Lamentations 5
1 Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.
হে সদাপ্রভু, আমাদের প্রতি যা ঘটেছে, তা স্মরণ করো, এদিকে তাকাও, দেখো আমাদের অসম্মান।
2 Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.
আমাদের অধিকার বিজাতীয় লোকদের হাতে, আমাদের ঘরবাড়ি বিদেশিদের দখলে চলে গেছে।
3 We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers [are] as widows.
আমরা অনাথ ও পিতৃহীন হয়েছি, আমাদের মায়েরা বিধবা হয়েছে।
4 We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.
পান করার জলটুকুও আমাদের কিনে খেতে হয়; অর্থ দিলে তবেই আমরা জ্বালানির কাঠ পাই।
5 Our necks [are] under persecution: we labour, [and] have no rest.
যারা আমাদের তাড়া করে, তারা আমাদের ঠিক পিছনেই; আমরা শ্রান্ত-ক্লান্ত এবং এতটুকু বিশ্রাম পাই না।
6 We have given the hand [to] the Egyptians, [and to] the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.
পর্যাপ্ত খাদ্যদ্রব্য পাওয়ার জন্য আমরা মিশর ও আসিরিয়ার কাছে আত্মসমর্পণ করেছি।
7 Our fathers have sinned, [and are] not; and we have borne their iniquities.
আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষেরা পাপ করেছিলেন, কিন্তু তারা আর নেই, তাই আমরা তাদের শাস্তি বহন করছি।
8 Servants have ruled over us: [there is] none that doth deliver [us] out of their hand.
ক্রীতদাসেরা আমাদের উপরে কর্তৃত্ব করে, এবং তাদের হাত থেকে আমাদের উদ্ধার করার জন্য কেউ নেই।
9 We gat our bread with [the peril of] our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.
মরুপ্রান্তরে তরোয়ালের আক্রমণের মধ্যে জীবন বিপন্ন করে আমাদের খাদ্য সংগ্রহ করতে হয়।
10 Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.
আমাদের চামড়া উনুনের মতো তপ্ত, খিদেয় আমাদের জ্বর জ্বর বোধ হয়।
11 They ravished the women in Zion, [and] the maids in the cities of Judah.
সিয়োনে নারীদের অপবিত্র করা হয়েছে, এবং যিহূদার নগরগুলিতে কুমারী-কন্যারা ধর্ষিতা হয়েছে।
12 Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.
রাজপুরুষদের হাত বেঁধে ফাঁসি দেওয়া হয়েছে, প্রাচীন ব্যক্তিদের প্রতি কোনো সম্মান দেখানো হয়নি।
13 They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.
যুবকেরা জাঁতা ঘুরিয়ে কঠোর পরিশ্রম করে; বালকেরা কাঠের ভারী বোঝায় টলমল করে।
14 The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick.
প্রাচীনেরা নগরদ্বার থেকে চলে গেছেন; যুবকেরা তাদের বাজনার শব্দ থামিয়ে দিয়েছে।
15 The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.
আমাদের হৃদয় থেকে আনন্দ চলে গেছে, আমাদের নৃত্য শোকে পরিণত হয়েছে।
16 The crown is fallen [from] our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!
আমাদের মস্তক থেকে মুকুট খসে পড়েছে। ধিক্ আমাদের, কেননা আমরা পাপ করেছি!
17 For this our heart is faint; for these [things] our eyes are dim.
এইসব কারণে আমাদের হৃদয় মূর্ছিত হয়েছে, এইসব কারণে আমাদের চোখের দৃষ্টি ক্ষীণ হয়েছে।
18 Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.
কারণ সিয়োন পর্বত পরিত্যক্ত পড়ে আছে, শিয়ালেরা তার উপরে বিচরণ করে।
19 Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.
হে সদাপ্রভু, তোমার রাজত্ব অনন্তকালীন; তোমার সিংহাসন পুরুষানুক্রমে চিরস্থায়ী।
20 Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, [and] forsake us so long time?
তুমি কেন সবসময় আমাদের ভুলে যাও? কেন তুমি এত দীর্ঘকাল যাবৎ আমাদের পরিত্যাগ করে আছ?
21 Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.
হে সদাপ্রভু, তোমার কাছে আমাদের ফিরিয়ে নাও, যেন আমরা ফিরে আসতে পারি; পুরোনো দিনের মতোই আমাদের অবস্থা নবায়িত করো।
22 But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us.
কিন্তু তুমি যে আমাদের একেবারেই অগ্রাহ্য করেছ, এবং আমাদের উপরে তোমার মাত্রাহীন ক্রোধ রয়েছে।
