Luke 10
1 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
এরপর প্রভু আরও বাহাত্তর জনকে নিযুক্ত করলেন এবং যে সমস্ত নগরে ও স্থানে নিজে যাওয়ার পরিকল্পনা করেছিলেন, তার আগেই তিনি দুজন দুজন করে তাঁদের সেইসব স্থানে পাঠিয়ে দিলেন।
2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly [is] great, but the labourers [are] few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
তিনি তাঁদের বললেন, “ফসল প্রচুর, কিন্তু কর্মী সংখ্যা অল্প। তোমরা ফসলের মালিকের কাছে প্রার্থনা করো, যেন তিনি তাঁর শস্যক্ষেত্রে কর্মচারীদের পাঠান।”
3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
তোমরা যাও! আমি নেকড়েদের মধ্যে তোমাদের মেষের মতো পাঠাচ্ছি।
4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
তোমাদের সঙ্গে টাকার থলি, ঝুলি, অথবা চটিজুতো নিয়ো না; পথে কাউকে অভিবাদন জানিয়ো না।
5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace [be] to this house.
“কোনো বাড়িতে প্রবেশ করার সময়, প্রথমে তোমরা বোলো, ‘এই বাড়িতে শান্তি বিরাজ করুক।’
6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
সেখানে কোনো শান্তিপ্রিয় মানুষ থাকলে, তোমাদের শান্তি তার উপর বিরাজ করবে, না থাকলে তোমাদের কাছেই তা ফিরে আসবে।
7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
তোমরা সেই বাড়িতে থেকো, তারা যা দেবেন, তাই খেয়ো ও পান কোরো, কারণ কর্মচারী তার বেতন পাওয়ার যোগ্য। তোমরা এক বাড়ি ছেড়ে অন্য কোনো বাড়িতে আশ্রয় নিয়ো না।
8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
“তোমরা কোনো নগরে প্রবেশ করলে সেখানকার লোক যদি তোমাদের স্বাগত জানিয়ে কিছু খাবার খেতে দেয়, তবে সেই খাবার গ্রহণ কোরো।
9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
সেখানকার পীড়িতদের সুস্থ কোরো। তাদের বোলো, ‘ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য তোমাদের সন্নিকট।’
10 But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,
কিন্তু কোনো নগরে প্রবেশ করার পর লোকে যদি তোমাদের স্বাগত না জানায়, তবে পথে বেরিয়ে পড়ে বোলো,
11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
‘তোমাদের নগরের যে ধুলো আমাদের পায়ে লেগেছিল, তাও আমরা তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধে ঝেড়ে ফেললাম। তবুও তোমরা এ বিষয়ে নিশ্চিতভাবে জেনো, ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য সন্নিকট।’
12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.
আমি তোমাদের বলছি, বিচারদিনে সদোমের দশা, বরং সেই নগরের চেয়ে বেশি সহনীয় হবে।
13 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
“কোরাসীন, ধিক্ তোমাকে! বেথসৈদা, ধিক্ তোমাকে! তোমাদের মধ্যে যেসব অলৌকিক কাজ সম্পন্ন করা হয়েছে, সেসব যদি টায়ার ও সীদোনে করা হত, তারা অনেক আগেই চটবস্ত্র পরে ভস্মে বসে অনুতাপ করত।
14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.
কিন্তু বিচারদিনে টায়ার ও সীদোনের দশা, বরং তোমাদের চেয়ে বেশি সহনীয় হবে।
আর তুমি কফরনাহূম, তুমি কি না স্বর্গ পর্যন্ত উঁচুতে উঠবে? তা নয়, তুমি অধোলোক পর্যন্ত তলিয়ে যাবে। (Hadēs g86)
16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
“যারা তোমাদের কথা শোনে, তারা আমারই কথা শোনে; যারা তোমাদের প্রত্যাখ্যান করে, তারা আমাকেই প্রত্যাখ্যান করে; কিন্তু যে আমাকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করে, সে প্রত্যাখ্যান করে তাঁকেই, যিনি আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন।”
17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
সেই বাহাত্তর জন শিষ্য সানন্দে ফিরে এসে বললেন, “প্রভু, আপনার নামে ভূতেরাও আমাদের অধীনতা স্বীকার করে।”
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
তিনি উত্তর দিলেন, “আমি আকাশ থেকে বিদ্যুতের মতো শয়তানকে পতিত হতে দেখেছি।
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
আমি তোমাদের সাপ ও কাঁকড়াবিছে পায়ের তলায় পিষে মারার এবং শত্রুর সমস্ত ক্ষমতার উপর কর্তৃত্ব করার অধিকার দান করেছি। কোনো কিছুই তোমাদের ক্ষতি করতে পারবে না।
20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
কিন্তু আত্মারা তোমাদের বশীভূত হয় বলে উল্লসিত হোয়ো না, বরং স্বর্গে তোমাদের নাম লেখা হয়েছে বলে উল্লসিত হও।”
21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
সেই সময় যীশু পবিত্র আত্মার মাধ্যমে আনন্দে পরিপূর্ণ হয়ে বললেন, “হে পিতা, তুমি স্বর্গ ও পৃথিবীর প্রভু, আমি তোমার প্রশংসা করি, কারণ তুমি এই সমস্ত বিষয় বিজ্ঞ ও শিক্ষিত মানুষদের কাছ থেকে গোপন রেখে ছোটো শিশুদের কাছে প্রকাশ করেছ। হ্যাঁ পিতা, কারণ এই ছিল তোমার ঈপ্সিত ইচ্ছা।
22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and [he] to whom the Son will reveal [him.]
“আমার পিতা সবকিছুই আমার হাতে সমর্পণ করেছেন। পুত্রকে কেউ জানে না, কেবলমাত্র পিতা জানেন এবং পিতাকে কেউ জানে না, কেবলমাত্র পুত্র জানেন ও পুত্র যার কাছে তাঁকে প্রকাশ করে, সেই জানে।”
23 And he turned him unto [his] disciples, and said privately, Blessed [are] the eyes which see the things that ye see:
তারপর তিনি শিষ্যদের দিকে ফিরে একান্তে বললেন, “তোমরা যা দেখছ, যারা তা দেখতে পায় ধন্য তাদের চোখ।
24 For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen [them]; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard [them.]
কারণ আমি তোমাদের বলছি, বহু ভাববাদী ও রাজা তা দেখতে চেয়েছিলেন, কিন্তু তাঁরা তা দেখতে পাননি এবং তোমরা যা শুনছ, তাঁরা তা শুনতে চেয়েছিলেন, কিন্তু শুনতে পাননি।”
25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? (aiōnios g166)
একদিন এক শাস্ত্রবিদ যীশুকে পরীক্ষা করার জন্য উঠে দাঁড়িয়ে প্রশ্ন করল, “গুরুমহাশয়, অনন্ত জীবনের অধিকারী হওয়ার জন্য আমাকে কী করতে হবে?” (aiōnios g166)
26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
তিনি উত্তর দিলেন, “বিধানশাস্ত্রে কী লেখা আছে? তুমি কি পাঠ করছ?”
27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
সে উত্তরে বলল, “‘তুমি তোমার সমস্ত হৃদয়, সমস্ত প্রাণ, সমস্ত শক্তি ও সমস্ত মন দিয়ে তোমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুকে প্রেম করবে’; এবং, ‘তোমার প্রতিবেশীকে নিজের মতো প্রেম করবে।’”
28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
যীশু উত্তরে বললেন, “তুমি যথার্থ উত্তর দিয়েছ। তাই করো এবং এতেই তুমি জীবন লাভ করবে।”
29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
কিন্তু সে নিজের সততা প্রতিপন্ন করতে যীশুকে প্রশ্ন করল, “বেশ, আমার প্রতিবেশী কে?”
30 And Jesus answering said, A certain [ man] went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded [him], and departed, leaving [him] half dead.
প্রত্যুত্তরে যীশু বললেন, “এক ইহুদি ব্যক্তি জেরুশালেম থেকে যিরীহোতে নেমে যাচ্ছিল। পথে সে দস্যুদের কবলে পড়ল। তারা তার পোশাক খুলে নিয়ে এবং তাকে মেরে আধমরা করে ফেলে রেখে চলে গেল।
31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
ঘটনাক্রমে একজন যাজক সেই পথ দিয়ে যাচ্ছিল। লোকটিকে দেখে সে রাস্তার অন্য প্রান্ত দিয়ে চলে গেল।
32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked [on him], and passed by on the other side.
সেভাবে একজন লেবীয়ও সেখানে এসে তাকে দেখে অন্য দিক দিয়ে চলে গেল।
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion [on him],
কিন্তু একজন শমরীয় পথ চলতে চলতে, সেই ব্যক্তি যেখানে ছিল, সেখানে এসে পৌঁছাল; তাকে দেখে সে তার প্রতি করুণাবিষ্ট হল।
34 And went to [him], and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
সে তার কাছে গিয়ে ক্ষতস্থানে তেল ও দ্রাক্ষারস লাগিয়ে বেঁধে দিল। তারপর সেই ব্যক্তিকে তার নিজের গাধায় চাপিয়ে একটি পান্থশালায় নিয়ে এসে তার সেবাযত্ন করল।
35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave [them] to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
পরদিন পান্থশালার মালিককে সে দুটি রুপোর মুদ্রা দিল। সে বলল, ‘ওই ব্যক্তির সেবাযত্ন কোরো। এর অতিরিক্ত কিছু ব্যয় হলে, ফেরার পথে আমি পরিশোধ করে দেব।’
36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
“এই তিনজনের মধ্যে কে দস্যুদের হাতে পড়া ওই লোকটির কাছে প্রতিবেশী হয়ে উঠল? তোমার কী মনে হয়?”
37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
সেই শাস্ত্রবিদ উত্তর দিল, “লোকটির প্রতি যে করুণা দেখিয়েছিল, সেই।” যীশু তাকে বললেন, “যাও, ফিরে গিয়ে তুমিও সেরকম করো।”
38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
যীশু শিষ্যদের নিয়ে পথ চলতে চলতে একটি গ্রামে এসে পৌঁছালেন। সেখানে মার্থা নামে এক স্ত্রীলোক তাঁর বাড়িতে তাঁকে স্বাগত জানালেন।
39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.
মরিয়ম নামে তাঁর এক বোন ছিলেন। প্রভুর মুখের বাক্য শোনার জন্য তিনি তাঁর পায়ের কাছে বসলেন।
40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
কিন্তু মার্থা আপ্যায়নের আয়োজন করতে গিয়ে ব্যতিব্যস্ত হয়ে পড়লেন। তিনি যীশুর কাছে এসে বললেন, “প্রভু, আপনি কি দেখতে পাচ্ছেন না, আমার বোন আমার একার উপর সমস্ত কাজের ভার ছেড়ে দিয়েছে? আপনি ওকে বলুন, আমাকে সাহায্য করতে।”
41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
প্রভু উত্তর দিলেন, “মার্থা, মার্থা, তুমি অনেক বিষয়ে উদ্বিগ্ন, আর বিচলিত হয়ে পড়েছ।
42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
কিন্তু প্রয়োজন একটিমাত্র বিষয়ের। মরিয়ম সেই উত্তম বিষয়টিই মনোনীত করেছে, যা তার কাছ থেকে কেড়ে নেওয়া হবে না।”
