Jeremiah 13

1 Thus saith the LORD unto me, Go and get thee a linen girdle, and put it upon thy loins, and put it not in water.

௧யெகோவா என்னை நோக்கி: நீ போய், உனக்கு ஒரு சணல் கச்சையை வாங்கி, அதை உன் இடுப்பில் கட்டிக்கொள்; அதில் தண்ணீர் படவிடாதே என்றார்.

2 So I got a girdle according to the word of the LORD, and put [it] on my loins.

௨நான் யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தையின்படியே ஒரு கச்சையை வாங்கி, அதை என் இடுப்பில் கட்டிக்கொண்டேன்.

3 And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying,

௩இரண்டாம்முறை யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தை எனக்கு உண்டாகி, அவர்:

4 Take the girdle that thou hast got, which [is] upon thy loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock.

௪நீ வாங்கினதும் உன் இடுப்பில் இருக்கிறதுமான கச்சையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு எழுந்து, ஐப்பிராத்து நதிவரை போய், அதை அங்கே ஒரு கன்மலை வெடிப்பில் ஒளித்துவை என்றார்.

5 So I went, and hid it by Euphrates, as the LORD commanded me.

௫நான் போய், யெகோவா எனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே அதை ஐப்பிராத்து நதியின் ஓரத்தில் ஒளித்து வைத்தேன்.

6 And it came to pass after many days, that the LORD said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.

௬அநேக நாட்கள் சென்றபின்பு யெகோவா என்னை நோக்கி: நீ எழுந்து ஐப்பிராத்து நதிக்குப்போய் அங்கே ஒளித்துவைக்க நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட கச்சையை அவ்விடத்திலிருந்து எடுத்துக்கொண்டுவா என்றார்.

7 Then I went to Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it: and, behold, the girdle was marred, it was profitable for nothing.

௭அப்பொழுது நான் ஐப்பிராத்து நதிக்குப்போய், கச்சையை ஒளித்துவைத்த இடத்தில் தோண்டி அதை எடுத்தேன்; ஆனால், இதோ, அந்தக் கச்சை கெட்டு ஒன்றுக்கும் உதவாமல் போனது.

8 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

௮அப்பொழுது யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தை எனக்கு உண்டாகி அவர்:

9 Thus saith the LORD, After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.

௯இப்படியே நான் யூதாவுடைய பெருமையையும், எருசலேமுடைய மிகுந்த பெருமையையும் கெட்டுப்போகச்செய்வேன்.

10 This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.

௧0என் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்கமாட்டோம் என்று மறுத்து, தங்கள் இருதயத்தின் கடினத்தின்படி நடந்து, அந்நிய தெய்வங்களை வணங்கி அவர்களைப் பணிந்துகொள்ளவும் அவர்களைப் பின்பற்றுகிற இந்தப் பொல்லாத மக்கள் ஒன்றுக்கும் உதவாமற்போன இந்தக் கச்சையைப் போலாவார்கள் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.

11 For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.

௧௧கச்சையானது மனிதனுடைய இடுப்பில் இணைக்கப்பட்டு இருக்கிறதுபோல, நான் இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தார் அனைவரையும் யூதாவின் குடும்பத்தார் அனைவரையும், எனக்கு மக்களாகவும், கீர்த்தியாகவும், துதியாகவும், மகிமையாகவும் இணைத்துக்கொண்டேன்; ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் கேட்காமற்போனார்கள் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.

12 Therefore thou shalt speak unto them this word; Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and they shall say unto thee, Do we not certainly know that every bottle shall be filled with wine?

௧௨எல்லா பாத்திரங்களும் திராட்சைரசத்தினால் நிரப்பப்படுமென்று, இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா சொல்கிறார் என்ற வார்த்தையை அவர்களுடனே சொல்; அதற்கு அவர்கள்: எல்லா பாத்திரங்களும் திராட்சைரசத்தினால் நிரப்பப்படுவது எங்களுக்குத் தெரியாதா என்று உன்னுடனே சொல்லுவார்கள்.

13 Then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that sit upon David’s throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.

௧௩அப்பொழுது நீ அவர்களை நோக்கி: இதோ, இந்தத் தேசத்தின் குடிகளெல்லோரையும், தாவீதின் சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிற ராஜாக்களையும், ஆசாரியர்களையும், தீர்க்கதரிசிகளையும், எருசலேமின் குடிமக்கள் எல்லோரையும் நான் வெறியினால் நிரப்பி,

14 And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the LORD: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.

௧௪தகப்பன்களும் பிள்ளைகளுமாகிய அவர்களை ஒருவர்மேல் ஒருவர் மோதி விழும்படிச்செய்வேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்; நான் அவர்களை அழிப்பதேயன்றி மன்னிப்பதுமில்லை, தப்பவிடுவதுமில்லை, இரங்குவதுமில்லையென்று யெகோவா சொல்கிறார் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

15 Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken.

௧௫நீங்கள் காதுகொடுத்துக் கேளுங்கள்; மேட்டிமையாக இராதேயுங்கள்; யெகோவா விளம்பினார்.

16 Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, [and] make [it] gross darkness.

௧௬அவர் அந்தகாரத்தை வரச்செய்வதற்கு முன்னும், இருண்ட மலைகளில் உங்கள் கால்கள் தடுமாறுவதற்கு முன்னும், நீங்கள் வெளிச்சத்திற்குக் காத்திருக்கும்போது, அவர் அதை இருளும் காரிருளுமாக மாறச்செய்வதற்கு முன்னும், உங்கள் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு மகிமையைச் செலுத்துங்கள்.

17 But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for [your] pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD’s flock is carried away captive.

௧௭நீங்கள் இதைக் கேளாமற்போனால், என் ஆத்துமா மறைவிடங்களில் உங்கள் பெருமையினிமித்தம் துக்கித்து, யெகோவாவுடைய மந்தை சிறைப்பட்டுப்போனதென்று என் கண் மிகவும் அழுது கண்ணீர் சொரியும்.

18 Say unto the king and to the queen, Humble yourselves, sit down: for your principalities shall come down, [even] the crown of your glory.

௧௮நீங்கள் ராஜாவையும் ராஜாத்தியையும் நோக்கி: கீழேவந்து உட்காருங்கள்; உங்கள் தலையின் அலங்காரமாகிய உங்கள் மகிமையின் கிரீடம் விழுந்ததென்று சொல்லுங்கள்.

19 The cities of the south shall be shut up, and none shall open [them: ] Judah shall be carried away captive all of it, it shall be wholly carried away captive.

௧௯தெற்கிலுள்ள பட்டணங்கள் அடைக்கப்பட்டன; அவைகளைத் திறப்பார் இல்லை; யூதா அனைத்தும் குடியில்லாமல்போகும்; அது எளிதாகச் சிறைப்பட்டுப்போகும்.

20 Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from the north: where [is] the flock [that] was given thee, thy beautiful flock?

௨0உங்கள் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்து, வடக்கிலிருந்து வருகிறவர்களைப் பாருங்கள்; உனக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருந்த மந்தையும், உன் மகிமையான ஆட்டுக்கிடையும் எங்கே?

21 What wilt thou say when he shall punish thee? for thou hast taught them [to be] captains, [and] as chief over thee: shall not sorrows take thee, as a woman in travail?

௨௧அவர் உன்னை விசாரிக்கும்போது என்ன சொல்லுவாய்? அவர்கள் உன்மேல் அதிகாரம் செலுத்துகிறவர்களும், தலைவருமாயிருக்க, நீ அவர்களைப் பழக்கப்படுத்தினாயே; கர்ப்பவதிக்குப் பிரசவவேதனை உண்டாகும்போது உண்டாகும் வேதனைகளைப்போல் வேதனைகள் உன்னைப் பிடிப்பதில்லையோ?

22 And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered, [and] thy heels made bare.

௨௨இவைகள் எனக்கு சம்பவித்தது ஏனென்று நீ உன் இருதயத்தில் சொல்வாய் என்றால், உன் மிகுதியான அக்கிரமத்தினால் உன் ஆடையின் ஓரங்கள் விலக்கப்பட்டு, உன் பாதங்கள் பலவந்தஞ்செய்யப்படுகின்றன.

23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? [then] may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.

௨௩எத்தியோப்பியன் தன் தோலையும் சிறுத்தை தன் புள்ளிகளையும் மாற்றமுடிமோ? மாற்றமுடியுமானால், தீமைசெய்யப்பழகின நீங்களும் நன்மை செய்யமுடியும்.

24 Therefore will I scatter them as the stubble that passeth away by the wind of the wilderness.

௨௪ஆதலால் வனாந்திரக் காற்றால் பறக்கடிக்கப்படும் துரும்பைப்போல அவர்களைச் சிதறடிப்பேன்.

25 This [is] thy lot, the portion of thy measures from me, saith the LORD; because thou hast forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood.

௨௫நீ என்னை மறந்து, பொய்யை நம்பினதினால், இது உன்னுடைய தீர்மானமும், என்னால் உனக்கு அளக்கப்படும் உன்னுடைய பங்குமாயிருக்கும் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.

26 Therefore will I discover thy skirts upon thy face, that thy shame may appear.

௨௬உன் மானம் காணப்பட நான் உன் ஆடையின் ஓரங்களை உன் முகம்வரை எடுத்துப்போடுவேன்.

27 I have seen thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy whoredom, [and] thine abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe unto thee, O Jerusalem! wilt thou not be made clean? when [shall it] once [be]?

௨௭உன் விபசாரங்களையும், உன் கனைப்புகளையும், வெளியில் மேடுகளின்மேல் நீ செய்த வேசித்தனத்தின் முறைகேடுகளாகிய உன் அருவருப்புகளையும் நான் கண்டேன்; எருசலேமே, உனக்கு ஐயோ, நீ சுத்தமாக்கப்படமாட்டாயா? இது இன்னும் எத்தனை காலம் வரைக்கும் நடக்கும் என்கிறார்.
