Lamentations 5
1 Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.
Aw Angraeng, kaicae nuiah kapha hmuen to poek ah; ka tongh o ih kasae thuihaih hae khen ah loe, poek ah.
2 Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.
Kaicae ih qawk loe minawk ban ah phak boih boeh, kaicae ih imnawk doeh prae kalah kaminawk ban ah phak boih boeh.
3 We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers [are] as widows.
Kaicae loe naqah hoi ampa tawn ai kami ah ni ka oh o boeh, kam nonawk doeh lamhmai ah oh o boeh.
4 We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.
Naek hanah tui to ka qan o moe, tik hanah thing to ka qan o boeh.
5 Our necks [are] under persecution: we labour, [and] have no rest.
Kaicae loe anghak ai ah tok ka sak o, hmuen phawh loiah kaicae ih tahnong loe kong thai ai boeh.
6 We have given the hand [to] the Egyptians, [and to] the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.
Caaknaek khawt buh ka hak o thai hanah, Izip hoi Assyria kaminawk khaeah kang paek o.
7 Our fathers have sinned, [and are] not; and we have borne their iniquities.
Kaicae ampanawk loe zae o moe, om o ai boeh; nihcae zaehaih to ka zok o boeh.
8 Servants have ruled over us: [there is] none that doth deliver [us] out of their hand.
Misongnawk mah kaicae to uk boeh, nihcae ban thung hoi loisak kami to om ai.
9 We gat our bread with [the peril of] our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.
Zit kaom praezaek ih sumsen pongah, kaicae loe duekhaih hoi hinghaih salakah takaw to ka pakrong o.
10 Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.
Zok amthlam loiah kaicae ih nganhin doeh omthuh baktiah amnum boeh.
11 They ravished the women in Zion, [and] the maids in the cities of Judah.
Nihcae mah Zion ih nongpatanawk hoi Judah ih tanglanawk to zae o haih.
12 Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.
Angraengnawk to angmacae ban hoiah bangh o moe, kacoehtanawk to azat thok ah a sak o.
13 They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.
Cang kaeh hanah thendoengnawk to naeh o, nawktanawk to thing aput o sak.
14 The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick.
To khongkha thungah kacoehtanawk akun o sak ai, thendoengnawk doeh katoeng kruek o ai boeh.
15 The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.
Palung anghoehaih azaem ving boeh pongah, hnawhaih doeh palungsethaih ah angcoeng lat boeh.
16 The crown is fallen [from] our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!
Kaicae lu ih angraeng lumuek loe krak ving boeh; ka zae o boeh pongah khosak ka bing o boeh!
17 For this our heart is faint; for these [things] our eyes are dim.
To pongah kaicae ih palungthin loe zai sut boeh; hae hmuennawk pongah kaicae ih mik amtueng ai boeh.
18 Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.
Kami angqai krangah kaom, Zion mae loe tasuinawk mah paqaih o haih boeh.
19 Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.
Aw Angraeng, nang loe dungzan ah na cak poe; na angraeng tangkhang loe adung boih khoek to cak poe.
20 Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, [and] forsake us so long time?
Tipongah kaicae nang pahnet poe moe, atue kasawk ah nang pahnawt ving loe?
21 Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.
Aw Angraeng, kaicae hae nangmah khaeah amlaemsak ah; to tih nahaeloe kam laem o let tih; kaicae ih atuenawk loe canghnii ih atue baktiah omsak let ah.
22 But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us.
Toe kaicae hae nang pahnawt zuep ai moe, palung nang phui thuih hmoek ai nahaeloe, na pathawk let rae ah.
