Jeremiah 22
1 Thus saith the LORD; Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word,
১সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, যিহূদার রাজবাড়ীতে যাও এবং সেখানে এই কথা ঘোষণা কর।
2 And say, Hear the word of the LORD, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people that enter in by these gates:
২বল, হে যিহূদার রাজা, যে দায়ূদের সিংহাসনে বসে, সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য শোন। তোমরা, যারা তার দাস এবং তোমরা তার লোকেরা, যারা এই ফটকের মধ্য দিয়ে আসো, সবাই শোনো।
3 Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.
৩সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, তোমরা সুবিচার ও ন্যায়পরায়ণ কর এবং যাকে অপহরণ করা হয়েছে, তাকে তার অত্যাচারীর হাত থেকে উদ্ধার কর। তোমাদের দেশে কোন অনাথ ও বিধবাদের সাথে মন্দ ব্যবহার কর না। অত্যাচার কর না বা এই জায়গায় নির্দোষের রক্তপাত কোরো না।
4 For if ye do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people.
৪কারণ তোমরা যদি এই পালন কর, তবে দায়ূদের সিংহাসনে বসা রাজারা রথে ও ঘোড়ায় চড়ে এই রাজবাড়ীর ফটক দিয়ে ভিতরে আসবে। সে, তাদের দাসেরা ও তার লোকজন!
5 But if ye will not hear these words, I swear by myself, saith the LORD, that this house shall become a desolation.
৫কিন্তু যদি তোমরা আমার এই সব কথা না শোনো, যা আমি প্রচার করেছি, এটি সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা, তবে এই রাজবাড়ি ধ্বংস হয়ে যাবে।
6 For thus saith the LORD unto the king’s house of Judah; Thou [art] Gilead unto me, [and] the head of Lebanon: [yet] surely I will make thee a wilderness, [and] cities [which] are not inhabited.
৬কারণ যিহূদার রাজবাড়ির সম্বন্ধে সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “তুমি আমার কাছে গিলিয়দ এবং লিবানোনের চূড়ার মত। তবুও আমি তোমাকে মরুভূমি, লোকশূন্য শহরগুলির মত করবো।
7 And I will prepare destroyers against thee, every one with his weapons: and they shall cut down thy choice cedars, and cast [them] into the fire.
৭কারণ আমি তোমার বিরুদ্ধে ধ্বংসকারীদের মনোনীত করেছি! তারা তাদের অস্ত্র দিয়ে তোমার দামী এরস গাছগুলি কেটে আগুনে ফেলবে।
8 And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbour, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this great city?
৮তখন বিভিন্ন জাতির লোকেরা এই শহরের পাশ দিয়ে যাবে। প্রত্যেকে পাশের জনকে বলবে, ‘এই মহান শহরের প্রতি কেন সদাপ্রভু এমন করলেন?’
9 Then they shall answer, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them.
৯অপর লোকেরা উত্তর দেবে, ‘কারণ তারা তাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর চুক্তি ত্যাগ করে অন্য দেবতার কাছে নত হত এবং তাদের উপাসনা করত।’
10 Weep ye not for the dead, neither bemoan him: [but] weep sore for him that goeth away: for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.
১০তোমরা মৃতদের জন্য কেঁদো না। তার জন্য বিলাপ কোরো না। কিন্তু তুমি অবশ্যই তাদের জন্য কাঁদ, যে বন্দীদশায় গিয়েছে, কারণ সে আর কখনও ফিরে আসবে না এবং তার জন্মদেশ আর দেখতে পাবে না।”
11 For thus saith the LORD touching Shallum the son of Josiah king of Judah, which reigned instead of Josiah his father, which went forth out of this place; He shall not return thither any more:
১১কারণ সদাপ্রভু যিহূদার রাজা যোশিয়ের ছেলে শল্লুম সম্বন্ধে এই কথা বলেন, যিনি তাঁর বাবার পরে রাজা হয়েছিলেন; “তিনি এই জায়গা ছেড়ে চলে গিয়েছেন এবং তিনি আর ফিরে আসবেন না।
12 But he shall die in the place whither they have led him captive, and shall see this land no more.
১২যেখানে সে বন্দী হয়ে আছে সেখানেই সে মারা যাবে এবং সে এই দেশ আর কখনো দেখতে পাবে না।”
13 Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; [that] useth his neighbour’s service without wages, and giveth him not for his work;
১৩“ধিক সে! যে অধার্মিকতা দিয়ে তার বাড়ি বানায় এবং অন্যায় দিয়ে বড় বড় ঘরগুলি তৈরী করে। যার জন্য অন্যরা কাজ করে, কিন্তু যে তাদের মজুরী দেয় না।
14 That saith, I will build me a wide house and large chambers, and cutteth him out windows; and [it is] cieled with cedar, and painted with vermilion.
১৪ধিক তাকে! যে লোক বলে, ‘আমি নিজের জন্য একটি উঁচু বাড়ি তৈরী করব এবং চওড়া উঁচু ঘর বানাবো,’ সে নিজের জন্য বড় বড় জানলা বানায় এবং এরস কাঠ দিয়ে ঘর বানায় এবং তার সমস্ত কিছুতে লাল রং করে।
15 Shalt thou reign, because thou closest [thyself] in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, [and] then [it was] well with him?
১৫এটাই কি তোমাকে একজন ভালো রাজা বানায়, যে তুমি এরস গাছের তক্তা চেয়েছ? তোমার বাবাও কি ভোজন পান করত না, তবুও সুবিচার করত ও ন্যায়পরায়ন কি ছিলনা? তাই তার মঙ্গল হল।
16 He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then [it was] well [with him: was] not this to know me? saith the LORD.
১৬সে গরিব ও অভাবগ্রস্ত লোকেদের পক্ষে বিচার করত। সবকিছু ভালো চলছিল। এটাই কি আমাকে জানা নয়?” এটি সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
17 But thine eyes and thine heart [are] not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do [it].
১৭কিন্তু তোমার চোখে ও অন্তরে অন্য লোককে নির্যাতন ও চূর্ণবিচূর্ণ করার জন্য অন্যায় লাভ, নির্দোষের রক্তপাত ছাড়া আর কিছু নেই।
18 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah; They shall not lament for him, [saying], Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him, [saying], Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!
১৮তাই যিহূদার রাজা যোশিয়ের ছেলে যিহোয়াকীমের বিষয়ে সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “তারা তার জন্য ‘হে, আমার ভাই!’ বা ‘হে, আমার বোন’ বলে বিলাপ করবে না। তারা তার জন্য ‘হে, প্রভু!’ ‘হায়, তাঁর মহিমা!’ বলেও বিলাপ করবে না।
19 He shall be buried with the burial of an ass, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem.
১৯গাধার কবরের মত তাকে কবর দেওয়া হবে, তাকে টেনে তোলা হবে এবং যিরূশালেমের ফটকের বাইরে ছুঁড়ে ফেলে দেওয়া হবে।
20 Go up to Lebanon, and cry; and lift up thy voice in Bashan, and cry from the passages: for all thy lovers are destroyed.
২০তুমি লিবানোনের পর্বতে ওঠো এবং চিৎকার কর। তোমার গলার স্বর বাশনে শোনা যাক। অবারীম পর্বত থেকে চিৎকার কর, কারণ তোমার সব বন্ধুরা ধ্বংস হয়ে গেছে।
21 I spake unto thee in thy prosperity; [but] thou saidst, I will not hear. This [hath been] thy manner from thy youth, that thou obeyedst not my voice.
২১তুমি যখন নিরাপদে ছিলে, তখন আমি তোমাকে বলেছিলাম, কিন্তু তুমি বলেছিলে, ‘আমি শুনব না।’ যুবক বয়স থেকেই তোমার এই রকম ব্যবহার, কারণ তুমি আমার কথা শোনো নি।
22 The wind shall eat up all thy pastors, and thy lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness.
২২বাতাস তোমার সব পালকদের তাড়িয়ে দেবে এবং তোমার বন্ধুরা বন্দিত্বে যাবে। তখন তুমি তোমার হঠাত লজ্জিত হবে ও তোমার মন্দ কাজের জন্য অপমানিত হবে।
23 O inhabitant of Lebanon, that makest thy nest in the cedars, how gracious shalt thou be when pangs come upon thee, the pain as of a woman in travail!
২৩রাজা, তুমি যে লিবানোনের অরন্যে বসবাস করো, তুমি যে এরস বনে বাস করো, যখন তুমি প্রসব বেদনার মত যন্ত্রণা তোমার উপরে আসবে তখন কিভাবে তোমাকে দয়া করা হবে!”
24 [As] I live, saith the LORD, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet upon my right hand, yet would I pluck thee thence;
২৪“যেমন আমি জীবিত,” এটি সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা, এমনকি যদি তুমি, যিহূদার রাজা যিহোয়াকীমের ছেলে যিহোয়াখীন, আমার ডান হাতের সীলমোহর থেকে, আমি তোমাকে খুলে ফেলে দিতাম।
25 And I will give thee into the hand of them that seek thy life, and into the hand [of them] whose face thou fearest, even into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans.
২৫কারণ আমি তোমাকে তাদের হাতে তুলে দেব, যারা তোমার জীবনের খোঁজ করে এবং বাবিলের রাজা নবূখদনিৎসর ও কলদীয়দের হাতে দেব, যাদের তুমি ভয় পাও।
26 And I will cast thee out, and thy mother that bare thee, into another country, where ye were not born; and there shall ye die.
২৬আমি তোমাকে ও তোমার মা, যে তোমাকে জন্ম দিয়েছে, সেই মাকে অন্য দেশে ছুঁড়ে ফেলে দেব, যেখানে তুমি জন্মাও নি। সেখানে তোমরা মারা যাবে।
27 But to the land whereunto they desire to return, thither shall they not return.
২৭এই দেশে তারা ফিরে আসতে চাইবে, তারা এখানে ফিরে আসতে পারবে না।
28 [Is] this man Coniah a despised broken idol? [is he] a vessel wherein [is] no pleasure? wherefore are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not?
২৮এটা কি একটি তুচ্ছ এবং ভাঙ্গা পাত্র? এই যিহোয়াখীন কি এমন একজন যে কাউকে সন্তুষ্ট করে না? কেন তাকে ও তার সন্তানদের একটি দেশে ছুঁড়ে ফেলা হয়েছে, যা তাদের জানে না?
29 O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD.
২৯দেশ, দেশ, দেশ! সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য শোন। সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “যিহোয়াখীন এর সম্মন্ধে এই কথা লেখ, সে সন্তানহীন ছিল।
30 Thus saith the LORD, Write ye this man childless, a man [that] shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.
৩০সে তার জীবনকালে উন্নতি করতে পারবে না এবং তার কোন সন্তানও সফল হবে না, তাদের কেউ দায়ূদের সিংহাসনে বসবে না বা যিহূদার উপর রাজত্ব করবে না।”
