John 8
1 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.
१येशू जैतूनाच्या डोंगराकडे गेला,
2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.
२नंतर पहाटेस तो पुन्हा परमेश्वराच्या भवनात आला, तेव्हा सर्व लोक त्याच्याकडे आले आणि तो बसून त्यांना शिकवू लागला.
3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
३तेव्हा व्यभिचार करत असतांना धरलेल्या एका स्त्रीला नियमशास्त्राचे शिक्षक व परूशी यांनी त्याच्याकडे आणले व तिला मध्यभागी उभे करून ते त्यास म्हणाले,
4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
४“गुरूजी, ही स्त्री व्यभिचार करीत असताना धरण्यात आली.
5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
५मोशेने नियमशास्त्रात आम्हास अशी आज्ञा दिली आहे की, अशांना दगडमार करावी, तर आपण हिच्याविषयी काय म्हणता?”
6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with [his] finger wrote on the ground, [ as though he heard them not].
६त्यास दोष लावायला आपणास काहीतरी मिळावे म्हणून त्याची परीक्षा पाहण्याकरता ते असे म्हणाले. पण येशू खाली आणून आपल्या बोटाने जमिनीवर लिहू लागला.
7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
७आणि ते त्यास एकसारखे विचारत असता तो उठून त्यांना म्हणाला, “तुमच्यात जो कोणी निष्पाप असेल त्याने प्रथम तिच्यावर एक दगड टाकावा.”
8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
८मग तो पुन्हा खाली ओणवून जमिनीवर लिहू लागला.
9 And they which heard [it], being convicted by [their own] conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, [even] unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
९हे शब्द ऐकून वृद्धातल्या वृद्धापासून तो सरळ शेवटल्या मनुष्यापर्यंत ते सर्व एकामागून एक निघून गेले, येशू एकटा राहिला आणि ती स्त्री मध्यभागी उभी होती.
10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
१०नंतर येशू उठला व त्या स्त्रीशिवाय तेथे कोणीही नाही असे पाहून तिला म्हणाला, “मुली, तुला दोष देणारे कोठे आहेत? तुला कोणी दंड ठरवला नाही काय?”
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
११ती म्हणाली, “प्रभूजी, कोणी नाही.” तेव्हा येशू तिला म्हणाला, “मी देखील तुला दोषी ठरवीत नाही; जा, यापुढे पाप करू नको.”
12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
१२पुढे येशू पुन्हा त्यांना म्हणाला, “मीच जगाचा प्रकाश आहे; जो मला अनुसरतो तो अंधारात चालणारच नाही, तर त्याच्याजवळ जीवनाचा प्रकाश राहील.”
13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.
१३यावरुन परूशी त्यास म्हणाले, “तुम्ही स्वतःविषयी साक्ष देता, तुमची साक्ष खरी नाही.”
14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, [yet] my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
१४येशूने त्यांना उत्तर देऊन म्हटले, “मी स्वतःविषयी साक्ष दिली तरी माझी साक्ष खरी आहे, कारण मी कोठून आलो आणि कोठे जाणार हे मला माहीत आहे; पण मी कोठून आलो आणि कोठे जाणार हे तुम्हास माहीत नाही.
15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
१५तुम्ही देहानुसार न्याय करता; मी कुणाचा न्याय करीत नाही.
16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
१६आणि जरी मी कोणाचा न्याय करतो, तरी माझा न्याय खरा आहे कारण मी एकटा नाही तर मी आहे व ज्याने मला पाठवले तोसुध्दा आहे.
17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
१७तुमच्या नियमशास्त्रात असे लिहिले आहे की, दोघा मनुष्यांची साक्ष खरी आहे.
18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
१८मी स्वतःविषयी साक्ष देणारा आहे आणि ज्या पित्याने मला पाठवले आहे तोसुध्दा माझ्याविषयी साक्ष देतो.”
19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
१९यावरुन ते त्यास म्हणाले, “तुमचा पिता कोठे आहे?” येशूने उत्तर दिले, “तुम्ही मला किंवा माझ्या पित्यालाही ओळखत नाही. तुम्ही मला ओळखले असते तर माझ्या पित्यालाही ओळखले असते.”
20 These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.
२०तो परमेश्वराच्या भवनात शिकवीत असताही वचने जामदारखान्यात बोलला; पण कोणीही त्याच्यावर हात टाकले नाहीत, कारण त्याची वेळ अजून आलेली नव्हती.
21 Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.
२१पुन्हा तो त्यांना म्हणाला, “मी निघून जातो आणि तुम्ही माझा शोध कराल व तुम्ही आपल्या पापात मराल, मी जेथे जातो तिकडे तुम्ही येऊ शकत नाही.”
22 Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.
२२यावर यहूदी म्हणाले, “हा आत्महत्या करणार काय? कारण हा म्हणतो की, मी जाईन तिथे तुम्हास येता येणार नाही.”
23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
२३तो त्यांना म्हणाला, “तुम्ही खालचे आहात, मी वरचा आहे; तुम्ही या जगाचे आहा, मी या जगाचा नाही.
24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am [he], ye shall die in your sins.
२४म्हणून मी तुम्हास सांगितले की, तुम्ही तुमच्या पापात मराल; कारण, मी तो आहे असा तुम्ही विश्वास न धरल्यास तुम्ही आपल्या पापात मराल.”
25 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even [the same] that I said unto you from the beginning.
२५यावरुन ते त्यास म्हणाले, “तू कोण आहेस?” येशू त्यांना म्हणाला, “पहिल्यापासून तुम्हास जे सांगत आलो तेच नाही का?
26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.
२६मला तुमच्याविषयी पुष्कळ बोलायचे आहे व न्यायनिवाडा करायचा आहे, पण ज्याने मला पाठवले तो खरा आहे आणि ज्या गोष्टी मी त्याच्याकडून ऐकल्या त्या मी जगाला सांगतो.”
27 They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.
२७तो त्यांच्याशी पित्याविषयी बोलत होता हे त्यांना कळले नाही.
28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am [he], and [that] I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
२८तेव्हा येशू त्यांना म्हणाला, “तुम्ही जेव्हा मनुष्याच्या पुत्राला उंच कराल तेव्हा तुम्हास हे कळेल की तो मी आहे आणि मी स्वतः काही करीत नाही तर पित्याने मला सांगितल्याप्रमाणे मी हे करतो.
29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
२९ज्याने मला पाठवले तो माझ्याबरोबर आहे; त्याने मला एकटे सोडले नाही; कारण मी नेहमी त्यास आवडणार्‍या गोष्टी करतो.”
30 As he spake these words, many believed on him.
३०येशू हे बोलत असता पुष्कळ जणांनी त्याच्यावर विश्वास ठेवला.
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, [then] are ye my disciples indeed;
३१ज्या यहूद्यांनी त्याच्यावर विश्वास ठेवला त्यांना येशू म्हणाला, “तुम्ही माझ्या वचनात राहिला तर खरोखर माझे शिष्य आहात.
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
३२तुम्हास सत्य समजेल आणि सत्य तुम्हास बंधनमुक्त करील.”
33 They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
३३त्यांनी त्यास उत्तर दिले, “आम्ही अब्राहामाचे वंशज आहोत आणि कधीही कोणाचे दास झालो नाही. तुम्ही आम्हास कसे म्हणता की, तुम्ही स्वतंत्र केले जाल?”
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
३४येशूने त्यांना उत्तर दिले, “मी तुम्हास खरे खरे सांगतो, जो कोणी पाप करतो तो पापाचा दास आहे.
३५दास सर्वकाळ घरात राहत नाही; पुत्र सर्वकाळ घरात राहत. (aiōn g165)
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
३६म्हणून जर पुत्राने तुम्हास बंधनमुक्त केले तर तुम्ही, खरोखर, बंधनमुक्त व्हाल.
37 I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.
३७मी जाणतो की, तुम्ही अब्राहामाचे वंशज आहात, तरी तुमच्यामध्ये माझ्या वचनाला जागा नाही, म्हणून तुम्ही मला जीवे मारायला पाहता.
38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
३८मी पित्याजवळ जे पाहिले ते बोलतो, तसेच तुम्ही आपल्या पित्याकडून जे ऐकले ते करता.”
39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
३९त्यांनी त्यास उत्तर दिले, “अब्राहाम आमचा पिता आहे.” येशू त्यांना म्हणाला, “तुम्ही अब्राहामाची मुले आहात तर अब्राहामाची कृत्ये कराल.
40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
४०परंतु ज्याने देवापासून ऐकलेले सत्य तुम्हास सांगितले त्या मनुष्यास म्हणजे मला तुम्ही आता ठार मारायला पाहता. अब्राहामाने असे केले नाही.
41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, [even] God.
४१तुम्ही आपल्या पित्याच्या कृत्ये करता.” ते त्यास म्हणाले, “आमचा जन्म व्यभिचारापासून झाला नाही. आम्हास एकच पिता म्हणजे देव आहे.”
42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
४२येशूने त्यांना म्हटले, “देव जर तुमचा पिता असता तर तुम्ही माझ्यावर प्रीती केली असती; कारण मी देवापासून निघालो व आलो, मी स्वतः होऊन आलो नाही, पण त्याने मला पाठवले.
43 Why do ye not understand my speech? [even] because ye cannot hear my word.
४३तुम्ही माझे बोलणे का समजून घेत नाही? याचे कारण हेच की, तुमच्याकडून माझे वचन ऐकवत नाही.
44 Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
४४तुम्ही आपला पिता सैतान यापासून झाला आहात आणि तुमच्या पित्याच्या वासनांप्रमाणे करू पाहता. तो प्रारंभापासून मनुष्य घात करणारा होता आणि तो सत्यात टिकला नाही, कारण त्याच्यामध्ये सत्य नाही. तो जेव्हा खोटे बोलतो तेव्हा तो स्वतःचे बोलतो, कारण तो लबाड व लबाडीचा पिता आहे.
45 And because I tell [you] the truth, ye believe me not.
४५पण मी तुम्हास खरे सांगतो म्हणून तुम्ही माझ्यावर विश्वास ठेवत नाही.
46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?
४६तुमच्यातला कोण मला पापी ठरवतो? मी खरे सांगत असता तुम्ही माझ्यावर का विश्वास ठेवत नाही?
47 He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear [them] not, because ye are not of God.
४७देवापासून असणारा देवाची वचने ऐकतो. तुम्ही देवापासून नाही म्हणून तुम्ही ऐकत नाही.”
48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?
४८यहूद्यांनी त्यास उत्तर देऊन म्हटले, “तुम्ही शोमरोनी आहात व तुम्हास भूत लागले आहे, हे जे आम्ही म्हणतो ते बरोबर आहे की नाही?”
49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.
४९येशूने त्यांना उत्तर दिले, “मला भूत लागले नाही; तर मी आपल्या पित्याचा सन्मान करतो आणि तुम्ही माझा अपमान करता.
50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.
५०मी स्वतःचे गौरव करू पाहत नाही; ते पाहणारा व न्यायनिवाडा करणारा आहेच.
५१मी तुम्हास खरे खरे सांगतो, जर कोणी माझे वचने पाळील तर त्यास मरणाचा अनुभव कधीही येणार नाही.” (aiōn g165)
52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death. (aiōn g165)
५२यहूदी लोक त्यास म्हणाले, “आता आम्हास कळले की, तुम्हास भूत लागले आहे. अब्राहाम मरण पावला आणि संदेष्टेही मरण पावले; आणि तुम्ही म्हणता की, कोणी माझे वचन पाळील तर तो कधी मरण अनुभवणार नाही. (aiōn g165)
53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?
५३आमचा पिता अब्राहाम मरण पावला; त्याच्यापेक्षा तुम्ही मोठे आहात काय? आणि संदेष्टेही मरण पावले; तुम्ही स्वतःला काय समजता?”
54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:
५४येशूने उत्तर दिले, “मी स्वतःचे गौरव केले तर माझे गौरव काहीच नाही, माझे गौरव करणारा माझा स्वर्गीय पिता आहे, तो आमचा देव आहे असे तुम्ही त्याच्याविषयी म्हणता.
55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.
५५तरी तुम्ही त्यास ओळखले नाही, मी त्यास ओळखतो आणि मी त्यास ओळखत नाही असे जर मी म्हणेन, तर मी तुमच्यासारखा लबाड ठरेन. पण, मी त्यास ओळखतो आणि त्याचे वचन पाळतो.
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw [it], and was glad.
५६माझा दिवस बघायला तुमचा पिता अब्राहाम उल्लसीत झाला; तो त्याने पाहिला व त्यास आनंद झाला.”
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
५७यहूदी त्यास म्हणाले, “तुम्हास अजून पन्नास वर्षे झाली नाहीत आणि तुम्ही अब्राहामाला पाहिले आहे काय?”
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
५८येशू त्यांना म्हणाला, “मी तुम्हास खरे खरे सांगतो, अब्राहामाचा जन्म झाला त्यापुर्वी मी आहे.”
59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
५९यावरुन त्यांनी त्यास मारायला दगड उचलले, पण येशू परमेश्वराच्या भवनामधून गुप्तपणे निघून गेला.
