Lamentations 5
1 Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.
Wspomnij, Panie! na to, co się nam przydało; wejrzyj a obacz pohańbienie nasze.
2 Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.
Dziedzictwo nasze obrócone jest do obcych, a domy nasze do cudzoziemców.
3 We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers [are] as widows.
Sierotamiśmy a bez ojca; matki nasze są jako wdowy.
4 We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.
Wody nasze za pieniądze pijemy, drwa nasze za pieniądze kupujemy.
5 Our necks [are] under persecution: we labour, [and] have no rest.
Na szyi swej prześladowanie cierpiemy, pracujemy, a nie dadzą nam odpocząć.
6 We have given the hand [to] the Egyptians, [and to] the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.
Egipczykom podajemy rękę i Assyryjczykom, żebyśmy się nasycili chleba.
7 Our fathers have sinned, [and are] not; and we have borne their iniquities.
Ojcowie nasi zgrzeszyli, niemasz ich, a my nieprawość ich ponosimy.
8 Servants have ruled over us: [there is] none that doth deliver [us] out of their hand.
Niewolnicy panują nad nami, niemasz, ktoby nas wybawił z ręki ich.
9 We gat our bread with [the peril of] our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.
Z odwagą duszy naszej szukamy chleba swego dla strachu miecza i na puszczy.
10 Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.
Skóra nasza jako piec zczerniała od srogości głodu.
11 They ravished the women in Zion, [and] the maids in the cities of Judah.
Niewiasty w Syonie pogwałcono; i panny w miastach Judzkich.
12 Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.
Książęta ręką ich powieszeni są, a osoby starszych nie mają w uczciwości.
13 They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.
Młodzięców do żarn biorą, a młodzieniaszkowie po drwami padają.
14 The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick.
Starcy w bramach więcej nie siadają, a młodzieńcy przestali pieśni swoje.
15 The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.
Ustało wesele serca naszego, pląsanie nasze w kwilenie się obróciło.
16 The crown is fallen [from] our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!
Spadła korona z głowy naszej; biada nam, żeśmy zgrzeszyli!
17 For this our heart is faint; for these [things] our eyes are dim.
Dlategoż mdłe jest serce nasze, dlatego zaćmione są oczy nasze;
18 Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.
Dla góry Syońskiej, że jest spustoszona, liszki chodzą po niej.
19 Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.
Ty, Panie! trwasz na wieki, a stolica twoja od narodu do narodu.
20 Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, [and] forsake us so long time?
Przeczże nas na wieki zapominasz, a opuszczasz nas przez tak długi czas?
21 Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.
Nawróć nas do siebie, o Panie! a nawróceni będziemy; odnów dni nasze, jako z dawna były.
22 But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us.
Bo izali nas cale odrzucisz, a gniewać się będziesz na nas tak bardzo?
