Jeremiah 33
1 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying,
Et la parole du Seigneur fut adressée à Jérémie une seconde fois, lorsqu’il était encore enfermé dans le vestibule de la prison, disant:
2 Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD [is] his name;
Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, qui doit faire, et disposer, et préparer cela; le Seigneur est son nom.
3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
Crie vers moi, et je t’exaucerai, et je t’annoncerai des choses grandes et certaines que tu ne sais pas.
4 For thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are thrown down by the mounts, and by the sword;
Parce que voici ce que dit le Seigneur, Dieu d’Israël, aux maisons de cette ville et aux maisons du roi de Juda qui ont été détruites, et aux fortifications et au glaive
5 They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but [it is] to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine anger and in my fury, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.
De ceux qui viennent, afin de combattre contre les Chaldéens, et afin de les remplir des cadavres des hommes que j’ai frappés dans ma fureur et dans mon indignation, détournant ma face de cette cité à cause de toute leur malice:
6 Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.
Voici que moi, je refermerai leur cicatrice, je leur donnerai la santé et je les soignerai; et je leur montrerai la paix et la vérité qu’ils demandent.
7 And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.
Et je ferai retourner certainement Juda et Jérusalem; et je les établirai comme dès le commencement.
8 And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.
Et je les purifierai de toute leur iniquité par laquelle ils ont péché contre moi, et je leur pardonnerai toutes leurs iniquités par lesquelles ils se sont rendus coupables envers moi, et m’ont méprisé.
9 And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.
Ce sera pour moi un renom, et une joie, et une louange, et une exultation parmi toutes les nations de la terre, qui apprendront tous les biens que moi je dois leur faire; et elles auront peur et elles seront troublées à cause de tous les biens et de toute la paix que moi je leur accorderai.
10 Thus saith the LORD; Again there shall be heard in this place, which ye say [shall be] desolate without man and without beast, [even] in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast,
Voici ce que dit le Seigneur: On entendra encore dans ce lieu (que vous dites être un désert, parce qu’il n’y a pas d’homme ni de bête, dans les cités de Juda et au dehors de Jérusalem, cités qui sont désolées, sans homme et sans habitant, et sans troupeau)
11 The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD [is] good; for his mercy [endureth] for ever: [and] of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the LORD.
La voix de la joie et la voix de l’allégresse, la voix de l’époux et la voix de l’épouse, la voix de ceux qui diront: Louez le Seigneur des armées parce que bon est le Seigneur, parce qu’éternelle est sa miséricorde, et la voix de ceux qui portent des vœux dans la maison du Seigneur; car je ramènerai les captifs de cette terre, et je les rétablirai comme dès le commencement, dit le Seigneur.
12 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, shall be an habitation of shepherds causing [their] flocks to lie down.
Voici ce que dit le Seigneur des armées: Il y aura encore dans ce lieu désert, sans homme et sans bête, et dans toutes ses cités, une demeure de pasteurs qui feront reposer des troupeaux.
13 In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the vale, and in the cities of the south, and in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, shall the flocks pass again under the hands of him that telleth [them], saith the LORD.
Dans les cités des montagnes, et dans les cités de la plaine, et dans les cités qui sont au midi, et dans la terre de Benjamin, et dans les environs de Jérusalem, et dans les cités de Juda, les troupeaux passeront encore sous la main de celui qui les compte, dit le Seigneur.
14 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.
Voilà que des jours viennent, dit le Seigneur, et je réaliserai la bonne parole que j’ai dite à la maison d’Israël et à la maison de Juda.
15 In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.
En ces jours-là et en ce temps-là, je ferai germer dans David un germe de justice; et il rendra le jugement et la justice sur la terre.
16 In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this [is the name] wherewith she shall be called, The LORD our righteousness.
En ces jours-là, Juda sera sauvé, et Jérusalem habitera en assurance; et voici le nom dont ils l’appelleront: Le Seigneur notre juste.
17 For thus saith the LORD; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;
Car voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Il ne manquera pas dans la race de David, d’homme qui s’asseye sur le trône de la maison d’Israël.
18 Neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.
Et d’entre les prêtres et d’entre les Lévites, il ne manquera pas un homme devant ma face qui offre des holocaustes, allume le sacrifice, et tue des victimes, tous les jours.
19 And the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah, saying,
Et la parole du Seigneur fut adressée à Jérémie, disant:
20 Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;
Voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Si mon alliance avec le jour et mon alliance avec la nuit peuvent être rendues vaines, en sorte qu’il n’y ait pas de jour et de nuit en leurs temps,
21 [Then] may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.
Mon alliance avec David, mon serviteur, pourra aussi être vaine, en sorte qu’il n’y ait pas de lui un fils qui règne sur son trône, ni de Lévites et de prêtres qui soient mes ministres.
22 As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.
Comme les étoiles du ciel ne peuvent être comptées, ni le sable de la mer être mesuré, ainsi je multiplierai la race de David, mon serviteur, et les Lévites, mes ministres.
23 Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,
Et la parole du Seigneur fut adressée à Jérémie, disant:
24 Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.
Est-ce que tu n’as pas vu comment a parlé ce peuple, disant: Les deux familles qu’avait choisies le Seigneur ont été rejetées; et ils ont méprisé mon peuple, parce qu’il n’est plus une nation devant eux?
25 Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant [be] not with day and night, [and if] I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;
Voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Si je n’ai pas établi mon alliance entre le jour et la nuit, et des lois pour le ciel et pour la terre,
26 Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, [so] that I will not take [any] of his seed [to be] rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.
Certainement, je rejetterai aussi la race de Jacob et de David, mes serviteurs, afin de ne pas prendre de leur race des princes de la race d’Abraham, d’Isaac et de Jacob; car je ramènerai leurs captifs, et j’aurai pitié d’eux.
