John 12
1 Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.
越節前六天，耶穌來到伯達尼，就是耶穌從死者中喚起納匝祿的地方。
2 There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.
有人在那裡為他擺設了晚宴，瑪爾大伺候，而納匝祿也是和耶穌一起坐席的一位。
3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.
那時，瑪利亞拿了一斤極珍貴的純「拿爾多」香液，敷抹了耶穌的腳，並用自己的頭髮擦乾，屋裏便充滿了香液的氣味。
4 Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s [son], which should betray him,
那要負賣耶穌的依斯加略猶達斯──即他的一個門徒──便說:
5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?
「為什麼不把這香液去賣三白塊「德納」，施捨給窮人呢？」
6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.
他說這話，並不是因為他關心窮人，只因為他是個賊，掌管錢囊，常偷取其中所存放的。
7 Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.
耶穌就說: 「由她罷！這原是她我安葬之日而保存的。
8 For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.
你們常有窮人和你們在一起；至於我，你們卻不常。」
9 Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.
有許多猶太人聽說耶穌在那裏，就來了，不但是為耶穌，也是為看他從死者中所喚起的拉匝祿。
10 But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;
為此，司祭長議決連拉匝祿也要殺掉，
11 Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.
因為有許多猶太人為了拉匝祿的緣故，離開他們，而信從了耶穌。
12 On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
第二天來過節的群眾，聽說耶穌來到耶路撒冷，
13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed [is] the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
便拿了棕櫚枝，出去迎接他，喊說: 「賀三納！因上主之名而來的，以色列的君王應受稱頌。」
14 And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,
耶穌找了一匹小驢，就騎上去，正如經上所記載的:
15 Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.
「熙雍女子，不要害怕! 你的君王騎著驢駒來了! 」
16 These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and [that] they had done these things unto him.
起初他的門徒也沒明白有這些事，然而，當耶穌受光榮以後，他們才想起這些話是指著他而記載的。為此，他們就這樣對他做了。
17 The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record.
當耶穌叫拉匝祿從墳墓中出來，由死者中喚起他時，那時同他在一起的眾人，都為所見的作證；
18 For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle.
因此，有一群人去迎接他，因為他們聽說他行了這個神跡；
19 The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.
於是法利賽人便彼此說: 「看，你們一無所成！瞧，全世界都跟他去了。」
20 And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:
在那些上來過節，崇拜天主的人中，有些希臘人。
21 The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.
他們來到加利肋亞貝特賽達人斐理伯前，請求他說: 「先生！ 我們願拜見耶穌。」
22 Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.
斐理伯就去告訴安德肋，然後安德肋和斐理伯便來告訴耶穌。
23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
耶穌開口向他們說: 「人子要受光榮的時辰到了。
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
我實實在在告訴你們：一粒麥子如果不落在地裏死了，仍只是一粒；如果死了，才結出許多子粒來。
25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. (aiōnios g166)
愛惜自己性命的，必要喪失性命；在現世憎恨自己性命的，必要保存性命入於永生。 (aiōnios g166)
26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will [my] Father honour.
誰若事奉我，就當跟隨我；如此，我在那裡，我的僕人也要在那裡；誰若事奉我，我父必要尊重他。
27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.
現在我心神煩亂，我可說什麼呢？我說: 父啊！救我脫離這時辰罷？但正是為此，我才到了這時辰。
28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, [saying], I have both glorified [it], and will glorify [it] again.
父啊！光榮你的名罷! 」當時有聲音來自天上： 「我已光榮了我的名，我還要光榮。」
29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard [it], said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.
在場聽見的群眾，便說: 「這是打雷。」另有人說: 「是天使同他說話。」
30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.
耶穌回答說: 「這聲音不是為我而來，而是為你們。
31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
現在就是這世界應受審判的時候，現這世界的元首就要被趕出去；
32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all [men] unto me.
至於我，當我從地上被舉起來時，便要吸引眾人來歸向我。」
33 This he said, signifying what death he should die.
他說這話，是要表明他要以怎樣的死而死。
34 The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man? (aiōn g165)
於是群眾回答他說: 「我們從法律知道: 默西亞要存留到永遠；你怎麼說: 人子必須被舉起呢？這個人子是誰？」 (aiōn g165)
35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
耶穌遂給他們說：「光在你們中間還有片刻。你們趁著還有光的時候，應該行走，免得黑暗籠罩了你們。那在黑暗中行走的，不知道往那裏去。
36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
幾時你們還有光，應當信從光，好成為光明之子。」耶穌講完了這些話，就躲開他們隱藏去了。
37 But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:
耶穌雖然在他們面前行了這麼多的神跡，他們仍然不信不他；
38 That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
這正應驗了依撒意亞先知所說的話: 『上主! 有誰會相信我們的報道呢？上主的手臂又向誰顯示了出來呢？』
39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
他們不能信，因為依撒意亞又說過:
40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with [their] eyes, nor understand with [their] heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
『上主使他們瞎了眼，使他們硬了心，免得他們眼睛看見，心裏覺悟而悔改，使我治好他們。』
41 These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
依撒意亞因為看見了他的光榮，所以指著講了這話。
42 Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess [him], lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
事雖如此，但在首領中，仍有許多人信從了耶穌，只為了法利賽人而不敢明認，免得被逐出會堂，
43 For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
因為他們喜愛世人的光榮，勝過天主的光榮。
44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.
耶穌說: 「信我的，不是信我，而是信那派遣我來的；
45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.
看見我的，也就是看見那派遣我來的。
46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
我身為光明，來到了世界上，使凡信我的，不留在黑暗中。
47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
無論誰，若聽我的話而不遵行，我不審判他，因為我不是為審判世界而來，乃是為拯救世界。
48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
拒絕我，及不接受我話的，自有審判他的: 就是我所說的話，要在末日審判他。
49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
因為我沒有憑我自己說話，而是派遣我來的父，他給我出了命，叫我該說什麼，該講什麼。
