John 12
1 Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.
१फिर यीशु फसह से छः दिन पहले बैतनिय्याह में आया, जहाँ लाज़र था; जिसे यीशु ने मरे हुओं में से जिलाया था।
2 There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.
२वहाँ उन्होंने उसके लिये भोजन तैयार किया, और मार्था सेवा कर रही थी, और लाज़र उनमें से एक था, जो उसके साथ भोजन करने के लिये बैठे थे।
3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.
३तब मरियम ने जटामासी का आधा सेर बहुमूल्य इत्र लेकर यीशु के पाँवों पर डाला, और अपने बालों से उसके पाँव पोंछे, और इत्र की सुगन्ध से घर सुगन्धित हो गया।
4 Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s [son], which should betray him,
४परन्तु उसके चेलों में से यहूदा इस्करियोती नामक एक चेला जो उसे पकड़वाने पर था, कहने लगा,
5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?
५“यह इत्र तीन सौ दीनार में बेचकर गरीबों को क्यों न दिया गया?”
6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.
६उसने यह बात इसलिए न कही, कि उसे गरीबों की चिन्ता थी, परन्तु इसलिए कि वह चोर था और उसके पास उनकी थैली रहती थी, और उसमें जो कुछ डाला जाता था, वह निकाल लेता था।
7 Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.
७यीशु ने कहा, “उसे मेरे गाड़े जाने के दिन के लिये रहने दे।
8 For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.
८क्योंकि गरीब तो तुम्हारे साथ सदा रहते हैं, परन्तु मैं तुम्हारे साथ सदा न रहूँगा।”
9 Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.
९यहूदियों में से साधारण लोग जान गए, कि वह वहाँ है, और वे न केवल यीशु के कारण आए परन्तु इसलिए भी कि लाज़र को देखें, जिसे उसने मरे हुओं में से जिलाया था।
10 But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;
१०तब प्रधान याजकों ने लाज़र को भी मार डालने की सम्मति की।
11 Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.
११क्योंकि उसके कारण बहुत से यहूदी चले गए, और यीशु पर विश्वास किया।
12 On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
१२दूसरे दिन बहुत से लोगों ने जो पर्व में आए थे, यह सुनकर, कि यीशु यरूशलेम में आ रहा है।
13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed [is] the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
१३उन्होंने खजूर की डालियाँ लीं, और उससे भेंट करने को निकले, और पुकारने लगे, “होशाना! धन्य इस्राएल का राजा, जो प्रभु के नाम से आता है।”
14 And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,
१४जब यीशु को एक गदहे का बच्चा मिला, तो वह उस पर बैठा, जैसा लिखा है,
15 Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.
१५“हे सिय्योन की बेटी, मत डर; देख, तेरा राजा गदहे के बच्चे पर चढ़ा हुआ चला आता है।”
16 These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and [that] they had done these things unto him.
१६उसके चेले, ये बातें पहले न समझे थे; परन्तु जब यीशु की महिमा प्रगट हुई, तो उनको स्मरण आया, कि ये बातें उसके विषय में लिखी हुई थीं; और लोगों ने उससे इस प्रकार का व्यवहार किया था।
17 The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record.
१७तब भीड़ के लोगों ने जो उस समय उसके साथ थे यह गवाही दी कि उसने लाज़र को कब्र में से बुलाकर, मरे हुओं में से जिलाया था।
18 For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle.
१८इसी कारण लोग उससे भेंट करने को आए थे क्योंकि उन्होंने सुना था, कि उसने यह आश्चर्यकर्म दिखाया है।
19 The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.
१९तब फरीसियों ने आपस में कहा, “सोचो, तुम लोग कुछ नहीं कर पा रहे हो; देखो, संसार उसके पीछे हो चला है।”
20 And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:
२०जो लोग उस पर्व में आराधना करने आए थे उनमें से कई यूनानी थे।
21 The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.
२१उन्होंने गलील के बैतसैदा के रहनेवाले फिलिप्पुस के पास आकर उससे विनती की, “श्रीमान हम यीशु से भेंट करना चाहते हैं।”
22 Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.
२२फिलिप्पुस ने आकर अन्द्रियास से कहा; तब अन्द्रियास और फिलिप्पुस ने यीशु से कहा।
23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
२३इस पर यीशु ने उनसे कहा, “वह समय आ गया है, कि मनुष्य के पुत्र कि महिमा हो।
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
२४मैं तुम से सच-सच कहता हूँ, कि जब तक गेहूँ का दाना भूमि में पड़कर मर नहीं जाता, वह अकेला रहता है परन्तु जब मर जाता है, तो बहुत फल लाता है।
25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. (aiōnios g166)
२५जो अपने प्राण को प्रिय जानता है, वह उसे खो देता है; और जो इस जगत में अपने प्राण को अप्रिय जानता है; वह अनन्त जीवन के लिये उसकी रक्षा करेगा। (aiōnios g166)
26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will [my] Father honour.
२६यदि कोई मेरी सेवा करे, तो मेरे पीछे हो ले; और जहाँ मैं हूँ वहाँ मेरा सेवक भी होगा; यदि कोई मेरी सेवा करे, तो पिता उसका आदर करेगा।
27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.
२७“अब मेरा जी व्याकुल हो रहा है। इसलिए अब मैं क्या कहूँ? ‘हे पिता, मुझे इस घड़ी से बचा?’ परन्तु मैं इसी कारण इस घड़ी को पहुँचा हूँ।
28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, [saying], I have both glorified [it], and will glorify [it] again.
२८हे पिता अपने नाम की महिमा कर।” तब यह आकाशवाणी हुई, “मैंने उसकी महिमा की है, और फिर भी करूँगा।”
29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard [it], said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.
२९तब जो लोग खड़े हुए सुन रहे थे, उन्होंने कहा; कि बादल गरजा, औरों ने कहा, “कोई स्वर्गदूत उससे बोला।”
30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.
३०इस पर यीशु ने कहा, “यह शब्द मेरे लिये नहीं परन्तु तुम्हारे लिये आया है।
31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
३१अब इस जगत का न्याय होता है, अब इस जगत का सरदारनिकाल दिया जाएगा।
32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all [men] unto me.
३२और मैं यदि पृथ्वी पर से ऊँचे पर चढ़ाया जाऊँगा, तो सब को अपने पास खीचूँगा।”
33 This he said, signifying what death he should die.
३३ऐसा कहकर उसने यह प्रगट कर दिया, कि वह कैसी मृत्यु से मरेगा।
34 The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man? (aiōn g165)
३४इस पर लोगों ने उससे कहा, “हमने व्यवस्था की यह बात सुनी है, कि मसीह सर्वदा रहेगा, फिर तू क्यों कहता है, कि मनुष्य के पुत्र को ऊँचे पर चढ़ाया जाना अवश्य है? यह मनुष्य का पुत्र कौन है?” (aiōn g165)
35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
३५यीशु ने उनसे कहा, “ज्योति अब थोड़ी देर तक तुम्हारे बीच में है, जब तक ज्योति तुम्हारे साथ है तब तक चले चलो; ऐसा न हो कि अंधकार तुम्हें आ घेरे; जो अंधकार में चलता है वह नहीं जानता कि किधर जाता है।
36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
३६जब तक ज्योति तुम्हारे साथ है, ज्योति पर विश्वास करो कि तुम ज्योति के सन्तान बनो।” ये बातें कहकर यीशु चला गया और उनसे छिपा रहा।
37 But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:
३७और उसने उनके सामने इतने चिन्ह दिखाए, तो भी उन्होंने उस पर विश्वास न किया;
38 That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
३८ताकि यशायाह भविष्यद्वक्ता का वचन पूरा हो जो उसने कहा: “हे प्रभु, हमारे समाचार पर किसने विश्वास किया है? और प्रभु का भुजबल किस पर प्रगट हुआ?”
39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
३९इस कारण वे विश्वास न कर सके, क्योंकि यशायाह ने यह भी कहा है:
40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with [their] eyes, nor understand with [their] heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
४०“उसने उनकी आँखें अंधी, और उनका मन कठोर किया है; कहीं ऐसा न हो, कि आँखों से देखें, और मन से समझें, और फिरें, और मैं उन्हें चंगा करूँ।”
41 These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
४१यशायाह ने ये बातें इसलिए कहीं, कि उसने उसकी महिमा देखी; और उसने उसके विषय में बातें की।
42 Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess [him], lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
४२तो भी सरदारों में से भी बहुतों ने उस पर विश्वास किया, परन्तु फरीसियों के कारण प्रगट में नहीं मानते थे, ऐसा न हो कि आराधनालय में से निकाले जाएँ।
43 For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
४३क्योंकि मनुष्यों की प्रशंसा उनको परमेश्वर की प्रशंसा से अधिक प्रिय लगती थी।
44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.
४४यीशु ने पुकारकर कहा, “जो मुझ पर विश्वास करता है, वह मुझ पर नहीं, वरन् मेरे भेजनेवाले पर विश्वास करता है।
45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.
४५और जो मुझे देखता है, वह मेरे भेजनेवाले को देखता है।
46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
४६मैं जगत में ज्योति होकर आया हूँ ताकि जो कोई मुझ पर विश्वास करे, वह अंधकार में न रहे।
47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
४७यदि कोई मेरी बातें सुनकर न माने, तो मैं उसे दोषी नहीं ठहराता, क्योंकि मैं जगत को दोषी ठहराने के लिये नहीं, परन्तु जगत का उद्धार करने के लिये आया हूँ।
48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
४८जो मुझे तुच्छ जानता है और मेरी बातें ग्रहण नहीं करता है उसको दोषी ठहरानेवाला तो एक है: अर्थात् जो वचन मैंने कहा है, वह अन्तिम दिन में उसे दोषी ठहराएगा।
49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
४९क्योंकि मैंने अपनी ओर से बातें नहीं की, परन्तु पिता जिसने मुझे भेजा है उसी ने मुझे आज्ञा दी है, कि क्या-क्या कहूँ और क्या-क्या बोलूँ?
