Judges 17
1 And there was a man of mount Ephraim, whose name [was] Micah.
১ইফ্রয়িমের পাহাড়ি অঞ্চলে মীখা নামে এক ব্যক্তি ছিল।
2 And he said unto his mother, The eleven hundred [shekels] of silver that were taken from thee, about which thou cursedst, and spakest of also in mine ears, behold, the silver [is] with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed [be thou] of the LORD, my son.
২সে নিজের মাকে বলল, “যে এগারশো রূপার মুদ্রা তোমার কাছ থেকে চুরি গিয়েছিল, যে বিষয়ে তুমি শাপ দিয়েছিলে ও আমাকে বলেছিলে, দেখ, সেই রূপা আমার কাছে আছে, আমিই তা নিয়েছিলাম।” তার মা বলল, “বৎস, তুমি সদাপ্রভুর আশীর্বাদপাত্র হও।”
3 And when he had restored the eleven hundred [shekels] of silver to his mother, his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the silver unto the LORD from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it unto thee.
৩পরে সে ঐ এগারোশো রূপা মুদ্রা মাকে ফিরিয়ে দিলে তার মা বলল, “আমি এই রূপা সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে পবিত্র করছি; আমার ছেলে এটা আমার হাত থেকে নিয়ে, এক ছাঁচে ঢালা ও এক ক্ষোদিত প্রতিমা নির্মাণ করুক। অতএব এখন এটা তোমাকে ফিরিয়ে দিলাম।”
4 Yet he restored the money unto his mother; and his mother took two hundred [shekels] of silver, and gave them to the founder, who made thereof a graven image and a molten image: and they were in the house of Micah.
৪সে নিজের মাকে ঐ রূপা ফিরিয়ে দিলে তার মা দুশো রূপা মুদ্রা নিয়ে স্বর্ণকারকে দিল; আর সে এক ছাঁচে ঢালা ও এক ক্ষোদিত প্রতিমা নির্মাণ করলে তা মীখার ঘরে থাকল।
5 And the man Micah had an house of gods, and made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.
৫ঐ মীখার এক (বিগ্রহ) মন্দির ছিল; আর সে এক এফোদ ও কয়েকটি ঠাকুর নির্মাণ করল এবং নিজের এক ছেলের হাতে দিলে সে তার পুরোহিত হল।
6 In those days [there was] no king in Israel, [but] every man did [that which was] right in his own eyes.
৬ঐ দিনের ইস্রায়েলের মধ্যে রাজা ছিল না, যার দৃষ্টিতে যা ভাল মনে হত, সে তাই করত।
7 And there was a young man out of Beth-lehem-judah of the family of Judah, who [was] a Levite, and he sojourned there.
৭সেই দিন যিহূদা গোষ্ঠীর বৈৎলেহম-যিহূদার একটা লোক ছিল, সে লেবীয়, ও সে সেখানে বাস করছিল।
8 And the man departed out of the city from Beth-lehem-judah to sojourn where he could find [a place: ] and he came to mount Ephraim to the house of Micah, as he journeyed.
৮সেই ব্যক্তি যেখানে জায়গা পেতে পারে, সেখানে বাস করবার জন্য নগর থেকে, বৈৎলেহম-যিহূদা থেকে, চলে গিয়ে ইফ্রয়িমের পাহাড়ি অঞ্চলে ঐ মীখার বাড়িতে পৌঁছালেন।
9 And Micah said unto him, Whence comest thou? And he said unto him, I [am] a Levite of Beth-lehem-judah, and I go to sojourn where I may find [a place].
৯মীখা তাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করল, “তুমি কোথা থেকে আসলে?” সে তাকে বলল, “আমি বৈৎলেহম-যিহূদার এক জন লেবীয়; যেখানে জায়গা পাই, সেখানে বাস করতে যাচ্ছি।”
10 And Micah said unto him, Dwell with me, and be unto me a father and a priest, and I will give thee ten [shekels] of silver by the year, and a suit of apparel, and thy victuals. So the Levite went in.
১০মীখা তাকে বলল, “তুমি আমার এখানে থাক, আমার বাবা ও পুরোহিত হও, আমি বছরে তোমাকে দশটা রূপার মুদ্রা, এক জোড়া বস্ত্র ও তোমার খাদ্য দ্রব্য দেব।” তাতে সেই লেবীয় ভিতরে গেল।
11 And the Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was unto him as one of his sons.
১১সেই লেবীয় তার সেখানে থাকতে রাজি হল; আর এই যুবক তার এক ছেলের মত হল।
12 And Micah consecrated the Levite; and the young man became his priest, and was in the house of Micah.
১২পরে মীখা সেই লেবীয়ের পাওনা হাতে দিল, আর সেই যুবক মীখার পুরোহিত হয়ে তার বাড়িতে থাকল।
13 Then said Micah, Now know I that the LORD will do me good, seeing I have a Levite to [my] priest.
১৩তখন মীখা বলল, “এখন আমি জানলাম যে, সদাপ্রভু আমার মঙ্গল করবেন, যেহেতু এক জন লেবীয় আমার পুরোহিত হয়েছে।”
