Jeremiah 23
1 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.
Ai dos pastores que destroem e dispersam as ovelhas de meu rebanho!, Diz o SENHOR.
2 Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.
Portanto assim diz o SENHOR Deus de Israel quanto aos pastores que apascentam meu povo: Vós dispersastes minhas ovelhas, e as afugentastes, e não cuidastes delas; eis que eu cuidarei contra vós pela maldade de vossas ações, diz o SENHOR.
3 And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.
E eu mesmo recolherei o restante de minhas ovelhas de todas as terras para onde as afugentei, e as farei voltar a seus apriscos; e crescerão, e se multiplicarão.
4 And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD.
E porei sobre elas pastores que as apascentem; e nunca mais temerão, nem se assombrarão, nem haverá falta de uma sequer, diz o SENHOR.
5 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
Eis que vêm os dias, diz o SENHOR, que levantarei por Davi um justo Renovo, e sendo rei, reinará; o qual prosperará, e fará juízo e justiça na terra.
6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this [is] his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Em seus dias Judá será salvo, e Israel habitará em segurança; e este será seu nome com que o chamarão: O SENHOR é nossa justiça.
7 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
Portanto eis que vêm dias, diz o SENHOR, que não mais dirão: Vive o SENHOR, que fez subir os filhos de Israel da terra do Egito;
8 But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.
Mas sim: Vive o SENHOR, que fez subir e trouxe a geração da casa de Israel da terra do norte, e de todas as terras para onde eu os afugentei; e habitarão em sua terra.
9 Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of the LORD, and because of the words of his holiness.
Quanto aos profetas: meu coração está quebrantado em meu interior, todos os meus ossos tremem; estou como um homem bêbado, como um homem dominado pelo vinho, por causa do SENHOR, e por causa de suas santas palavras.
10 For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force [is] not right.
Pois a terra está cheia de adúlteros: e por causa da maldição a terra lamenta; as cabanas do deserto se secaram; pois o percurso deles tem sido mau, e a força deles não é correta.
11 For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the LORD.
Pois tanto o profeta como o sacerdote são corruptos; até em minha casa achei sua maldade, diz o SENHOR.
12 Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery [ways] in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, [even] the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.
Portanto o caminho deles lhes será como lugares escorregadios na escuridão; serão empurrados, e nele cairão; porque eu trarei mal sobre eles [no] ano de sua punição, diz o SENHOR.
13 And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.
Nos profetas de Samaria vi coisas desagradáveis: profetizavam por Baal, e faziam errar a meu povo Israel.
14 I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.
Mas nos profetas de Jerusalém tenho vejo coisas horríveis: cometem adultérios, e andam com falsidade, e fortalecem as mãos dos malfeitores, para que ninguém se converta de sua maldade. Para mim, todos eles são como Sodoma, e seus moradores como Gomorra.
15 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land.
Por isso, assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos sobre os profetas: Eis que eu lhes darei de comer absinto, e lhes farei beber águas envenenadas; porque dos profetas de Jerusalém a corrupção se espalhou sobre toda a terra.
16 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, [and] not out of the mouth of the LORD.
Assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos: Não deis ouvidos às palavras dos profetas que profetizam para vós; eles vos iludem; falam visão de seus próprios corações, e não da boca do SENHOR.
17 They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.
Dizem continuamente aos que me desprezam: O SENHOR diz: Tereis paz; E a qualquer um que segue a teimosia de seu [próprio] coração, dizem: Não virá mal algum sobre vós.
18 For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard [it]?
Pois quem esteve no conselho do SENHOR, e viu e ouviu sua palavra? Quem prestou atenção a sua palavra, e [a] ouviu?
19 Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.
Eis que a tempestade da ira do SENHOR já saiu; e a tempestade é violenta, que atingirá violentamente sobre a cabeça dos maus.
20 The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.
Não se afastará a ira do SENHOR, enquanto não tiver executado e cumprido os pensamentos de seu coração; nos últimos dias entendereis isso claramente.
21 I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
Eu não enviei aqueles profetas, porém eles foram correndo; eu não lhes falei, porém eles profetizaram.
22 But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
Mas se eles tivessem estado em meu conselho, então teriam anunciado minhas palavras a meu povo; e teriam feito com que deixassem seu mau caminho e a maldade de suas ações.
23 [Am] I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?
Por acaso sou eu Deus [apenas] de perto, diz o SENHOR, e não também Deus de longe?
24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.
Pode alguém se esconder num esconderijo, diz o SENHOR, que eu não o veja? Por acaso não sou eu, diz o SENHOR, que encho os céus e a terra?
25 I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.
Tenho ouvido o que aqueles profetas dizem, profetizando mentiras em meu nome, dizendo: Sonhei, sonhei.
26 How long shall [this] be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, [they are] prophets of the deceit of their own heart;
Até quando [será isto] no coração dos profetas que profetizam mentiras, dos que profetizam o engano de seu coração?
27 Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.
Que pretendem, por meio de seus sonhos que cada um conta a seu próximo, fazer com que meu povo se esqueça de meu nome, tal como seus pais se esqueceram de meu nome por causa de Baal.
28 The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What [is] the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD.
O profeta que tiver sonho, conte o sonho; e aquele que tiver minha palavra, conte minha palavra de forma fiel. O que a palha tem a ver com o trigo?, diz o SENHOR.
29 [Is] not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer [that] breaketh the rock in pieces?
Por acaso não é minha palavra como o fogo? diz o SENHOR, E como um martelo que esmigalha a pedra?
30 Therefore, behold, I [am] against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour.
Portanto eis que eu sou contra os profetas, diz o SENHOR, que furtam minhas palavras cada um de seu próximo.
31 Behold, I [am] against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.
Eis que eu sou contra os profetas, diz o SENHOR, que usam suas línguas, e declaram: [Assim] ele disse.
32 Behold, I [am] against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD.
Eis que eu sou contra os que profetizam sonhos mentirosos, diz o SENHOR, e os contam, e fazem meu povo errar com suas mentiras e com suas lisonjas. E eu não os enviei, nem lhes mandei; e proveito nenhum fizeram a este povo, diz o SENHOR.
33 And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What [is] the burden of the LORD? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even forsake you, saith the LORD.
E quando este povo, ou o profeta, ou o sacerdote, te peguntar, dizendo: Qual é a revelação, a carga do SENHOR? Então tu lhes dirás: Que carga? Eu os abandonarei, diz o SENHOR.
34 And [as for] the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of the LORD, I will even punish that man and his house.
E quanto ao profeta, o sacerdote, ou alguém do povo, que disser: Carga do SENHOR; eu enviarei castigo sobre tal homem e sobre sua casa.
35 Thus shall ye say every one to his neighbour, and every one to his brother, What hath the LORD answered? and, What hath the LORD spoken?
Assim direis cada um a seu próximo, e cada um a seu irmão: O que o SENHOR respondeu?, e, O que o SENHOR falou?
36 And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man’s word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God.
E nunca mais mencionareis a carga do SENHOR; porque a palavra de cada um lhe servirá por carga; pois pervertestes as palavras do Deus vivente, do SENHOR dos exércitos, nosso Deus.
37 Thus shalt thou say to the prophet, What hath the LORD answered thee? and, What hath the LORD spoken?
Assim dirás ao profeta: O que o SENHOR te respondeu? e, O que o SENHOR falou?
38 But since ye say, The burden of the LORD; therefore thus saith the LORD; Because ye say this word, The burden of the LORD, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of the LORD;
Mas se disserdes: Carga do SENHOR; então por isso o assim diz o SENHOR: Porque dissestes esta palavra, Carga do SENHOR, tendo eu vos mandado, dizendo: Não digais “Carga do SENHOR”,
39 Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, [and cast you] out of my presence:
Portanto eis que eu esquecerei totalmente; e lançarei fora de minha presença a vós, e à cidade que dei para vós e para vossos pais;
40 And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.
E porei sobre vós humilhação perpétua e vergonha eterna, que nunca será esquecida.
