Job 33
1 Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words.
“Entretanto, Job, por favor, ouça meu discurso, e escute todas as minhas palavras.
2 Behold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.
Veja agora, eu abri minha boca. Minha língua falou em minha boca.
3 My words [shall be of] the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.
Minhas palavras dirão a retidão do meu coração. O que meus lábios sabem que falarão com sinceridade.
4 The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
O Espírito de Deus me fez, e o sopro do Todo-Poderoso me dá vida.
5 If thou canst answer me, set [thy words] in order before me, stand up.
Se você puder, responda-me. Ponha suas palavras em ordem diante de mim, e levante-se.
6 Behold, I [am] according to thy wish in God’s stead: I also am formed out of the clay.
Eis que estou para Deus como você está. Eu também sou formado a partir do barro.
7 Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.
Eis que meu terror não vos fará ter medo, nem minha pressão será pesada para você.
8 Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of [thy] words, [saying],
“Certamente você falou na minha audiência, Ouvi a voz de suas palavras, dizendo,
9 I am clean without transgression, I [am] innocent; neither [is there] iniquity in me.
'Eu estou limpo, sem desobediência. Sou inocente, nem há iniqüidade em mim.
10 Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,
Eis que ele encontra ocasiões contra mim. Ele me conta para seu inimigo.
11 He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.
Ele coloca meus pés no estoque. Ele marca todos os meus caminhos”.
12 Behold, [in] this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.
“Eis que lhe responderei. Nisto você não é apenas, pois Deus é maior que o homem.
13 Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.
Por que você se esforça contra ele? porque ele não dá conta de nenhum de seus assuntos?
14 For God speaketh once, yea twice, [yet man] perceiveth it not.
Pois Deus fala uma vez, sim duas vezes, embora o homem não preste atenção.
15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
Em um sonho, em uma visão da noite, quando o sono profundo cai sobre os homens, em adormecer sobre a cama,
16 Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,
então ele abre os ouvidos dos homens, e sela suas instruções,
17 That he may withdraw man [from his] purpose, and hide pride from man.
that ele pode retirar o homem de seu propósito, e esconder o orgulho do homem.
18 He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
Ele mantém sua alma afastada do poço, e sua vida de perecer pela espada.
19 He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong [pain: ]
“Ele é castigado também com dores em sua cama, com contínuas lutas em seus ossos,
20 So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat.
so que sua vida abomina o pão, e sua alma alimento delicado.
21 His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones [that] were not seen stick out.
Sua carne está tão consumida que não pode ser vista. Seus ossos que não foram vistos ressaltam.
22 Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers.
Yes, sua alma se aproxima do poço, e sua vida para os destruidores.
23 If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:
“Se houver ao seu lado um anjo, um intérprete, um entre mil, para mostrar ao homem o que é certo para ele,
24 Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.
então Deus é gracioso com ele, e diz, “Entregá-lo de ir para o poço”, Eu encontrei um resgate”.
25 His flesh shall be fresher than a child’s: he shall return to the days of his youth:
Sua carne será mais fresca que a de uma criança. Ele retorna aos dias de sua juventude.
26 He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.
Ele reza a Deus, e é favorável a ele, para que ele veja seu rosto com alegria. Ele devolve ao homem sua retidão.
27 He looketh upon men, and [if any] say, I have sinned, and perverted [that which was] right, and it profited me not;
Ele canta diante dos homens, e diz, Eu pequei e perverti o que estava certo”, e isso não me beneficiou.
28 He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.
Ele redimiu minha alma de ir para o poço. Minha vida verá a luz”.
29 Lo, all these [things] worketh God oftentimes with man,
“Eis que Deus faz todas estas coisas”, duas, sim três vezes, com um homem,
30 To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.
para trazer sua alma de volta do poço, que ele possa ser iluminado com a luz dos vivos.
31 Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I will speak.
Mark bem, Job, e me escute. Fique tranqüilo, e eu falarei.
32 If thou hast any thing to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee.
Se você tem algo a dizer, responda-me. Fale, pois desejo justificá-lo.
33 If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.
Caso contrário, escute-me. Cale-se e eu lhe ensinarei a sabedoria”.
