Jeremiah 47

1 The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before that Pharaoh smote Gaza.

൧ഫറവോൻ ഗസ്സയെ തോല്പിച്ചതിനുമുമ്പ് ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെക്കുറിച്ച് യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകനു യഹോവയിങ്കൽ നിന്നുണ്ടായ അരുളപ്പാട്.

2 Thus saith the LORD; Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall be an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is therein; the city, and them that dwell therein: then the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall howl.

൨യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “വടക്കുനിന്നു വെള്ളം പൊങ്ങി കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകുന്ന നദിയാകും; അത് ദേശത്തിന്മേലും അതിലുള്ള എല്ലാറ്റിന്മേലും പട്ടണത്തിന്മേലും അതിൽ പാർക്കുന്നവരുടെ മേലും കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകും; അപ്പോൾ മനുഷ്യർ നിലവിളിക്കും; ദേശനിവാസികൾ സകലരും വിലപിക്കും.

3 At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong [horses], at the rushing of his chariots, [and at] the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers shall not look back to [their] children for feebleness of hands;

൩അവന്റെ ബലമുള്ള കുതിരകളുടെ കുളമ്പടിശബ്ദവും അവന്റെ രഥങ്ങളുടെ ഘോഷവും ചക്രങ്ങളുടെ ആരവവും നിമിത്തം ധൈര്യം ക്ഷയിച്ചിട്ട് അപ്പന്മാർ മക്കളെ തിരിഞ്ഞുനോക്കുകയില്ല.

4 Because of the day that cometh to spoil all the Philistines, [and] to cut off from Tyrus and Zidon every helper that remaineth: for the LORD will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the country of Caphtor.

൪ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ എല്ലാം നശിപ്പിക്കുവാനും സോരിലും സീദോനിലും ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന സകലസഹായികളെയും ഛേദിച്ചുകളയുവാനുമുള്ള ദിവസം വരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു തന്നെ; കഫ്തോർകടല്പുറത്ത് ശേഷിപ്പുള്ള ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ യഹോവ നശിപ്പിക്കും.

5 Baldness is come upon Gaza; Ashkelon is cut off [with] the remnant of their valley: how long wilt thou cut thyself?

൫ഗസ്സയ്ക്ക് കഷണ്ടി ബാധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ താഴ്വരയിലെ ശേഷിപ്പായ അസ്കലോൻ നശിച്ചുപോയി; എത്രത്തോളം നീ നിന്നെത്തന്നെ മുറിവേല്പിക്കും?

6 O thou sword of the LORD, how long [will it be] ere thou be quiet? put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.

൬“അയ്യോ, യഹോവയുടെ വാളേ, നീ എത്രത്തോളം വിശ്രമിക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കും? നിന്റെ ഉറയിൽ കടക്കുക; വിശ്രമിച്ച് അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുക.

7 How can it be quiet, seeing the LORD hath given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? there hath he appointed it.

൭അസ്കലോനും സമുദ്രതീരത്തിനും വിരോധമായി യഹോവ കല്പന കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ, അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുവാൻ അതിന് എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും? അവിടേക്ക് അവിടുന്ന് അതിനെ നിയോഗിച്ചുവല്ലോ”.
