Job 20
1 Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
१तब नामाती सोपर ने कहा,
2 Therefore do my thoughts cause me to answer, and for [this] I make haste.
२“मेरा जी चाहता है कि उत्तर दूँ, और इसलिए बोलने में फुर्ती करता हूँ।
3 I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my understanding causeth me to answer.
३मैंने ऐसी डाँट सुनी जिससे मेरी निन्दा हुई, और मेरी आत्मा अपनी समझ के अनुसार तुझे उत्तर देती है।
4 Knowest thou [not] this of old, since man was placed upon earth,
४क्या तू यह नियम नहीं जानता जो प्राचीन और उस समय का है, जब मनुष्य पृथ्वी पर बसाया गया,
5 That the triumphing of the wicked [is] short, and the joy of the hypocrite [but] for a moment?
५दुष्टों की विजय क्षण भर का होता है, और भक्तिहीनों का आनन्द पल भर का होता है?
6 Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds;
६चाहे ऐसे मनुष्य का माहात्म्य आकाश तक पहुँच जाए, और उसका सिर बादलों तक पहुँचे,
7 [Yet] he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where [is] he?
७तो भी वह अपनी विष्ठा के समान सदा के लिये नाश हो जाएगा; और जो उसको देखते थे वे पूछेंगे कि वह कहाँ रहा?
8 He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.
८वह स्वप्न के समान लोप हो जाएगा और किसी को फिर न मिलेगा; रात में देखे हुए रूप के समान वह रहने न पाएगा।
9 The eye also [which] saw him shall [see him] no more; neither shall his place any more behold him.
९जिसने उसको देखा हो फिर उसे न देखेगा, और अपने स्थान पर उसका कुछ पता न रहेगा।
10 His children shall seek to please the poor, and his hands shall restore their goods.
१०उसके बच्चे कंगालों से भी विनती करेंगे, और वह अपना छीना हुआ माल फेर देगा।
11 His bones are full [of the sin] of his youth, which shall lie down with him in the dust.
११उसकी हड्डियों में जवानी का बल भरा हुआ है परन्तु वह उसी के साथ मिट्टी में मिल जाएगा।
12 Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, [though] he hide it under his tongue;
१२“चाहे बुराई उसको मीठी लगे, और वह उसे अपनी जीभ के नीचे छिपा रखे,
13 [Though] he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his mouth:
१३और वह उसे बचा रखे और न छोड़े, वरन् उसे अपने तालू के बीच दबा रखे,
14 [Yet] his meat in his bowels is turned, [it is] the gall of asps within him.
१४तो भी उसका भोजन उसके पेट में पलटेगा, वह उसके अन्दर नाग का सा विष बन जाएगा।
15 He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.
१५उसने जो धन निगल लिया है उसे वह फिर उगल देगा; परमेश्वर उसे उसके पेट में से निकाल देगा।
16 He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper’s tongue shall slay him.
१६वह नागों का विष चूस लेगा, वह करैत के डसने से मर जाएगा।
17 He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter.
१७वह नदियों अर्थात् मधु और दही की नदियों को देखने न पाएगा।
18 That which he laboured for shall he restore, and shall not swallow [it] down: according to [his] substance [shall] the restitution [be], and he shall not rejoice [therein].
१८जिसके लिये उसने परिश्रम किया, उसको उसे लौटा देना पड़ेगा, और वह उसे निगलने न पाएगा; उसकी मोल ली हुई वस्तुओं से जितना आनन्द होना चाहिये, उतना तो उसे न मिलेगा।
19 Because he hath oppressed [and] hath forsaken the poor; [because] he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not;
१९क्योंकि उसने कंगालों को पीसकर छोड़ दिया, उसने घर को छीन लिया, जिसे उसने नहीं बनाया।
20 Surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save of that which he desired.
२०“लालसा के मारे उसको कभी शान्ति नहीं मिलती थी, इसलिए वह अपनी कोई मनभावनी वस्तु बचा न सकेगा।
21 There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods.
२१कोई वस्तु उसका कौर बिना हुए न बचती थी; इसलिए उसका कुशल बना न रहेगा
22 In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand of the wicked shall come upon him.
२२पूरी सम्पत्ति रहते भी वह सकेती में पड़ेगा; तब सब दुःखियों के हाथ उस पर उठेंगे।
23 [When] he is about to fill his belly, [God] shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him, and shall rain [it] upon him while he is eating.
२३ऐसा होगा, कि उसका पेट भरने पर होगा, परमेश्वर अपना क्रोध उस पर भड़काएगा, और रोटी खाने के समय वह उस पर पड़ेगा।
24 He shall flee from the iron weapon, [and] the bow of steel shall strike him through.
२४वह लोहे के हथियार से भागेगा, और पीतल के धनुष से मारा जाएगा।
25 It is drawn, and cometh out of the body; yea, the glittering sword cometh out of his gall: terrors [are] upon him.
२५वह उस तीर को खींचकर अपने पेट से निकालेगा, उसकी चमकीली नोंक उसके पित्त से होकर निकलेगी, भय उसमें समाएगा।
26 All darkness [shall be] hid in his secret places: a fire not blown shall consume him; it shall go ill with him that is left in his tabernacle.
२६उसके गड़े हुए धन पर घोर अंधकार छा जाएगा। वह ऐसी आग से भस्म होगा, जो मनुष्य की फूँकी हुई न हो; और उसी से उसके डेरे में जो बचा हो वह भी भस्म हो जाएगा।
27 The heaven shall reveal his iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against him.
२७आकाश उसका अधर्म प्रगट करेगा, और पृथ्वी उसके विरुद्ध खड़ी होगी।
28 The increase of his house shall depart, [and his goods] shall flow away in the day of his wrath.
२८उसके घर की बढ़ती जाती रहेगी, वह परमेश्वर के क्रोध के दिन बह जाएगी।
29 This [is] the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God.
२९परमेश्वर की ओर से दुष्ट मनुष्य का अंश, और उसके लिये परमेश्वर का ठहराया हुआ भाग यही है।”
