John 5
1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
Depois d'isto havia uma festa entre os judeos, e Jesus subiu a Jerusalem.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep [market] a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
Ora em Jerusalem ha, proximo á porta das ovelhas, um tanque, chamado em hebreo Bethesda, o qual tem cinco alpendres.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
N'este jazia grande multidão de enfermos; cegos, mancos e resicados, esperando o movimento das aguas.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
Porque um anjo descia em certo tempo ao tanque, e agitava a agua; e o primeiro que ali descia, depois do movimento da agua, sarava de qualquer enfermidade que tivesse.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
E estava ali um certo homem que, havia trinta e oito annos, se achava enfermo.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time [in that case], he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
E Jesus, vendo este deitado, e, sabendo que estava n'este estado havia muito tempo, disse-lhe: Queres ficar são?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
O enfermo respondeu-lhe: Senhor, não tenho homem algum que, quando a agua é agitada, me metta no tanque; mas, emquanto eu vou, desce outro adiante de mim.
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
Jesus disse-lhe: Levanta-te, toma a tua cama, e anda.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
Logo aquelle homem ficou são; e tomou a sua cama, e partiu. E aquelle dia era sabbado.
10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry [thy] bed.
Depois os judeos disseram áquelle que tinha sido curado: É sabbado, não te é licito levar a cama.
11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
Elle respondeu-lhes: Aquelle que me curou, esse disse: Toma a tua cama, e anda.
12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
Perguntaram-lhe pois: Quem é o homem que te disse: Toma a tua cama, e anda?
13 And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in [that] place.
E o que fôra curado não sabia quem era; porque Jesus se havia retirado, porquanto n'aquelle logar havia grande multidão.
14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
Depois Jesus encontrou-o no templo, e disse-lhe: Eis que já estás são; não peques mais, para que te não succeda alguma coisa peior.
15 The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.
E aquelle homem foi, e annunciou aos judeos que Jesus era o que o curára.
16 And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.
E por isso os judeos perseguiram a Jesus, e procuravam matal-o; porque fazia estas coisas no sabbado.
17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
E Jesus lhes respondeu: Meu Pae obra até agora, e eu obro tambem.
18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
Por isso pois os judeos ainda mais procuravam matal-o, porque não só quebrantava o sabbado, mas tambem dizia que Deus era seu proprio Pae, fazendo-se egual a Deus.
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
Mas Jesus respondeu, e disse-lhes: Na verdade, na verdade vos digo que o Filho por si mesmo não pode fazer coisa alguma, se o não vir fazer ao Pae; porque tudo quanto elle faz o Filho o faz egualmente.
20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
Porque o Pae ama o Filho, e mostra-lhe todas as coisas que faz; e elle lhe mostrará maiores obras do que estas, para que vos maravilheis.
21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth [them]; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
Porque, como o Pae resuscita os mortos, e os vivifica, assim tambem o Filho vivifica aquelles que quer.
22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
Porque tambem o Pae a ninguem julga, mas deu ao Filho todo o juizo;
23 That all [men] should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
Para que todos honrem o Filho, como honram o Pae. Quem não honra o Filho, não honra o Pae que o enviou.
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (aiōnios g166)
Na verdade, na verdade vos digo que quem ouve a minha palavra, e crê n'aquelle que me enviou, tem a vida eterna, e não entrará em condemnação, mas passou da morte para a vida (aiōnios g166)
25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
Em verdade, em verdade vos digo que vem a hora, e agora é, em que os mortos ouvirão a voz do Filho de Deus, e os que a ouvirem viverão.
26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
Porque, como o Pae tem a vida em si mesmo, assim deu tambem ao Filho ter a vida em si mesmo.
27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
E deu-lhe o poder de exercer o juizo, porque é o Filho do homem.
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
Não vos maravilheis d'isto; porque vem a hora em que todos os que estão nos sepulchros ouvirão a sua voz.
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
E os que fizeram o bem sairão para a resurreição da vida; e os que fizeram o mal para a resurreição da condemnação.
30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
Eu não posso de mim mesmo fazer coisa alguma: como ouço, assim julgo; e o meu juizo é justo, porque não busco a minha vontade, mas a vontade do Pae que me enviou.
31 If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
Se eu testifico de mim mesmo, o meu testemunho não é verdadeiro.
32 There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.
Ha outro que testifica de mim, e sei que o testemunho que elle dá de mim é verdadeiro.
33 Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth.
Vós mandastes a João, e elle deu testemunho da verdade.
34 But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved.
Eu, porém, não recebo testemunho de homem; mas digo isto, para que vos salveis.
35 He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
Elle era a candeia ardente e resplandecente; e vós quizestes alegrar-vos por um pouco de tempo com a sua luz.
36 But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.
Mas eu tenho maior testemunho do que o de João; porque as obras que o Pae me deu que cumprisse, as mesmas obras que eu faço, testificam de mim, que o Pae me enviou.
37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
E o Pae, que me enviou, elle mesmo testificou de mim. Vós nunca ouvistes a sua voz, nem vistes o seu parecer;
38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
E a sua palavra não permanece em vós; porque n'aquelle que elle enviou não crêdes vós
39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. (aiōnios g166)
Examinae as Escripturas; porque vós cuidaes ter n'ellas a vida eterna, e são ellas que de mim testificam. (aiōnios g166)
40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
E não quereis vir a mim para terdes vida.
41 I receive not honour from men.
Eu não recebo a honra dos homens;
42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
Mas bem vos conheço, que não tendes em vós o amor de Deus.
43 I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
Eu vim em nome de meu Pae, e não me acceitaes; se outro vier em seu proprio nome, a esse acceitareis.
44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that [cometh] from God only?
Como podeis vós crêr, recebendo honra uns dos outros, e não buscando a honra que vem só de Deus?
45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is [one] that accuseth you, [even] Moses, in whom ye trust.
Não cuideis que eu vos hei de accusar para com o Pae. Ha um que vos accusa, Moysés, em quem vós esperaes.
46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
Porque, se vós cresseis em Moysés, crerieis em mim; porque de mim escreveu elle.
47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
Porém, se não crêdes nos seus escriptos, como crereis nas minhas palavras?
