Job 5
1 Call now, if there be any that will answer thee; and to which of the saints wilt thou turn?
१“आता आरोळी मार, तुला उत्तर देईल असा कोण आहे? असा कोण एक धार्मिक आहे का ज्याच्याकडे तू जावे?
2 For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.
२मूर्ख मनुष्याचा राग त्यास मारुन टाकतो, जळफळाट मुर्खाला ठार मारतो.
3 I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
३मी मूर्ख व्यक्तीस मुळावलेले पाहीले, परंतु अचानक मी त्याच्या घराचा तिरस्कार केला.
4 His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither [is there] any to deliver [them].
४त्याची मुले सुरक्षिततेपासून फार दूर आहेत, ते शहराच्या वेशीत चिरडले जातील. त्यांना तारणारा कोणीही राहणार नाही
5 Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh it even out of the thorns, and the robber swalloweth up their substance.
५भुकेल्या मनुष्यांनी त्याची उभी पिके खाऊन टाकली, काट्याकुटयात वाढलेले धान्यही लोकांनी सोडले नाही, लोभी मनुष्यांनी सर्वकाही नेले.
6 Although affliction cometh not forth of the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;
६अडचणी मातीतून येत नाहीत, किंवा संकटे रानातून उगवत नाहीत.
7 Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.
७परंतू जशा ठिणग्या वर उडतात, तसा मनुष्य स्वतःहा विघ्न निर्माण करतो.
8 I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause:
८परंतू माझ्यासाठी, मी स्वतःह देवाकडेच वळलो असतो, त्याच्याकडे मी माझे गाऱ्हाने कबूल केले असते.
9 Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number:
९तो ज्या आश्चर्यकारक गोष्टी करतो, त्याच्या अद्भुत गोष्टींची सीमा नाही.
10 Who giveth rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields:
१०तो पृथ्वीवर पाऊस देतो. आणि शेतांवर पाणी पाठवतो.
11 To set up on high those that be low; that those which mourn may be exalted to safety.
११तो नम्र लोकांस उच्चस्थानी बसवतो आणि जे राखेत बसून शोक करतात त्यांना तो सुरक्षीत उठवतो.
12 He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform [their] enterprise.
१२तो धूर्तांचे कार्य निष्फळ करतो, म्हणजे त्यांच्या हांताचे कट सिध्दीस जाणार नाहीत.
13 He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.
१३तो शहाण्यास त्याच्याच धुर्ततेच्या जाळ्यात अडकवितो, तो हूशार लोंकाच्या मसलती लवकर संपुष्टात आणतो.
14 They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope in the noonday as in the night.
१४त्यांचा भर दिवसाच अंधराशी सामना होतो, दिवसा मध्यान्ह्यात ते रात्र असल्यासारखे चाचपडतात.
15 But he saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.
१५त्यांच्या मुखांतील तलवारीपासून तो दरीद्री मनुष्यास, आणि बलंवताच्या हातातून गरजवंत मनुष्यास सोडवतो
16 So the poor hath hope, and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.
१६म्हणून दरिद्री मनुष्यास आशा आहे, आणि अन्याय आपले तोंड बंद करते.
17 Behold, happy [is] the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:
१७पाहा, ज्या मनुष्याला देव दुरूस्त करतो तो सुखी आहे, म्हणून सर्वशक्तिमानाच्या शिक्षेचा अवमान करु नकोस.
18 For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
१८तोच जखम करतो आणि नंतर तोच पट्टी बांधतो. तो जखमा करतो आणि नंतर त्याच्याच हाताने बरे करतो.
19 He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
१९सहा संकटामधून तो तुझा बचाव करील, खरोखर, सातही संकटात, दुष्ट तुला स्पर्श करणार नाही.
20 In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.
२०दुष्काळात (अवर्षण) तो तुला मृत्यूपासून आणि लढाईत तलवारीपासून वाचवेल.
21 Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
२१जिभेच्या दुःखदायी वाऱ्यापासून तू झाकला जाशील, आणि विनाश तूझ्यावर येईल तेव्हा तू त्यास भिणार नाहीस.
22 At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
२२तू विनाशात व दुष्काळात (अवर्षण) हसशील. आणि तुला रानपशूंची भीती वाटणार नाही.
23 For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.
२३तुझ्या भूमीतील पाषाणाशीही तुझा करार होईल, जंगली पशूशीही तू शांतीने राहशील
24 And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle [shall be] in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin.
२४तुला समजेल तुझा तंबू त्याच्यामध्ये सुरक्षित आहे, तू तुझ्या कळपाची पाहणी करशील आणि तुला काही कमतरता आढळणार नाही.
25 Thou shalt know also that thy seed [shall be] great, and thine offspring as the grass of the earth.
२५तुझे घराणे समृध्द होईल. वनातील कुरणासारखी तुझी संतती वाढेल असे तू पाहाशील.
26 Thou shalt come to [thy] grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season.
२६जशी कापणीच्या वेळी वाळलेली गव्हाची पेंढी मळणीसाठी आणतात तसा तू वयोवृध्द होऊन कबरेत येशील.
27 Lo this, we have searched it, so it [is; ] hear it, and know thou [it] for thy good.
२७पाहा, आम्ही या साऱ्यांचा अभ्यास केला आहे आणि ते सर्व खरे आहे. म्हणून तू आमचे ऐक. आणि त्यातून स्वत: साठी काही शिक.”
