Jeremiah 7
1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
യഹോവയിൽനിന്ന് യിരെമ്യാവിനുണ്ടായ അരുളപ്പാട്:
2 Stand in the gate of the LORD’s house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the LORD, all [ye of] Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the LORD.
“യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ കവാടത്തിൽ നിന്നുകൊണ്ട് ഈ വചനം വിളിച്ചുപറയുക: “‘യഹോവയെ ആരാധിക്കുന്നതിന് ഈ വാതിലിൽക്കൂടി പ്രവേശിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാ യെഹൂദരുമേ, യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു കേൾക്കുക.
3 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.
ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നിങ്ങളുടെ വഴികളും പ്രവൃത്തികളും പുനരുദ്ധരിക്കുക; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ഈ സ്ഥലത്തു വസിക്കാൻ ഞാൻ ഇടയാക്കും.
4 Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, [are] these.
“ഇത് യഹോവയുടെ മന്ദിരം, യഹോവയുടെ മന്ദിരം, യഹോവയുടെ മന്ദിരം,” എന്നിങ്ങനെയുള്ള വഞ്ചനനിറഞ്ഞ വാക്കുകളിൽ നിങ്ങൾ ആശ്രയിക്കരുത്.
5 For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour;
എന്നാൽ, നിങ്ങളുടെ വഴികളും പ്രവൃത്തികളും നിങ്ങൾ പൂർണമായും തിരുത്തി, പരസ്പരം നീതിപൂർവം ന്യായപാലനംചെയ്യുമെങ്കിൽ,
6 [If] ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt:
വിദേശികളെയും അനാഥരെയും വിധവകളെയും പീഡിപ്പിക്കാതിരിക്കുമെങ്കിൽ, ഈ സ്ഥലത്ത് നിഷ്കളങ്കരക്തം ചൊരിയാതിരിക്കുമെങ്കിൽ, നിങ്ങളുടെ നാശത്തിനായി അന്യദേവതകളെ സേവിച്ചു ജീവിക്കാതിരിക്കുമെങ്കിൽ,
7 Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.
നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്ക് എന്നേക്കും വസിക്കുന്നതിനു നൽകിയ ഈ ദേശത്ത് ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ജീവിക്കാൻ അനുവദിക്കും.
8 Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.
എന്നാൽ ഇതാ, പ്രയോജനമില്ലാത്ത വ്യാജവാക്കുകളിൽ നിങ്ങൾ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നു.
9 Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not;
“‘നിങ്ങൾ മോഷ്ടിക്കുകയും കൊലചെയ്യുകയും വ്യഭിചരിക്കുകയും വ്യാജശപഥംചെയ്യുകയും ബാലിനു ധൂപംകാട്ടുകയും നിങ്ങൾ അറിയാത്ത അന്യദേവന്മാരെ സേവിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തശേഷം,
10 And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?
എന്റെ നാമം വഹിക്കുന്ന ഈ മന്ദിരത്തിൽ വന്ന് എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നുകൊണ്ട്, “ഞങ്ങൾ സുരക്ഷിതരായിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറയുന്നത് ഈ മ്ലേച്ഛതകൾ ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിനു തന്നെയോ?
11 Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen [it], saith the LORD.
എന്റെ നാമം വഹിക്കുന്ന ഈ മന്ദിരം നിങ്ങൾക്ക് കള്ളന്മാരുടെ ഗുഹയായി തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നോ? എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ വീക്ഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു! എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
12 But go ye now unto my place which [was] in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.
“‘ആദിയിൽ എന്റെ നാമം വഹിച്ചിരുന്ന ശീലോവിൽ എന്റെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദുഷ്ടതനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ അതിനോടു ചെയ്തത് എന്തെന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ പോയി നോക്കുക.
13 And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the LORD, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not;
നിങ്ങൾ ഈ കാര്യങ്ങളെല്ലാം ചെയ്തിരിക്കെ, യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോട് വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും സംസാരിച്ചു, എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ അതു ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചില്ല; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ വിളിച്ചു, നിങ്ങൾ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞില്ല.
14 Therefore will I do unto [this] house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.
അതിനാൽ ഞാൻ ശീലോവിനോടു ചെയ്തത് എന്റെ നാമം വഹിക്കുന്ന ഈ സ്ഥലത്തോടും നിങ്ങൾ ആശ്രയം വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതും നിങ്ങൾക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കും നൽകിയതുമായ ഈ ദൈവാലയത്തോടും ഞാൻ ചെയ്യും.
15 And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, [even] the whole seed of Ephraim.
എഫ്രയീമിന്റെ സന്തതികളായ ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ സഹോദരങ്ങളെയെല്ലാം തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞതുപോലെ, നിങ്ങളെയും എന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്ന് ഞാൻ തള്ളിക്കളയും,’ എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
16 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee.
“അതുകൊണ്ട് നീ ഈ ജനത്തിനുവേണ്ടി പ്രാർഥിക്കരുത്, അവർക്കുവേണ്ടി നിലവിളിക്കുകയോ അപേക്ഷിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുകയുമരുത്. എന്നോട് അപേക്ഷിക്കരുത്; ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേൾക്കുകയില്ല.
17 Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളിലും ജെറുശലേമിന്റെ തെരുവുകളിലും അവർ ചെയ്യുന്നത് നീ കാണുന്നില്ലേ?
18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead [their] dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
എന്റെ ക്രോധം ജ്വലിപ്പിക്കാൻവേണ്ടി അന്യദേവന്മാർക്ക് പാനീയബലികൾ അർപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനും ആകാശരാജ്ഞിക്കു സമർപ്പിക്കാൻ അടകൾ ചുടുന്നതിനും, മക്കൾ വിറകു ശേഖരിക്കുകയും പിതാക്കന്മാർ തീ കത്തിക്കുകയും സ്ത്രീകൾ മാവു കുഴയ്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
19 Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: [do they] not [provoke] themselves to the confusion of their own faces?
എന്നാൽ അവർ എന്നെയാണോ പ്രകോപിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്? അവർ തങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ മുറിപ്പെടുത്തി സ്വന്തം ലജ്ജവരിക്കുകയല്ലേ ചെയ്യുന്നത്, എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
20 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, mine anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.
“അതിനാൽ യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ‘ഇതാ, എന്റെ കോപവും ക്രോധവും ഈ സ്ഥലത്തിന്മേലും ചൊരിയും—മനുഷ്യന്റെമേലും മൃഗത്തിന്റെമേലും വയലിലെ വൃക്ഷങ്ങളുടെമേലും നിലത്തിലെ വിളവിന്മേലും—അത് ജ്വലിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും; കെട്ടുപോകുകയില്ല.
21 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh.
“‘ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളോട് മറ്റു യാഗങ്ങൾ കലർത്തി, മാംസം തിന്നുക.
22 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:
ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ ഈജിപ്റ്റുദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന് അവരോടു സംസാരിച്ചപ്പോൾ, ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചോ, മറ്റു യാഗങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചോ ഞാൻ അവർക്കു കൽപ്പന നൽകിയിട്ടില്ല.
23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ കൽപ്പന കേട്ടനുസരിക്കുക: എന്നെ അനുസരിക്കുക, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ദൈവവും നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്കു ജനവും ആയിരിക്കും. നിങ്ങൾക്കു നന്മയുണ്ടാകേണ്ടതിന് ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത് എല്ലാം അനുസരിച്ചു ജീവിക്കുക.
24 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels [and] in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.
എന്നാൽ അവർ അതു ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുകയോ ചെവിക്കൊള്ളുകയോ ചെയ്യാതെ അവരുടെ ദുഷിച്ച ഹൃദയങ്ങളിലെ ശാഠ്യമുള്ള പ്രവണതകൾ അനുസരിച്ചു. അവർ മുന്നോട്ടല്ല, പിറകോട്ടുതന്നെ പോയി.
25 Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending [them: ]
നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ ഈജിപ്റ്റുദേശംവിട്ട് പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോന്ന ആ കാലംമുതൽ ഇന്നുവരെയും ഞാൻ എന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ എല്ലാ ദിവസവും ഇടതടവിടാതെ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.
26 Yet they hearkened not unto me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did worse than their fathers.
എന്നിട്ടും അവർ എന്റെ വചനം കേൾക്കാതെയും അതിനു ചെവി കൊടുക്കാതെയും ദുശ്ശാഠ്യം കാണിച്ച് തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെക്കാൾ അധികം ദോഷം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.’
27 Therefore thou shalt speak all these words unto them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also call unto them; but they will not answer thee.
“നീ ഈ വചനങ്ങളൊക്കെയും അവരോടു സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോൾ, അവർ നിന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കുകയില്ല; നീ അവരെ വിളിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവർ ഉത്തരം നൽകുകയില്ല.
28 But thou shalt say unto them, This [is] a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
എന്നാൽ നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടത്: ‘ഇതു തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ശബ്ദം അനുസരിക്കുകയോ തെറ്റിൽനിന്ന് പിന്മാറുകയോ ചെയ്യാത്ത ഒരു ജനതയാകുന്നു. സത്യം നശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അത് അവരുടെ അധരങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് നീങ്ങിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു.
29 Cut off thine hair, [O Jerusalem], and cast [it] away, and take up a lamentation on high places; for the LORD hath rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.
“‘നിന്റെ മുടി കത്രിച്ച് ദൂരെ എറിഞ്ഞുകളയുക; മൊട്ടക്കുന്നുകളിൽ ദുഃഖാചരണം നടത്തുക. യഹോവ തന്റെ ക്രോധത്തിനു പാത്രമായ ഈ തലമുറയെ തള്ളിക്കളയുകയും ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
30 For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the LORD: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it.
“‘യെഹൂദാജനം എന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ ദോഷം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്. എന്റെ നാമം വഹിക്കുന്ന ഈ മന്ദിരത്തെ മലിനമാക്കേണ്ടതിന് അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ മ്ലേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ അതിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
31 And they have built the high places of Tophet, which [is] in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded [them] not, neither came it into my heart.
തങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും അഗ്നിയിൽ ദഹിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന് അവർ ബെൻ-ഹിന്നോം താഴ്വരയിലുള്ള തോഫെത്തിൽ, ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ പണിതിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇതു ഞാൻ അവരോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചതല്ല, എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ തോന്നിയതുമല്ല.
32 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall bury in Tophet, till there be no place.
അതിനാൽ അതിനെ തോഫെത്ത് എന്നോ ബെൻ-ഹിന്നോം താഴ്വര എന്നോ അല്ല, കശാപ്പുതാഴ്വര എന്നുതന്നെ വിളിക്കുന്ന കാലം വരുന്നു. സ്ഥലം ഇല്ലാതെയാകുംവരെ അവർ തോഫെത്തിൽത്തന്നെ ശവം അടക്കും, എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
33 And the carcases of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall fray [them] away.
ഈ ജനത്തിന്റെ ശവങ്ങൾ ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികൾക്കും വന്യമൃഗങ്ങൾക്കും ഭക്ഷണമായിത്തീരും; ആരും അവയെ ആട്ടിക്കളയുകയില്ല.
34 Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.
യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും ജെറുശലേമിന്റെ തെരുവീഥികളിൽനിന്നും ആനന്ദഘോഷവും ഉല്ലാസധ്വനിയും മണവാളന്റെയും മണവാട്ടിയുടെയും സ്വരവും ഞാൻ നീക്കിക്കളയും, കാരണം ദേശം വിജനമായിത്തീരും.
