Jeremiah 46
1 The word of the LORD which came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Gentiles;
Palavra do SENHOR que veio ao profeta Jeremias, contra as nações.
2 Against Egypt, against the army of Pharaoh-necho king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon smote in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah.
Quanto ao Egito: contra o exército de Faraó Neco, rei do Egito, que estava junto ao rio Eufrates em Carquemis, ao qual Nabucodonosor rei da Babilônia feriu no quarto ano de Jeoaquim filho de Josias, rei de Judá.
3 Order ye the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle.
Preparai os escudos maior e o menor, e vinde à guerra.
4 Harness the horses; and get up, ye horsemen, and stand forth with [your] helmets; furbish the spears, [and] put on the brigandines.
Selai os cavalos, e subi, vós os cavaleiros, e apresentai-vos com capacetes; limpai as lanças, vesti-vos de couraças.
5 Wherefore have I seen them dismayed [and] turned away back? and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled apace, and look not back: [for] fear [was] round about, saith the LORD.
Por que razão vejo os medrosos tornando atrás? E seus guerreiros são abatidos, e vão fugindo, sem olharem para trás; o terror está por todos os lados, diz o SENHOR.
6 Let not the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; they shall stumble, and fall toward the north by the river Euphrates.
Não fuja o ligeiro, nem escape o guerreiro; para o norte, junto à margem do rio do Eufrates, tropeçaram e caíram.
7 Who [is] this [that] cometh up as a flood, whose waters are moved as the rivers?
Quem é este que sobe como o Nilo, cujas águas se movem como rios?
8 Egypt riseth up like a flood, and [his] waters are moved like the rivers; and he saith, I will go up, [and] will cover the earth; I will destroy the city and the inhabitants thereof.
O Egito vem subindo como o Nilo, e [suas] águas se agitam como rios, e disse: Subirei, [e] cobrirei a terra; destruirei a cidade, e os que nela habitam.
9 Come up, ye horses; and rage, ye chariots; and let the mighty men come forth; the Ethiopians and the Libyans, that handle the shield; and the Lydians, that handle [and] bend the bow.
Subi, cavalos, e rangei, carruagens; e saiam os guerreiros; os de Cuxe e os de Pute que tomam escudo, e os de Lude que tomam e encurvam o arco.
10 For this [is] the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.
Porém esse dia pertence ao Senhor DEUS dos exércitos, o dia de vingança, para ele se vingar de seus adversários; e a espada devorará, se fartará, e se embriagará do sangue deles; pois o Senhor DEUS dos exércitos tem [para si] um sacrifício na terra do norte, junto ao rio Eufrates.
11 Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt: in vain shalt thou use many medicines; [for] thou shalt not be cured.
Sobe a Gileade, e toma bálsamo, ó virgem filha do Egito; em vão multiplicas os remédios, [pois] não há cura para ti.
12 The nations have heard of thy shame, and thy cry hath filled the land: for the mighty man hath stumbled against the mighty, [and] they are fallen both together.
As nações ouviram da tua vergonha, e teu clamor encheu a terra: pois um guerreiro tropeçou contra [outro] guerreiro, e ambos juntamente caíram.
13 The word that the LORD spake to Jeremiah the prophet, how Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon should come [and] smite the land of Egypt.
Palavra que o SENHOR falou ao profeta Jeremias quanto à vinda de Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, para ferir a terra do Egito:
14 Declare ye in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Noph and in Tahpanhes: say ye, Stand fast, and prepare thee; for the sword shall devour round about thee.
Anunciai no Egito, e declarai em Migdol; declarai também em Nofe e em Tafnes; dizei: Firma uma posição, e prepara-te; pois a espada está para devorar o que há ao redor de ti.
15 Why are thy valiant [men] swept away? they stood not, because the LORD did drive them.
Por que teus guerreiros foram derrubados? Não puderam ficar de pé, pois o SENHOR os empurrou.
16 He made many to fall, yea, one fell upon another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the oppressing sword.
Ele multiplicou os que tropeçaram; caíram cada um sobre o outro, e disseram: Levanta-te e voltemo-nos a nosso povo, e à terra de nosso nascimento, por causa da espada opressora.
17 They did cry there, Pharaoh king of Egypt [is but] a noise; he hath passed the time appointed.
Ali gritarão: O Faraó rei do Egito, é [apenas] um barulho; ele deixou passar o tempo determinado.
18 [As] I live, saith the King, whose name [is] the LORD of hosts, Surely as Tabor [is] among the mountains, and as Carmel by the sea, [so] shall he come.
Vivo eu, diz o Rei, cujo nome é EU-SOU dos exércitos, que como o Tabor entre os montes, e como o Carmelo no mar, assim ele virá.
19 O thou daughter dwelling in Egypt, furnish thyself to go into captivity: for Noph shall be waste and desolate without an inhabitant.
Faz para ti a bagagem para a ida ao cativeiro, ó moradora, filha do Egito; porque Nofe se tornará em desolação, e será devastada até não haver ali morador.
20 Egypt [is like] a very fair heifer, [but] destruction cometh; it cometh out of the north.
O Egito é uma bezerra formosa; mas a mosca carniceira vem do norte.
21 Also her hired men [are] in the midst of her like fatted bullocks; for they also are turned back, [and] are fled away together: they did not stand, because the day of their calamity was come upon them, [and] the time of their visitation.
Até seus soldados mercenários em meio dela são como bezerros cevados; porém também eles se virarão para trás, e juntamente fugirão; eles não permanecerão em postos, porque o dia de sua ruína, o tempo de sua punição, veio sobre eles.
22 The voice thereof shall go like a serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood.
Seu ruído sairá como de serpente; pois [seus inimigos] virão com poder; a ela virão com machados, como se fossem cortadores de lenha.
23 They shall cut down her forest, saith the LORD, though it cannot be searched; because they are more than the grasshoppers, and [are] innumerable.
Cortarão o seu bosque, diz o SENHOR, ainda que não possam ser contados; porque são mais que gafanhotos, não se pode enumerá- los.
24 The daughter of Egypt shall be confounded; she shall be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.
A filha do Egito será envergonhada; entregue será nas mãos do povo do norte.
25 The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saith; Behold, I will punish the multitude of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods, and their kings; even Pharaoh, and [all] them that trust in him:
Diz o SENHOR dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: Eis que eu punirei a Amom de Nô, a Faraó e ao Egito; a seus deuses e a seus reis; tanto a Faraó como aos que nele confiam.
26 And I will deliver them into the hand of those that seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants: and afterward it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, saith the LORD.
E os entregarei nas mãos dos que buscam [tirar] sua vida, e nas mãos de Nabucodonosor rei de Babilônia, e nas mãos de seus servos; porém depois será habitada como nos dias anteriores, diz o SENHOR.
27 But fear not thou, O my servant Jacob, and be not dismayed, O Israel: for, behold, I will save thee from afar off, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make [him] afraid.
Mas tu não temas, meu servo Jacó, nem te espantes, ó Israel; porque eis que te salvarei desde [as terras] de longe, e teus descendentes da terra de seu cativeiro. E Jacó voltará, descansará, e viverá em paz; e não haverá quem o atemorize.
28 Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the LORD: for I [am] with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished.
Tu, meu servo Jacó, não temas, diz o SENHOR; pois eu estou contigo; porque destruirei por completo todas as nações entre as quais eu te lancei; porem a ti não destruirei por completo, mas te castigarei com moderação, e não te deixarei impune.
