Luke 1
1 Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us,
ಸನ್ಮಾನ್ಯ ಥೆಯೊಫಿಲರೇ, ನಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದಿರುವ ಘಟನೆಗಳ ವರದಿಯನ್ನು ಬರೆದಿಡಲು ಅನೇಕರು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
2 Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;
ಮೊದಲಿನಿಂದ ಕಣ್ಣಾರೆ ಕಂಡವರೂ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯದ ಸೇವಕರೂ ನಮಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
3 It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus,
ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಸಹ ಮೊದಲಿನಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಶೋಧಿಸಿ, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಬರೆಯುವುದು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದೆಂದು ನನಗೆ ತೋಚಿತು.
4 That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.
ಹೀಗೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿರುವ ವಿಷಯಗಳು ಖಚಿತವೆಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿದುಬರುವುದು.
5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judæa, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife [was] of the daughters of Aaron, and her name [was] Elisabeth.
ಯೂದಾಯದ ಅರಸನಾಗಿದ್ದ ಹೆರೋದನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಅಬೀಯನ ವರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಜಕರೀಯನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಯಾಜಕನಿದ್ದನು. ಇವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯ ಹೆಸರು ಎಲಿಸಬೇತ್. ಇವಳು ಆರೋನನ ವಂಶದವಳು.
6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
ಇವರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೀರ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಪ್ಪಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಕೈಕೊಂಡು, ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ನೀತಿವಂತರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
7 And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were [now] well stricken in years.
ಆದರೆ ಎಲಿಸಬೇತಳು ಬಂಜೆಯಾದುದರಿಂದ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಬಹಳ ವಯಸ್ಸಾದವರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
8 And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest’s office before God in the order of his course,
ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಜಕರೀಯನು ತನ್ನ ವರ್ಗದ ಸರದಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಯಾಜಕ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ,
9 According to the custom of the priest’s office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.
ಯಾಜಕೋದ್ಯೋಗದ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯಂತೆ, ಅವನು ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ಆಲಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ಧೂಪವನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಚೀಟು ಹಾಕಿದಾಗ, ಅದು ಅವನ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿತು.
10 And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense.
ಧೂಪಾರ್ಪಣೆಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಹೊರಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
11 And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
ಆಗ ಧೂಪವೇದಿಯ ಬಲಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ, ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ದೂತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.
12 And when Zacharias saw [him], he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.
ಜಕರೀಯನು ದೂತನನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, ಚಕಿತಗೊಂಡು ಭಯಭ್ರಾಂತನಾದನು.
13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
ಆದರೆ ದೂತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಜಕರೀಯನೇ; ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡ, ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನ ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಎಲಿಸಬೇತಳು ನಿನಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆರುವಳು, ನೀನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, ‘ಯೋಹಾನ’ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರನ್ನಿಡಬೇಕು.
14 And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.
ಅನೇಕರು ಅವನ ಜನನಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡುವರು, ನಿನಗೆ ಆನಂದವೂ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸವೂ ಆಗುವುದು,
15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb.
ಅವನು ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾಪುರುಷನಾಗಿರುವನು. ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಮದ್ಯವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಅವನು ಕುಡಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಅವನು ತಾಯಿಯ ಗರ್ಭದಿಂದಲೇ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ ಭರಿತನಾಗಿರುವನು.
16 And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.
ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕರನ್ನು ಅವರ ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಸುವನು.
17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
ಅವನು ತಂದೆಯರ ಹೃದಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಕಡೆಗೂ ಅವಿಧೇಯರನ್ನು ನೀತಿವಂತರ ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಕಡೆಗೂ ತಿರುಗಿಸಿ, ಕರ್ತ ದೇವರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಜನರನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಲೀಯನ ಆತ್ಮದಿಂದಲೂ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗುವನು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
18 And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.
ಜಕರೀಯನು ಆ ದೇವದೂತನಿಗೆ, “ಇದನ್ನು ನಾನು ಯಾವುದರಿಂದ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ? ನಾನು ಮುದುಕನು; ನನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯೂ ಪ್ರಾಯ ಮೀರಿದವಳು,” ಎಂದನು.
19 And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.
ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆ ದೂತನು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ನಾನು ದೇವರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲುವ ಗಬ್ರಿಯೇಲನು. ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಈ ಸಂತೋಷದ ವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ದೇವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
20 And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.
ಸಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರವೇರುವ ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನೀನು ನಂಬದೆ ಹೋದಕಾರಣ, ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳು ಈಡೇರುವ ದಿನದವರೆಗೆ ನೀನು ಮಾತನಾಡಲಾರದೆ ಮೂಕನಾಗಿರುವಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
21 And the people waited for Zacharias, and marvelled that he tarried so long in the temple.
ಆಗ, ಜಕರೀಯನಿಗಾಗಿ ಕಾದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಜನರು ಅವನು ದೇವಾಲಯದೊಳಗೆ ತಡಮಾಡಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
22 And when he came out, he could not speak unto them: and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple: for he beckoned unto them, and remained speechless.
ಜಕರೀಯನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಏನೂ ಮಾತನಾಡಲಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸನ್ನೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಮೂಕನಾಗಿಯೇ ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ, ಅವರು ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಏನೋ ದರ್ಶನವಾಗಿರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದರು.
23 And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house.
ತನ್ನ ಸೇವೆಯ ದಿನಗಳು ಮುಗಿದ ನಂತರ, ಜಕರೀಯನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದನು.
24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,
ಕೆಲವು ದಿನಗಳಾದ ಮೇಲೆ, ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಎಲಿಸಬೇತಳು ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿ, ಐದು ತಿಂಗಳು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮರೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಳು.
25 Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on [me], to take away my reproach among men.
ಅವಳು, “ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗಿದ್ದ ಅವಮಾನವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕರ್ತದೇವರು ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ದಯೆತೋರಿಸಿ ಈ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದಳು.
26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
ಎಲಿಸಬೇತಳು ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾದ ಆರನೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಗಲಿಲಾಯ ಪ್ರಾಂತದ ನಜರೇತೆಂಬ ಊರಿಗೆ, ದೇವರು ಗಬ್ರಿಯೇಲನೆಂಬ ದೇವದೂತನನ್ನು,
27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name [was] Mary.
ದಾವೀದನ ವಂಶದ ಯೋಸೇಫನಿಗೆ, ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಮರಿಯಳೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಕನ್ನಿಕೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು.
28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, [thou that art] highly favoured, the Lord [is] with thee: blessed [art] thou among women.
ಆ ದೇವದೂತನು ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ಅತ್ಯಂತ ದಯೆ ಹೊಂದಿದವಳೇ! ನಿನಗೆ ಶುಭವಾಗಲಿ, ಪ್ರಭುವು ನಿನ್ನೊಂದಿಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
29 And when she saw [him], she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
ಮರಿಯಳು ದೇವದೂತನ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಕಳವಳಗೊಂಡು, “ಇದು ಎಂಥಾ ಶುಭಾಶಯ?” ಎಂದು ತನ್ನ ಮನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಚಿಸತೊಡಗಿದಳು.
30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
ಆ ದೇವದೂತನು ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ಮರಿಯಳೇ, ಹೆದರಬೇಡ. ನೀನು ದೇವರ ದಯೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವಿ.
31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
ಇಗೋ, ನೀನು ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆರುವೆ, ಅವರಿಗೆ ‘ಯೇಸು’ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಡಬೇಕು.
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
ಅವರು ದೊಡ್ಡವರಾಗಿ ಮಹೋನ್ನತರ ಪುತ್ರ ಎಂದು ಎನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು. ಕರ್ತದೇವರು ಅವರ ತಂದೆ ದಾವೀದನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುವರು.
33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. (aiōn g165)
ಅವರು ಯಾಕೋಬನ ವಂಶವನ್ನು ಸದಾಕಾಲ ಆಳುವರು; ಅವರ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅಂತ್ಯವೇ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. (aiōn g165)
34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
ಮರಿಯಳು ಆ ದೇವದೂತನಿಗೆ, “ಇದು ಹೇಗಾಗುವುದು, ನಾನು ಕನ್ಯೆ?” ಎಂದಳು.
35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
ಆ ದೇವದೂತನು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಮರಿಯಳಿಗೆ, “ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರಲು, ಮಹೋನ್ನತ ದೇವರ ಶಕ್ತಿಯು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಆವರಿಸುವುದು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟುವ ಆ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಶಿಶುವು ದೇವರ ಪುತ್ರ ಎನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು.
36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
ನಿನ್ನ ಬಂಧು ಎಲಿಸಬೇತಳು ಸಹ ತನ್ನ ಮುಪ್ಪಿನ ಪ್ರಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆರಲಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. ಬಂಜೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಆಕೆಗೆ ಇದು ಆರನೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳು.
37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
ದೇವರಿಂದ ಬರುವ ಯಾವ ತಕ್ಕ ಮಾತು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಅಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
ಮರಿಯಳು, “ಇಗೋ ನಾನು ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ದಾಸಿ, ನಿನ್ನ ತಕ್ಕ ಮಾತಿನಂತೆ ನನಗಾಗಲಿ,” ಎಂದಳು. ಆಗ ದೇವದೂತನು ಆಕೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದನು.
39 And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;
ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಿಯಳು ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಸೀಮೆಯ ಯೆಹೂದದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಒಂದು ಊರಿಗೆ ಅವಸರವಾಗಿ ಹೊರಡಲು ಸಿದ್ಧಳಾದಳು.
40 And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.
ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಜಕರೀಯನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ, ಎಲಿಸಬೇತಳನ್ನು ವಂದಿಸಿದಳು.
41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:
ಮರಿಯಳ ವಂದನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, ಎಲಿಸಬೇತಳ ಗರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಕೂಸು ನಲಿದಾಡಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಎಲಿಸಬೇತಳು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ ಭರಿತಳಾಗಿ
42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed [art] thou among women, and blessed [is] the fruit of thy womb.
ಮಹಾಧ್ವನಿಯಿಂದ: “ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಧನ್ಯಳೇ, ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟುವ ಶಿಶುವೂ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು!
43 And whence [is] this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
ನನ್ನ ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ತಾಯಿಯು, ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವಷ್ಟು ನಾನು ದಯೆ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು ಏಕೆ?
44 For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ವಂದನೆಯ ಧ್ವನಿಯು ನನ್ನ ಕಿವಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದ ಕೂಡಲೇ, ಶಿಶುವು ನನ್ನ ಗರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸದಿಂದ ನಲಿದಾಡಿತು.
45 And blessed [is] she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
ಕರ್ತದೇವರು ತಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದವುಗಳು ನೆರವೇರುವುವು ಎಂದು ನಂಬಿದವಳು ಧನ್ಯಳು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದಳು.
46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
ಆಗ ಮರಿಯಳು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು: “ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಕರ್ತದೇವರನ್ನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸುತ್ತದೆ,
47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
ನನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮವು ನನ್ನ ರಕ್ಷಕ ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.
48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ದಾಸಿಯ ದೀನಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಂದಿನಿಂದ ತಲತಲಾಂತರದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಧನ್ಯಳೆಂದು ಕರೆಯುವರು,
49 For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy [is] his name.
ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಿಯಾದ ದೇವರು ನನಗೆ ಮಹಾಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಅವರ ಹೆಸರು ಪವಿತ್ರವಾದದ್ದು.
50 And his mercy [is] on them that fear him from generation to generation.
ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವರ ಮೇಲೆ, ಅವರ ಕರುಣೆಯು ತಲತಲಾಂತರಗಳಿಗೂ ಇರುವುದು.
51 He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಭುಜಪರಾಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ; ಹೃದಯದ ಯೋಚನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗರ್ವಿಷ್ಠರಾದವರನ್ನು ಚದರಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
52 He hath put down the mighty from [their] seats, and exalted them of low degree.
ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನಗಳಿಂದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ದಬ್ಬಿ, ದೀನರನ್ನು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಎತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.
ಹಸಿದವರನ್ನು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವುಗಳಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿಸಿ, ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತರನ್ನು ಬರಿಗೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
54 He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of [his] mercy;
ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳಾದ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಗೂ ಅವನ ಸಂತತಿಗೂ ತಾವು ವಾಗ್ದಾನಮಾಡಿದ ತಮ್ಮ ನಿತ್ಯ ಕರುಣೆಯನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು, ತಮ್ಮ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನಿಗೆ, ದೇವರು ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.” (aiōn g165)
56 And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned to her own house.
ಮರಿಯಳು ಸುಮಾರು ಮೂರು ತಿಂಗಳು ಎಲಿಸಬೇತಳ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು, ಅನಂತರ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಹೋದಳು.
57 Now Elisabeth’s full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son.
ಎಲಿಸಬೇತಳಿಗೆ ಹೆರಿಗೆಯ ಕಾಲ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಆಕೆಯು ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತಳು.
58 And her neighbours and her cousins heard how the Lord had shewed great mercy upon her; and they rejoiced with her.
ಕರ್ತದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮಹಾಕರುಣೆಯನ್ನು ಆಕೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ತೋರಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಆಕೆಯ ನೆರೆಯವರೂ ಬಂಧುಗಳೂ ಕೇಳಿ, ಆಕೆಯ ಕೂಡ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟರು.
59 And it came to pass, that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they called him Zacharias, after the name of his father.
ಅವರು ಎಂಟನೆಯ ದಿನ ಆ ಮಗುವಿಗೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಮಾಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಂದು, ಅವನ ತಂದೆಯ ಹೆಸರಿನಂತೆ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಜಕರೀಯನೆಂದು ನಾಮಕರಣ ಮಾಡಲಿದ್ದರು.
60 And his mother answered and said, Not [so]; but he shall be called John.
ಆದರೆ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಶಿಶುವಿನ ತಾಯಿಯು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ! ಅವನಿಗೆ ‘ಯೋಹಾನ’ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಡಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದಳು.
61 And they said unto her, There is none of thy kindred that is called by this name.
ಬಂದಿದ್ದವರು ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಬಂಧುಬಳಗದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಹೆಸರಿನವರು ಒಬ್ಬರೂ ಇಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲಾ,” ಎಂದರು.
62 And they made signs to his father, how he would have him called.
ಶಿಶುವನ್ನು ಯಾವ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದ ಕರೆಯಬೇಕೆಂದು, ಅವನ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಅವರು ಸನ್ನೆಮಾಡಿದರು.
63 And he asked for a writing table, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marvelled all.
ಆಗ ಜಕರೀಯನು ಒಂದು ಬರೆಯುವ ಹಲಗೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ, “ಶಿಶುವಿನ ಹೆಸರು ಯೋಹಾನ,” ಎಂದು ಬರೆದನು. ಆಗ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
64 And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue [loosed], and he spake, and praised God.
ಕೂಡಲೇ ಜಕರೀಯನಿಗೆ ಮಾತು ಬಂತು, ಅವನ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯು ಸಡಿಲವಾಯಿತು, ಅವನು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡಿದನು.
65 And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Judæa.
ಈ ಘಟನೆಯಿಂದ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ವಾಸಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಭಯವುಂಟಾಯಿತು, ಯೂದಾಯದ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಪ್ರಾಂತದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾತನಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
66 And all they that heard [them] laid [them] up in their hearts, saying, What manner of child shall this be! And the hand of the Lord was with him.
ಕೇಳಿದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ವಿಸ್ಮಯಗೊಂಡು, “ಈ ಮಗುವು ಎಂಥವನಾಗುವನೋ?” ಎಂದು ತಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ಹಸ್ತವು ಈ ಮಗುವಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಇತ್ತು.
67 And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,
ಆಗ ಮಗುವಿನ ತಂದೆ ಜಕರೀಯನು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮಭರಿತನಾಗಿ ಹೀಗೆಂದು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿದನು:
68 Blessed [be] the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
“ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಕರ್ತದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರವಾಗಲಿ, ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಜನರನ್ನು ಸಂಧಿಸಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ವಿಮೋಚಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;
ಪುರಾತನದಿಂದ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸೇವಕ ದಾವೀದನ ಮನೆತನದಿಂದ, ನಮಗಾಗಿ ಬಲವಾದ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಕರ್ತದೇವರನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. (aiōn g165)
71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;
ಇದನ್ನು, ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ಶತ್ರುಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಮಾಡುವವರ ಕೈಯಿಂದಲೂ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಹೊಂದುವಂತೆಯೂ
72 To perform the mercy [promised] to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;
ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳಿಗೆ ಕರುಣೆ ತೋರಿಸುವಂತೆಯೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃವಾದ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಗೆ ಆಣೆಯಿಟ್ಟು ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದಂತೆಯೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ತಂದುಕೊಂಡವನಾಗಿಯೂ
73 The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,
74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಹೊಂದಿ ನಿರ್ಭಯವುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿಯೂ
75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.
ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವಮಾನದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಪವಿತ್ರತೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ನೀತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಅವರನ್ನೇ ಸೇವಿಸುವವರಾಗುವಂತೆಯೂ ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
76 And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
“ನನ್ನ ಮಗುವೇ, ನೀನಾದರೋ ಮಹೋನ್ನತರ ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ಎಂದು ಎನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆ. ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ, ನೀನು ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ, ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗುವೆ.
77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,
ನೀನು ಜನರ ಪಾಪಕ್ಷಮಾಪಣೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಹೊಂದುವ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವೆ,
78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,
ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಮಮತೆಯ ಕರುಣೆಯಿಂದಲೇ, ಸ್ವರ್ಗದಿಂದ ನಮಗೆ ಅರುಣೋದಯವು ಉಂಟಾಗಿ
79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and [in] the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
ಕತ್ತಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮರಣದ ನೆರಳಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ವಾಸಿಸುವವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿಸಿ, ನಮ್ಮ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಾನದ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವೆ.”
80 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.
ಆ ಶಿಶುವಾದ ಯೋಹಾನನು ಬೆಳೆದು, ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲಗೊಂಡು; ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ತೋರ್ಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ದಿನದವರೆಗೆ ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದನು.
