Jeremiah 30
1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
Voici la parole qui fut adressée à Jérémie par le Seigneur, disant:
2 Thus speaketh the LORD God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.
Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, Dieu d’Israël, disant: Ecris pour toi toutes les paroles que je t’ai dites dans un livre.
3 For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.
Car des jours viennent, dit le Seigneur, et je ferai retourner certainement mon peuple d’Israël et de Juda, dit le Seigneur; et je les ferai retourner dans la terre que j’ai donnée à leurs pères, et ils la posséderont.
4 And these [are] the words that the LORD spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah.
Et voici les paroles que le Seigneur a dites à Israël et à Juda:
5 For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.
Ainsi voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Nous avons entendu une voix de terreur; l’épouvante, et il n’y a pas de paix.
6 Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?
Demandez et voyez si un mâle enfante; pourquoi donc ai-je vu la main de tout homme sur ses reins, comme une femme en travail, et pourquoi toutes les faces ont-elles tourné à la pâleur?
7 Alas! for that day [is] great, so that none [is] like it: it [is] even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.
Malheur! car grand est ce jour, et il n’en est point de semblable; et c’est un temps de tribulation pour Jacob, mais il en sera délivré.
8 For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, [that] I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:
Et il arrivera en ce jour-là, dit le Seigneur des armées, que je briserai son joug, et je l’ôterai de ton cou, je romprai ses liens, et les étrangers ne le domineront plus;
9 But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.
Mais ils serviront le Seigneur leur Dieu, et David leur roi que je leur susciterai.
10 Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make [him] afraid.
Toi donc, ne crains pas, mon serviteur Jacob, dit le Seigneur, et ne t’effraye pas, Israël, parce que je te sauverai en te ramenant d’une terre lointaine, et ta race en la retirant de la terre de sa captivité; et Jacob reviendra, et se reposera, et abondera en toute sorte de choses, et il n’y aura personne qu’il redoutera.
11 For I [am] with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet will I not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.
Parce que moi je suis avec toi, dit le Seigneur, afin de te sauver; car je détruirai entièrement toutes les nations parmi lesquelles je t’ai dispersé; pour toi, je ne te détruirai pas entièrement; mais je te châtierai selon la justice, afin que tu ne paraisses pas à tes yeux irréprochable.
12 For thus saith the LORD, Thy bruise [is] incurable, [and] thy wound [is] grievous.
Parce que voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Incurable est ta blessure, très maligne ta plaie.
13 [There is] none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines.
Il n’est personne qui s’intéresse à ta cause pour bander ta plaie; dans les remèdes il n’y a pas d’utilité pour toi.
14 All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not; for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity; [because] thy sins were increased.
Tous ceux qui t’aimaient t’ont oubliée, et ne te rechercheront plus, car je t’ai frappée d’une plaie d’ennemi, d’un châtiment cruel; à cause de la multitude de tes iniquités, tes péchés sont devenus graves.
15 Why criest thou for thine affliction? thy sorrow [is] incurable for the multitude of thine iniquity: [because] thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee.
Pourquoi cries-tu d’avoir été brisée? ta douleur est incurable; à cause de la multitude de tes iniquités, et à cause de tes péchés graves, je t’ai fait cela.
16 Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.
C’est pour cela que tous ceux qui le mangent seront dévorés; et tous tes ennemis seront emmenés en captivité; et ceux qui te ravagent seront ravagés, et tous ceux qui te pillent, je les livrerai au pillage.
17 For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, [saying], This [is] Zion, whom no man seeketh after.
Car je fermerai ta cicatrice, et je te guérirai de tes blessures, dit le Seigneur. Parce que, ô Sion, ils t’ont appelée la répudiée, disant: Voici celle qui n’avait personne qui la recherchât.
18 Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob’s tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.
Voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Voilà que moi, je ferai retourner certainement les tabernacles de Jacob, et j’aurai pitié de ses demeures, et la cité sera bâtie sur sa hauteur, et le temple sera fondé sur son premier modèle.
19 And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.
Et la louange et la voix de ceux qui formeront des chœurs sortiront du milieu d’eux; et je les multiplierai, et leur nombre ne diminuera pas, et je les glorifierai, et ils ne seront pas amoindris.
20 Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them.
Et ses fils seront comme dès le commencement, et son assemblée demeurera devant moi; et je visiterai tous ceux qui le tourmentent.
21 And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who [is] this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? saith the LORD.
Et son chef sortira de lui un prince naîtra du milieu de lui je le ferai approcher, et il s’avancera vers moi; car quel est celui qui appliquerait son cœur à s’approcher de moi, dit le Seigneur?
22 And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
Et vous serez mon peuple, et moi je serai votre Dieu.
23 Behold, the whirlwind of the LORD goeth forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked.
Voilà que le tourbillon du Seigneur, que la fureur qui s’échappe, que la tempête qui se précipite, se reposera sur la tête des impies.
24 The fierce anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have done [it], and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it.
Le Seigneur ne détournera pas la colère de son indignation, jusqu’à ce qu’il ait exécuté et accompli la pensée de son cœur; au dernier des jours vous comprendrez ces choses.
