Luke 4
1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
さてイエス聖 靈にて滿ち、ヨルダン河より歸り、荒野にて四十 日のあひだ御靈に導かれ、
2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.
惡魔に試みられ給ふ。この間なにをも食はず、日 數 滿ちてのち餓ゑ給ひたれば、
3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.
惡魔いふ『なんぢ若し神の子ならば、此の石に命じてパンと爲らしめよ』
4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
イエス答へたまふ『「人の生くるはパンのみに由るにあらず」と録されたり』
5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
惡魔またイエスを携へのぼりて、瞬間に天下のもろもろの國を示して言ふ、
6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
『この凡ての權威と國々の榮華とを汝に與へん。我これを委ねられたれば、我が欲する者に與ふるなり。
7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
この故にもし我が前に拜せば、ことごとく汝の有となるべし』
8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
イエス答へて言ひたまふ『「主なる汝の神を拜し、ただ之にのみ事ふべし」と録されたり』
9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:
惡魔またイエスをエルサレムに連れゆき、宮の頂上に立たせて言ふ『なんぢ若し神の子ならば、此處より己が身を下に投げよ。
10 For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:
それは「なんぢの爲に御使たちに命じて守らしめ給はん」
11 And in [their] hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
「かれら手にて汝をささへ、その足を石に打當つる事なからしめん」と録されたるなり』
12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
イエス答へて言ひたまふ『「主なる汝の神を試むべからず」と云ひてあり』
13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.
惡魔あらゆる嘗試を盡してのち、暫くイエスを離れたり。
14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
イエス御靈の能力をもてガリラヤに歸り給へば、その聲聞あまねく四方の地に弘る。
15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
かくて諸 會堂にて教をなし、凡ての人に崇められ給ふ。
16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
偖その育てられ給ひし處のナザレに到り、例のごとく安息 日に會堂に入りて、聖書を讀まんとて立ち給ひしに、
17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
預言者イザヤの書を與へたれば、其の書を繙きて、かく録されたる所を見出し給ふ。
18 The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
『主の御靈われに在す。これ我に油を注ぎて貧しき者に福音を宣べしめ、我をつかはして囚人に赦を得ることと、盲人に見ゆることとを告げしめ、壓へらるる者を放ちて自由を與へしめ、
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
主の喜ばしき年を宣傳へしめ給ふなり』
20 And he closed the book, and he gave [it] again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
イエス書を卷き、係の者に返して坐し給へば、會堂に居る者みな之に目を注ぐ。
21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
イエス言ひ出でたまふ『この聖書は今日なんぢらの耳に成就したり』
22 And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph’s son?
人々みなイエスを譽め、又その口より出づる惠の言を怪しみて言ふ『これヨセフの子ならずや』
23 And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.
イエス言ひ給ふ『なんぢら必ず我に俚諺を引きて「醫者よ、みづから己を醫せ、カペナウムにて有りしといふ我らが聞ける事どもを、己が郷なる此の地にても爲せ」と言はん』
24 And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.
また言ひ給ふ『われ誠に汝らに告ぐ、預言者は己が郷にて喜ばるることなし。
25 But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;
われ實をもて汝らに告ぐ、エリヤのとき三年 六个月、天とぢて、全地 大なる饑饉なりしが、イスラエルの中に多くの寡婦ありたれど、
26 But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, [a city] of Sidon, unto a woman [that was] a widow.
エリヤは其の一人にすら遣されず、唯シドンなるサレプタの一人の寡婦にのみ遣されたり。
27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.
また預言者エリシヤの時、イスラエルの中に多くの癩病人ありしが、其の一人だに潔められず、唯シリヤのナアマンのみ潔められたり』
28 And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,
會堂にをる者みな之を聞きて憤恚に滿ち、
29 And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.
起ちてイエスを町より逐ひ出し、その町の建ちたる山の崖に引き往きて、投げ落さんとせしに、
30 But he passing through the midst of them went his way,
イエスその中を通りて去り給ふ。
31 And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.
かくてガリラヤの町カペナウムに下りて、安息 日ごとに人を教へ給へば、
32 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.
人々その教に驚きあへり。その言、權威ありたるに因る。
33 And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,
會堂に穢れし惡鬼の靈に憑かれたる人あり、大聲に叫びて言ふ、
34 Saying, Let [us] alone; what have we to do with thee, [thou] Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
『ああ、ナザレのイエスよ、我らは汝となにの關係あらんや。我らを亡さんとて來給ふか。我はなんぢの誰なるを知る、神の聖者なり』
35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.
イエス之を禁めて言ひ給ふ『默せ、その人より出でよ』惡鬼その人を人々の中に倒し、傷つけずして出づ。
36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word [is] this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.
みな驚き語り合ひて言ふ『これ如何なる言ぞ、權威と能力とをもて命ずれば、穢れし惡鬼すら出で去る』
37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.
ここにイエスの噂あまねく四方の地に弘りたり。
38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon’s house. And Simon’s wife’s mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.
イエス會堂を立ち出でて、シモンの家に入り給ふ。シモンの外姑おもき熱を患ひ居たれば、人々これが爲にイエスに願ふ。
39 And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.
その傍らに立ちて熱を責めたまへば、熱 去りて女たちどころに起きて彼らに事ふ。
40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
日のいる時、さまざまの病を患ふ者をもつ人、みな之をイエスに連れ來れば、一々その上に手を置きて醫し給ふ。
41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking [them] suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.
惡鬼もまた多くの人より出でて叫びつつ言ふ『なんぢは神の子なり』之を責めて物 言ふことを免し給はず、惡鬼そのキリストなるを知るに因りてなり。
42 And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them.
明くる朝イエス出でて寂しき處にゆき給ひしが、群衆たづねて御許に到り、その去り往くことを止めんとせしに、
43 And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.
イエス言ひ給ふ『われ又ほかの町々にも神の國の福音を宣傳へざるを得ず、わが遣されしは之が爲なり』
44 And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.
かくてユダヤの諸 會堂にて教を宣べたまふ。
