Job 22
1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
੧ਫੇਰ ਅਲੀਫਾਜ਼ ਤੇਮਾਨੀ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ,
2 Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?
੨“ਕੀ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਲਈ ਲਾਭਦਾਇਕ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਜੋਗਾ ਹੈ।
3 [Is it] any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or [is it] gain [to him], that thou makest thy ways perfect?
੩ਤੇਰੇ ਧਰਮੀ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ? ਜਾਂ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਖਰੀਆਂ ਚਾਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਲਾਭ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ?
4 Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment?
੪“ਕੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਡਰਨ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਝਿੜਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਕੱਦਮਾ ਲੜਦਾ ਹੈ?
5 [Is] not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite?
੫ਕੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਵੱਡੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਬਦੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਹੱਦ ਹੈ?
6 For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.
੬ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਬੇਵਜ੍ਹਾ ਗਹਿਣੇ ਰੱਖ ਲਈਆਂ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਨੰਗਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵੀ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਲਾਹ ਲਏ ਹਨ।
7 Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.
੭ਤੂੰ ਥੱਕੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਿਲਾਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਟੀ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ।
8 But [as for] the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.
੮ਬਲਵੰਤ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਸ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ-ਪ੍ਰਮੰਨਿਆ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸ ਗਿਆ।
9 Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
੯ਤੂੰ ਵਿਧਵਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਲੀ ਮੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਯਤੀਮਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਭੰਨ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ।
10 Therefore snares [are] round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;
੧੦ਇਸ ਲਈ ਫੰਦੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਭੈਅ ਤੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਘਬਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ!
11 Or darkness, [that] thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee.
੧੧ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਢੱਕ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ?
12 [Is] not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!
੧੨“ਕੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਸਵਰਗ ਦੀ ਉਚਿਆਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ? ਤਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਚਿਆਈ ਵੇਖ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਉੱਚੇ ਹਨ!
13 And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?
੧੩ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ? ਕੀ ਉਹ ਘੁੱਪ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
14 Thick clouds [are] a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.
੧੪ਬੱਦਲਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਘਟਾਂ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਪਰਦਾ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਵੇਖ ਨਾ ਸਕੇ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਮੰਡਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੀ ਚਲਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
15 Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?
੧੫ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਰਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਰੱਖੇਂਗਾ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਚਲਦੇ ਸਨ?
16 Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood:
੧੬ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਗਏ, ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਹ ਦਰਿਆ ਨਾਲ ਰੁੜ੍ਹ ਗਈ,
17 Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them?
੧੭ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਸਾਥੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ! ਅਤੇ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਸਾਡਾ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
18 Yet he filled their houses with good [things: ] but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
੧੮ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਮ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਪਰ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋਵੇ!
19 The righteous see [it], and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn.
੧੯ਧਰਮੀ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦੇ, ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਹਾਸੀ ਉਡਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
20 Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth.
੨੦ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਮਿੱਟ ਗਏ, ਅਤੇ ਅੱਗ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦ-ਖੁਹੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਭੱਖ ਲਿਆ!
21 Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.
੨੧“ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਰਹਿ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਖੀ ਰਹਿ, ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਲਿਆਈ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
22 Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.
੨੨ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਸੁਣ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖ।
23 If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.
੨੩ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲ ਮੁੜੇਂ ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਬਦੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੰਬੂਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਕਰੇਂ, ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇਂਗਾ,
24 Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the [gold] of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.
੨੪ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੋਨਾ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ, ਸਗੋਂ ਓਫੀਰ ਦਾ ਸੋਨਾ ਨਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਥਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਦੇਵੇਂ,
25 Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.
੨੫ਤਾਂ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਆਪ ਤੇਰਾ ਸੋਨਾ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਅਣਮੁੱਲ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
26 For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.
੨੬ਤਦ ਤੂੰ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਹੋਵੇਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲ ਚੁੱਕੇਂਗਾ।
27 Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.
੨੭ਤੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੁਣੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸੁੱਖਣਾ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ।
28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
੨੮ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੂੰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੇਂ, ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਠਹਿਰਾਈ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ, ਅਤੇ ਚਾਨਣ ਤੇਰਿਆਂ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਚਮਕੇਗਾ।
29 When [men] are cast down, then thou shalt say, [There is] lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.
੨੯ਜਦ ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਨੀਵਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਖੇਂਗਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਹੈ! ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਦੀਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਵੇਗਾ।
30 He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.
੩੦ਜੋ ਬੇਦੋਸ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਬਚਾਵੇਗਾ, ਹਾਂ, ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁੱਧਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ।”
