Job 16
1 Then Job answered and said,
ヨブ答へて曰く
2 I have heard many such things: miserable comforters [are] ye all.
斯る事は我おほく聞り 汝らはみな人を慰めんとして却つて人を煩はす者なり
3 Shall vain words have an end? or what emboldeneth thee that thou answerest?
虚しき言語あに終極あらんや 汝なにに勵されて應答をなすや
4 I also could speak as ye [do: ] if your soul were in my soul’s stead, I could heap up words against you, and shake mine head at you.
我もまた汝らの如くに言ことを得 もし汝らの身わが身と處を換なば我は言語を練て汝らを攻め 汝らにむかひて首を搖ことを得
5 [But] I would strengthen you with my mouth, and the moving of my lips should asswage [your grief].
また口をもて汝らを強くし 唇の慰藉をもて汝らの憂愁を解ことを得るなり
6 Though I speak, my grief is not asswaged: and [though] I forbear, what am I eased?
たとひ我言を出すとも我憂愁は解ず 默するとても何ぞ我身の安くなること有んや
7 But now he hath made me weary: thou hast made desolate all my company.
彼いま已に我を疲らしむ 汝わが宗族をことごとく荒せり
8 And thou hast filled me with wrinkles, [which] is a witness [against me: ] and my leanness rising up in me beareth witness to my face.
なんぢ我をして皺らしめたり 是われに向ひて見證をなすなり 又わが痩おとろへたる状貌わが面の前に現はれ立て我を攻む
9 He teareth [me] in his wrath, who hateth me: he gnasheth upon me with his teeth; mine enemy sharpeneth his eyes upon me.
かれ怒てわれを撕裂きかつ窘しめ 我にむかひて齒を噛鳴し我敵となり目を鋭して我を看る
10 They have gaped upon me with their mouth; they have smitten me upon the cheek reproachfully; they have gathered themselves together against me.
彼ら我にむかひて口を張り 我を賤しめてわが頬を打ち 相集まりて我を攻む
11 God hath delivered me to the ungodly, and turned me over into the hands of the wicked.
神われを邪曲なる者に交し 惡き者の手に擲ちたまへり
12 I was at ease, but he hath broken me asunder: he hath also taken [me] by my neck, and shaken me to pieces, and set me up for his mark.
我は安穩なる身なりしに彼いたく我を打惱まし 頸を執へて我をうちくだき遂に我を立て鵠となしたまひ
13 His archers compass me round about, he cleaveth my reins asunder, and doth not spare; he poureth out my gall upon the ground.
その射手われを遶り圍めり やがて情もなく我腰を射透し わが膽を地に流れ出しめたまふ
14 He breaketh me with breach upon breach, he runneth upon me like a giant.
彼はわれを打敗りて破壞に破壞を加へ 勇士のごとく我に奔かかりたまふ
15 I have sewed sackcloth upon my skin, and defiled my horn in the dust.
われ麻布をわが肌に縫つけ我角を塵にて汚せり
16 My face is foul with weeping, and on my eyelids [is] the shadow of death;
我面は泣て頳くなり 我目縁には死の蔭あり
17 Not for [any] injustice in mine hands: also my prayer [is] pure.
然れども我手には不義あること無く わが祈祷は清し
18 O earth, cover not thou my blood, and let my cry have no place.
地よ我血を掩ふなかれ 我號呼は休む處を得ざれ
19 Also now, behold, my witness [is] in heaven, and my record [is] on high.
視よ今にても我證となる者天にあり わが眞實を表明す者高き處にあり
20 My friends scorn me: [but] mine eye poureth out [tears] unto God.
わが朋友は我を嘲けれども我目は神にむかひて涙を注ぐ
21 O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man [pleadeth] for his neighbour!
願くは彼人のために神と論辨し 人の子のためにこれが朋友と論辨せんことを
22 When a few years are come, then I shall go the way [whence] I shall not return.
數年すぎさらば我は還らぬ旅路に往べし
