Judges 6
1 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years.
௧பின்னும் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் யெகோவாவின் பார்வைக்குத் தீமையானதைச் செய்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது யெகோவா அவர்களை ஏழு வருடங்கள் மீதியானியர்களின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.
2 And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: [and] because of the Midianites the children of Israel made them the dens which [are] in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds.
௨மீதியானியர்களின் கை இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் பெலமாக இருந்தபடியால், இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் மீதியானியர்களினால் தங்களுக்கு மலைகளிலுள்ள கெபிகளையும் குகைகளையும் பாதுகாப்பான இடங்களையும் அடைக்கலங்களாக்கிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
3 And [so] it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them;
௩இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் விதை விதைத்திருக்கும்போது, மீதியானியர்களும் அமலேக்கியர்களும் கிழக்குப்பகுதி மக்களும் அவர்களுக்கு எதிராக எழுந்து வந்து;
4 And they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till thou come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass.
௪அவர்களுக்கு எதிரே முகாமிட்டு, காசாவின் எல்லைவரை நிலத்தின் விளைச்சலைக் கெடுத்து, இஸ்ரவேலிலே ஆகாரத்தையும், ஆடுமாடுகள் கழுதைகளையும்கூட வைக்காமல் போவார்கள்.
5 For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and they came as grasshoppers for multitude; [for] both they and their camels were without number: and they entered into the land to destroy it.
௫அவர்கள் தங்களுடைய மிருகஜீவன்களோடும், தங்களுடைய கூடாரங்களோடும், வெட்டுக்கிளிகளைப்போல திரளாக வருவார்கள்; அவர்களும் அவர்களுடைய ஒட்டகங்களும் எண்ணமுடியாததாக இருக்கும்; இப்படியாக தேசத்தைக் கெடுத்துவிட அதிலே வருவார்கள்.
6 And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the children of Israel cried unto the LORD.
௬இப்படியாக மீதியானியர்களாலே இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் மிகவும் பெலவீனப்பட்டார்கள்; அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் யெகோவாவை நோக்கி முறையிட்டார்கள்.
7 And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD because of the Midianites,
௭இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் மீதியானியர்களினாலே யெகோவாவை நோக்கி முறையிட்டபோது,
8 That the LORD sent a prophet unto the children of Israel, which said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I brought you up from Egypt, and brought you forth out of the house of bondage;
௮யெகோவா ஒரு தீர்க்கதரிசியை அவர்களிடம் அனுப்பினார்; அவன் அவர்களை நோக்கி: இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்: நான் உங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து வரவும், அடிமையாக இருந்த வீட்டிலிருந்து புறப்படவும் செய்து,
9 And I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all that oppressed you, and drave them out from before you, and gave you their land;
௯எகிப்தியர்கள் கைகளிலிருந்தும், உங்களை ஒடுக்கின எல்லோருடைய கைகளிலிருந்தும் உங்களை இரட்சித்து, அவர்களை உங்களுக்கு முன்பாகத் துரத்தி, அவர்கள் தேசத்தை உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்து,
10 And I said unto you, I [am] the LORD your God; fear not the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but ye have not obeyed my voice.
௧0நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா என்றும், நீங்கள் குடியிருக்கும் அவர்கள் தேசத்திலுள்ள எமோரியர்களுடைய தெய்வங்களுக்குப் பயப்படாமல் இருங்கள் என்றும், உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னேன்; நீங்களோ என்னுடைய சொல்லைக் கேட்காமல் போனீர்கள் என்கிறார் என்று சொன்னான்.
11 And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which [was] in Ophrah, that [pertained] unto Joash the Abi-ezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide [it] from the Midianites.
௧௧அதற்குப்பின்பு யெகோவாவுடைய தூதனானவர் வந்து, அபியேஸ்ரியனான யோவாசின் ஊராகிய ஒப்ராவிலிருக்கும் ஒரு கர்வாலிமரத்தின்கீழ் உட்கார்ந்தார்; அப்பொழுது அவனுடைய மகன் கிதியோன் கோதுமையை மீதியானியர்களின் கைக்குத் தப்புவிக்க, ஆலைக்கு அருகில் அதைப் போரடித்தான்.
12 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD [is] with thee, thou mighty man of valour.
௧௨யெகோவாவுடைய தூதனானவர் அவனுக்குத் தரிசனமாகி: பெலசாலியே யெகோவா உன்னோடு இருக்கிறார் என்றார்.
13 And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where [be] all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
௧௩அப்பொழுது கிதியோன் அவரை நோக்கி: ஆ என் ஆண்டவரே, யெகோவா எங்களோடு இருந்தால், இவைகளெல்லாம் எங்களுக்கு ஏன் சம்பவித்தது? யெகோவா எங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து கொண்டுவரவில்லையா என்று எங்களுடைய பிதாக்கள் எங்களுக்கு விவரித்துச்சொன்ன அவருடைய அற்புதங்களெல்லாம் எங்கே? இப்பொழுது யெகோவா எங்களைக் கைவிட்டு, மீதியானியர்களின் கையில் எங்களை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தாரே என்றான்.
14 And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?
௧௪அப்பொழுது யெகோவா அவனை நோக்கிப் பார்த்து: உனக்கு இருக்கிற இந்தப் பெலத்தோடு போ; நீ இஸ்ரவேலை மீதியானியர்களின் கைக்கு விலக்கிக் காப்பாற்றுவாய்; உன்னை அனுப்புகிறவர் நான் அல்லவா என்றார்.
15 And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family [is] poor in Manasseh, and I [am] the least in my father’s house.
௧௫அதற்கு அவன்: ஆ என்னுடைய ஆண்டவரே, நான் இஸ்ரவேலை எதினாலே காப்பாற்றுவேன்; இதோ, மனாசேயில் என்னுடைய குடும்பம் மிகவும் எளியது; என்னுடைய தகப்பன் வீட்டில் நான் எல்லோரிலும் சிறியவன் என்றான்.
16 And the LORD said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.
௧௬அதற்குக் யெகோவா: நான் உன்னோடு இருப்பேன்; ஒரே மனிதனை முறியடிப்பதுபோல நீ மீதியானியர்களை முறியடிப்பாய் என்றார்.
17 And he said unto him, If now I have found grace in thy sight, then shew me a sign that thou talkest with me.
௧௭அப்பொழுது அவன்: உம்முடைய கண்களில் இப்பொழுதும் எனக்குத் தயை கிடைத்ததானால் என்னோடே பேசுகிறவர் தேவரீர்தான் என்று எனக்கு ஒரு அடையாளத்தைக் காண்பிக்கவேண்டும்.
18 Depart not hence, I pray thee, until I come unto thee, and bring forth my present, and set [it] before thee. And he said, I will tarry until thou come again.
௧௮நான் உம்மிடத்திற்கு என்னுடைய காணிக்கையைக் கொண்டுவந்து, உமக்கு முன்பாக வைக்கும் வரை, இந்த இடத்தை விட்டுப்போகாதிருப்பீராக என்றான்; அதற்கு அவர்: நீ திரும்பி வரும்வரை நான் இருப்பேன் என்றார்.
19 And Gideon went in, and made ready a kid, and unleavened cakes of an ephah of flour: the flesh he put in a basket, and he put the broth in a pot, and brought [it] out unto him under the oak, and presented [it].
௧௯உடனே கிதியோன் உள்ளே போய், ஒரு வெள்ளாட்டுக்குட்டியையும் ஒரு மரக்கால் மாவிலே புளிப்பில்லாத அப்பங்களையும் ஆயத்தப்படுத்தி, இறைச்சியை ஒரு கூடையில் வைத்து, குழம்பை ஒரு கிண்ணத்தில் ஊற்றி, அதை வெளியே கர்வாலி மரத்தின் கீழே இருக்கிற அவரிடம் கொண்டுவந்து வைத்தான்.
20 And the angel of God said unto him, Take the flesh and the unleavened cakes, and lay [them] upon this rock, and pour out the broth. And he did so.
௨0அப்பொழுது தேவனுடைய தூதனானவர் அவனை நோக்கி: நீ இறைச்சியையும் புளிப்பில்லாத அப்பங்களையும் எடுத்து, இந்தக் கற்பாறையின்மேல் வைத்து குழம்பை ஊற்று என்றார்; அவன் அப்படியே செய்தான்.
21 Then the angel of the LORD put forth the end of the staff that [was] in his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and there rose up fire out of the rock, and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes. Then the angel of the LORD departed out of his sight.
௨௧அப்பொழுது யெகோவாவுடைய தூதன் தமது கையிலிருந்த கோலின் நுனியை நீட்டி, இறைச்சியையும் புளிப்பில்லாத அப்பங்களையும் தொட்டார்; அப்பொழுது அக்கினி கற்பாறையிலிருந்து எழும்பி, இறைச்சியையும் புளிப்பில்லாத அப்பங்களையும் எரித்துப்போட்டது; யெகோவாவின் தூதனோ. அவனுடைய கண்களுக்கு மறைந்துபோனார்.
22 And when Gideon perceived that he [was] an angel of the LORD, Gideon said, Alas, O Lord GOD! for because I have seen an angel of the LORD face to face.
௨௨அப்பொழுது கிதியோன், அவர் யெகோவாவுடைய தூதன் என்று அறிந்து: ஐயோ, யெகோவாவாகிய ஆண்டவரே, நான் யெகோவாவுடைய தூதனை முகமுகமாக பார்த்தேனே என்றான்.
23 And the LORD said unto him, Peace [be] unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die.
௨௩அதற்குக் யெகோவா: உனக்குச் சமாதானம்; பயப்படாதே, நீ சாவதில்லை என்று சொன்னார்.
24 Then Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovah-shalom: unto this day it [is] yet in Ophrah of the Abi-ezrites.
௨௪அங்கே கிதியோன் யெகோவாவுக்கு ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டி, அதற்கு யெகோவா ஷாலோம் என்று பெயரிட்டான்; அது இந்த நாள்வரைக்கும் அபியேஸ்ரியரின் ஊராகிய ஒப்ராவில் இருக்கிறது.
25 And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Take thy father’s young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that [is] by it:
௨௫அன்று இரவிலே யெகோவா அவனை நோக்கி: நீ உன்னுடைய தகப்பனுக்கு இருக்கிற காளைகளில் ஏழுவயதான இரண்டாம் காளையைக் கொண்டுபோய், உன்னுடைய தகப்பனுக்கு இருக்கிற பாகாலின் பலிபீடத்தைத் தகர்த்து, அதின் அருகிலுள்ள தோப்பை வெட்டிப்போட்டு.
26 And build an altar unto the LORD thy God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down.
௨௬இந்தக் கற்பாறையின் உச்சியிலே சரியான ஒரு இடத்தில் உன் யெகோவாவுடைய யெகோவாவுக்கு ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டி, அந்த இரண்டாம் காளையைக் கொண்டு வந்து, அதை நீ வெட்டிப்போட்ட தோப்பினுடைய கட்டை விறகுகளின் மேல் சர்வாங்க தகனமாகப் பலியிடவேண்டும் என்றார்.
27 Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as the LORD had said unto him: and [so] it was, because he feared his father’s household, and the men of the city, that he could not do [it] by day, that he did [it] by night.
௨௭அப்பொழுது கிதியோன், தன்னுடைய வேலையாட்களில் பத்துப்பேரைச் சேர்த்து, யெகோவா தனக்குச் சொன்னபடியே செய்தான்; அவன் தன்னுடைய தகப்பன் குடும்பத்தாருக்கும் அந்த ஊர் மனிதர்களுக்கும் பயந்ததினாலே, அதைப் பகலிலே செய்யாமல், இரவிலே செய்தான்.
28 And when the men of the city arose early in the morning, behold, the altar of Baal was cast down, and the grove was cut down that [was] by it, and the second bullock was offered upon the altar [that was] built.
௨௮அந்த ஊர் மனிதர்கள் காலையில் எழுந்தபோது, இதோ, பாகாலின் பலிபீடம் தகர்க்கப்பட்டும், அதின் அருகிலியிருந்த தோப்பு வெட்டிப்போடப்பட்டும், கட்டப்பட்டிருந்த பலிபீடத்தின் மேல் அந்த இரண்டாம் காளை பலியிடப்பட்டு இருக்கிறதையும் அவர்கள் பார்த்து;
29 And they said one to another, Who hath done this thing? And when they enquired and asked, they said, Gideon the son of Joash hath done this thing.
௨௯ஒருவரையொருவர் நோக்கி: இந்தக் காரியத்தைச் செய்தவன் யார் என்றார்கள்; கேட்டு விசாரிக்கிறபோது, யோவாசின் மகன் கிதியோன் இதைச் செய்தான் என்றார்கள்.
30 Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out thy son, that he may die: because he hath cast down the altar of Baal, and because he hath cut down the grove that [was] by it.
௩0அப்பொழுது ஊர்க்காரர்கள் யோவாசை நோக்கி: உன் மகனை வெளியே கொண்டுவா; அவன் பாகாலின் பலிபீடத்தைத் தகர்த்து, அதின் அருகே இருந்த தோப்பை வெட்டிப்போட்டான், அவன் சாகவேண்டும் என்றார்கள்.
31 And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will ye plead for Baal? will ye save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst [it is yet] morning: if he [be] a god, let him plead for himself, because [one] hath cast down his altar.
௩௧யோவாஸ் தன்னை எதிர்த்து நிற்கிற அனைவரையும் பார்த்து: நீங்களா பாகாலுக்காக வாதாடுவீர்கள்? நீங்களா அதைக் காப்பாற்றுவீர்கள்? அதற்காக வாதாடுகிறவர்கள் இன்று காலையிலே சாகட்டும்; அது தேவனானால் தன்னுடைய பலிபீடத்தைத் தகர்த்ததினால், அதுவே தனக்காக வாதாடட்டும் என்றான்.
32 Therefore on that day he called him Jerubbaal, saying, Let Baal plead against him, because he hath thrown down his altar.
௩௨தன்னுடைய பலிபீடத்தைத் தகர்த்ததினால் பாகால் அவனோடு வாதாடட்டும் என்று சொல்லி, அந்த நாளிலே அவனுக்கு யெருபாகால் என்று பெயர் சூட்டப்பட்டது.
33 Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the children of the east were gathered together, and went over, and pitched in the valley of Jezreel.
௩௩மீதியானியர்களும் அமலேக்கியர்களும் கிழக்கு பகுதியை சேர்ந்த மக்கள் எல்லோரும் ஒன்றாக கூடி, ஆற்றைக் கடந்துவந்து, யெஸ்ரயேல் பள்ளத்தாக்கில் முகாமிட்டார்கள்.
34 But the Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abi-ezer was gathered after him.
௩௪அப்பொழுது யெகோவாவுடைய ஆவியானவர் கிதியோன்மேல் இறங்கினார்; அவன் எக்காளம் ஊதி, அபியேஸ்ரியர்களைக் கூப்பிட்டு, தனக்குப் பின்செல்லும்படி செய்து,
35 And he sent messengers throughout all Manasseh; who also was gathered after him: and he sent messengers unto Asher, and unto Zebulun, and unto Naphtali; and they came up to meet them.
௩௫மனாசே நாடெங்கும் தூதுவர்களை அனுப்பி, அவர்களையும் கூப்பிட்டு, தனக்குப் பின்செல்லும்படி செய்து, ஆசேர், செபுலோன், நப்தலி நாடுகளிலும் ஆட்களை அனுப்பினான்; அவர்களும் அவனுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டு வந்தார்கள்.
36 And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said,
௩௬அப்பொழுது கிதியோன் தேவனை நோக்கி: தேவரீர் சொன்னபடி என்னுடைய கையினாலே இஸ்ரவேலை காப்பாற்றவேண்டுமானால்,
37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; [and] if the dew be on the fleece only, and [it be] dry upon all the earth [beside], then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.
௩௭இதோ, நான் முடியுள்ள ஒரு தோலை கதிரடிக்கும் களத்திலே போடுகிறேன்; பனி தோலின்மேல் மட்டும் பெய்து, பூமியெல்லாம் காய்ந்திருந்தால், அப்பொழுது தேவரீர் சொன்னபடி இஸ்ரவேலை என்னுடைய கையினால் காப்பாற்றுவீர் என்று அதினாலே அறிவேன் என்றான்.
38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.
௩௮அப்படியே ஆனது. அவன் மறுநாள் காலையில் எழுந்து, தோலைக் கசக்கி, அதிலிருந்த பனிநீரை ஒரு கிண்ணம் நிறையப் பிழிந்தான்.
39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew.
௩௯அப்பொழுது கிதியோன் தேவனை நோக்கி: நான் இன்னும் ஒரு முறை மட்டும் பேசுகிறேன், உமது கோபம் என்மேல் வராமல் இருப்பதாக; தோலினாலே நான் இன்னும் ஒரே முறை மட்டும் சோதனைசெய்கிறேன்; தோல் மட்டும் காய்ந்திருக்கவும் பூமியெங்கும் பனி பெய்திருக்கவும் கட்டளையிடும் என்றான்.
40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.
௪0அப்படியே தேவன் அன்று இரவு செய்தார்; தோல்மட்டும் காய்ந்திருந்து, பூமியெங்கும் பனி பெய்திருந்தது.
