Joshua 15

1 [This] then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; [even] to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward [was] the uttermost part of the south coast.

१यहूदियों के गोत्र का भाग उनके कुलों के अनुसार चिट्ठी डालने से एदोम की सीमा तक, और दक्षिण की ओर सीन के जंगल तक जो दक्षिणी सीमा पर है ठहरा।

2 And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward:

२उनके भाग का दक्षिणी सीमा खारे ताल के उस सिरेवाले कोल से आरम्भ हुई जो दक्षिण की ओर बढ़ी है;

3 And it went out to the south side to Maaleh-acrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadesh-barnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:

३और वह अक्रब्बीम नामक चढ़ाई के दक्षिणी ओर से निकलकर सीन होते हुए कादेशबर्ने के दक्षिण की ओर को चढ़ गयी, फिर हेस्रोन के पास हो अद्दार को चढ़कर कर्काआ की ओर मुड़ गयी,

4 [From thence] it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.

४वहाँ से अस्मोन होते हुए वह मिस्र के नाले पर निकली, और उस सीमा का अन्त समुद्र हुआ। तुम्हारी दक्षिणी सीमा यही होगी।

5 And the east border [was] the salt sea, [even] unto the end of Jordan. And [their] border in the north quarter [was] from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:

५फिर पूर्वी सीमा यरदन के मुहाने तक खारा ताल ही ठहरी, और उत्तर दिशा की सीमा यरदन के मुहाने के पास के ताल के कोल से आरम्भ करके,

6 And the border went up to Beth-hogla, and passed along by the north of Beth-arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:

६बेथोग्ला को चढ़ते हुए बेतराबा की उत्तर की ओर होकर रूबेनी बोहन नामक पत्थर तक चढ़ गया;

7 And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that [is] before the going up to Adummim, which [is] on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of En-shemesh, and the goings out thereof were at En-rogel:

७और वही सीमा आकोर नामक तराई से दबीर की ओर चढ़ गया, और उत्तर होते हुए गिलगाल की ओर झुकी जो तराई के दक्षिणी ओर की अदुम्मीम की चढ़ाई के सामने है; वहाँ से वह एनशेमेश नामक सोते के पास पहुँचकर एनरोगेल पर निकला;

8 And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same [is] Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that [lieth] before the valley of Hinnom westward, which [is] at the end of the valley of the giants northward:

८फिर वही सीमा हिन्नोम के पुत्र की तराई से होकर यबूस (जो यरूशलेम कहलाता है) उसकी दक्षिण की ओर से बढ़ते हुए उस पहाड़ की चोटी पर पहुँचा, जो पश्चिम की ओर हिन्नोम की तराई के सामने और रपाईम की तराई के उत्तरी सिरे पर है;

9 And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which [is] Kirjath-jearim:

९फिर वही सीमा उस पहाड़ की चोटी से नेप्तोह नामक सोते को चला गया, और एप्रोन पहाड़ के नगरों पर निकला; फिर वहाँ से बाला को (जो किर्यत्यारीम भी कहलाता है) पहुँचा;

10 And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which [is] Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed on to Timnah:

१०फिर वह बाला से पश्चिम की ओर मुड़कर सेईर पहाड़ तक पहुँचा, और यारीम पहाड़ (जो कसालोन भी कहलाता है) उसके उत्तरी ओर से होकर बेतशेमेश को उतर गया, और वहाँ से तिम्नाह पर निकला;

11 And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.

११वहाँ से वह सीमा एक्रोन की उत्तरी ओर के पास होते हुए शिक्करोन गया, और बाला पहाड़ होकर यब्नेल पर निकला; और उस सीमा का अन्त समुद्र का तट हुआ।

12 And the west border [was] to the great sea, and the coast [thereof]. This [is] the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

१२और पश्चिम की सीमा महासमुद्र का तट ठहरा। यहूदियों को जो भाग उनके कुलों के अनुसार मिला उसकी चारों ओर की सीमा यही हुई।

13 And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, [even] the city of Arba the father of Anak, which [city is] Hebron.

१३और यपुन्ने के पुत्र कालेब को उसने यहोवा की आज्ञा के अनुसार यहूदियों के बीच भाग दिया, अर्थात् किर्यतअर्बा जो हेब्रोन भी कहलाता है (वह अर्बा अनाक का पिता था)।

14 And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

१४और कालेब ने वहाँ से शेशै, अहीमन, और तल्मै नामक, अनाक के तीनों पुत्रों को निकाल दिया।

15 And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before [was] Kirjath-sepher.

१५फिर वहाँ से वह दबीर के निवासियों पर चढ़ गया; पूर्वकाल में तो दबीर का नाम किर्यत्सेपेर था।

16 And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjath-sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

१६और कालेब ने कहा, “जो किर्यत्सेपेर को मारकर ले ले उससे मैं अपनी बेटी अकसा को ब्याह दूँगा।”

17 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

१७तब कालेब के भाई ओत्नीएल कनजी ने उसे ले लिया; और उसने उसे अपनी बेटी अकसा को ब्याह दिया।

18 And it came to pass, as she came [unto him], that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off [her] ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou?

१८जब वह उसके पास आई, तब उसने उसको पिता से कुछ भूमि माँगने को उभारा, फिर वह अपने गदहे पर से उतर पड़ी, और कालेब ने उससे पूछा, “तू क्या चाहती है?”

19 Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.

१९वह बोली, “मुझे आशीर्वाद दे; तूने मुझे दक्षिण देश में की कुछ भूमि तो दी है, मुझे जल के सोते भी दे।” तब उसने ऊपर के सोते, नीचे के सोते, दोनों उसे दिए।

20 This [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.

२०यहूदियों के गोत्र का भाग तो उनके कुलों के अनुसार यही ठहरा।

21 And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,

२१यहूदियों के गोत्र के किनारे-वाले नगर दक्षिण देश में एदोम की सीमा की ओर ये हैं, अर्थात् कबसेल, एदेर, यागूर,

22 And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,

२२कीना, दीमोना, अदादा,

23 And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,

२३केदेश, हासोर, यित्नान,

24 Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,

२४जीप, तेलेम, बालोत,

25 And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, [and] Hezron, which [is] Hazor,

२५हासोर्हदत्ता, करिय्योथेस्रोन (जो हासोर भी कहलाता है),

26 Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,

२६और अमाम, शेमा, मोलादा,

27 And Hazar-gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-palet,

२७हसर्गद्दा, हेशमोन, बेत्पेलेत,

28 And Hazar-shual, and Beer-sheba, and Bizjothjah,

२८हसर्शूआल, बेर्शेबा, बिज्योत्या,

29 Baalah, and Iim, and Azem,

२९बाला, इय्यीम, एसेम,

30 And Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,

३०एलतोलद, कसील, होर्मा,

31 And Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah,

३१सिकलग, मदमन्ना, सनसन्ना,

32 And Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities [are] twenty and nine, with their villages:

३२लबाओत, शिल्हीम, ऐन, और रिम्मोन; ये सब नगर उनतीस हैं, और इनके गाँव भी हैं।

33 [And] in the valley, Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,

३३तराई में ये हैं अर्थात् एश्ताओल, सोरा, अश्ना,

34 And Zanoah, and En-gannim, Tappuah, and Enam,

३४जानोह, एनगन्नीम, तप्पूह, एनाम,

35 Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,

३५यर्मूत, अदुल्लाम, सोको, अजेका,

36 And Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages:

३६शारैंम, अदीतैम, गदेरा, और गदेरोतैम; ये सब चौदह नगर हैं, और इनके गाँव भी हैं।

37 Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdal-gad,

३७फिर सनान, हदाशा, मिगदलगाद,

38 And Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,

३८दिलान, मिस्पे, योक्तेल,

39 Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,

३९लाकीश, बोस्कत, एग्लोन,

40 And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,

४०कब्बोन, लहमास, कितलीश,

41 And Gederoth, Beth-dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages:

४१गदेरोत, बेतदागोन, नामाह, और मक्केदा; ये सोलह नगर हैं, और इनके गाँव भी हैं।

42 Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,

४२फिर लिब्ना, एतेर, आशान,

43 And Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,

४३इप्ताह, अश्ना, नसीब,

44 And Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages:

४४कीला, अकजीब और मारेशा; ये नौ नगर हैं, और इनके गाँव भी हैं।

45 Ekron, with her towns and her villages:

४५फिर नगरों और गाँवों समेत एक्रोन,

46 From Ekron even unto the sea, all that [lay] near Ashdod, with their villages:

४६और एक्रोन से लेकर समुद्र तक, अपने-अपने गाँवों समेत जितने नगर अश्दोद की ओर हैं।

47 Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border [thereof: ]

४७फिर अपने-अपने नगरों और गाँवों समेत अश्दोद और गाज़ा, वरन् मिस्र के नाले तक और महासमुद्र के तट तक जितने नगर हैं।

48 And in the mountains, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,

४८पहाड़ी देश में ये हैं अर्थात् शामीर, यत्तीर, सोको,

49 And Dannah, and Kirjath-sannah, which [is] Debir,

४९दन्ना, किर्यत्सन्ना (जो दबीर भी कहलाता है),

50 And Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,

५०अनाब, एश्तमो, आनीम,

51 And Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages:

५१गोशेन, होलोन और गीलो; ये ग्यारह नगर हैं, और इनके गाँव भी हैं।

52 Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean,

५२फिर अराब, दूमा, एशान,

53 And Janum, and Beth-tappuah, and Aphekah,

५३यानीम, बेत्तप्पूह, अपेका,

54 And Humtah, and Kirjath-arba, which [is] Hebron, and Zior; nine cities with their villages:

५४हुमता, किर्यतअर्बा (जो हेब्रोन भी कहलाता है, और सीओर; ) ये नौ नगर हैं, और इनके गाँव भी हैं।

55 Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah,

५५फिर माओन, कर्मेल, जीप, युत्ता,

56 And Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,

५६यिज्रेल, योकदाम, जानोह,

57 Cain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages:

५७कैन, गिबा, और तिम्नाह; ये दस नगर हैं और इनके गाँव भी हैं।

58 Halhul, Beth-zur, and Gedor,

५८फिर हलहूल, बेतसूर, गदोर,

59 And Maarath, and Beth-anoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages:

५९मरात, बेतनोत और एलतकोन; ये छः नगर हैं और इनके गाँव भी हैं।

60 Kirjath-baal, which [is] Kirjath-jearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages:

६०फिर किर्यतबाल (जो किर्यत्यारीम भी कहलाता है) और रब्बाह; ये दो नगर हैं, और इनके गाँव भी हैं।

61 In the wilderness, Beth-arabah, Middin, and Secacah,

६१जंगल में ये नगर हैं अर्थात् बेतराबा, मिद्दीन, सकाका;

62 And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and En-gedi; six cities with their villages.

६२निबशान, नमक का नगर और एनगदी, ये छः नगर हैं और इनके गाँव भी हैं।

63 As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.

६३यरूशलेम के निवासी यबूसियों को यहूदी न निकाल सके; इसलिए आज के दिन तक यबूसी यहूदियों के संग यरूशलेम में रहते हैं।
