻofa mai kiate au.”
48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, [Thou] Son of David, have mercy on me.
Pea lolomi ia ʻe he tokolahi ke fakalongo pē: kae ʻāsili ai ʻaupito ʻene kalanga, “Foha ʻo Tevita, ʻaloʻofa kiate au.”
49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.
Pea tuʻu ʻa Sisu, ʻo fekau ke ui kiate ia. Pea naʻa nau ui ʻae tangata kui, mo pehē kiate ia, “Ke ke fiemālie, tuʻu; ʻoku ne ui koe.”
50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.
Pea siʻaki ʻe ia hono kofu, kae tuʻu hake, ʻo haʻu kia Sisu.
51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.
Pea lea ʻa Sisu, ʻo ne pehē kiate ia, “Ko e hā ho loto ke u fai kiate koe?” Pea pehēange ʻe he tangata kui kiate ia, “ʻEiki, ke ʻā hoku mata.”
52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
Pea pehē ʻe Sisu kiate ia, “ʻAlu; kuo fakamoʻui koe ʻe hoʻo tui.” Pea ʻā leva ia, ʻo ne muimui kia Sisu ʻi he hala.
