James 3
1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same [is] a perfect man, [and] able also to bridle the whole body.

3 Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
Ka lawk ngâi seh titeh marang hah a pahni moum pouh teh a tak buem lah ngainae koe ouk ceisak awh.
4 Behold also the ships, which though [they be] so great, and [are] driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.
Hahoi, kalenpounge long teh kahlî katang poung nakunghai kathoengcae tuisamlanae hoi ngainae koe a ceisak thai.
5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
Hot patetlah doeh lai hai ao. Hno kathoengca ei teh kalenpoung lah a kâoup. Hmaitalica ni ratu pui hai a kak sak thai e panuek awh.
6 And the tongue [is] a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. (Geenna g1067)

7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
Taminaw ni moithangnaw hoi tavanaw, vonpui hoi kâvanaw, tui dawk kaawmnaw a mawng sak thai e patetlah a mawng hai a mawng sak awh.
8 But the tongue can no man tame; [it is] an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
Hatei, lai teh apipatet nihai mawng sak thai hoeh. Lai teh yue thai hoeh e kapopoung e lah ao teh, duesue hoi ka kawi e lah ao.
9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
Maimouh ni lai hoi na pa Cathut ouk pholen awh. Cathut e mei hoi kâlat lah sak e tami hah lai hoi thoe hnap na bo awh.
10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
Kâko buet touh dawk hoi pholennae lawk hoi thoebonae lawk hah a tâco bo vaw. Ka hmaunawnghanaw, telah o hanlah awm hoeh.
11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet [water] and bitter?
Tuiphuek buet touh dawk hoi tui katui hoi kakhat e reirei ouk a tâco maw.
12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so [can] no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
Ka hmaunawnghanaw thaibunglung ni olive lah a paw thai maw. Misurkung nihai thaibunglung paw lah paw boihoeh. Hot patetvanlah, tui katui e ni kakhat e lah tâcawt sak thai hoeh.
13 Who [is] a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
Nangmouh thung dawkvah thoumthainae hoi kakuep e lungkaang e tami buet touh awm pawiteh, hote tami niteh a lungangnae hoi panuenae a tawn e hah, kahawi hno a sak e hno dawkvah a kamnue sak hanlah ao.
14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
Hatei, nangmae na lungthin thungvah, utnae, hoi ma han dueng kâkaramnae awm pawiteh, lawkkatang hah oun laihoi kâoup awh hanh.
15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but [is] earthly, sensual, devilish.
Hot patet e lungangnae teh lathueng lahoi ka tho e lungangnae nahoeh, talai lae kahrai koehoi ka tho e lungangnae doeh.
16 For where envying and strife [is], there [is] confusion and every evil work.
Utnae hoi ma hane dueng kâkaramnae tangkuem koevah, ruengruengtinae hoi kahawihoehe a cawngca doeh ouk kaawm.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, [and] easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
Hat nakunghai, lathueng lahoi ka tho e lungangnae teh hmaloe poung lah a thoung. Hahoi teh kâponae ao, lungmawngnae ao, dei a yawi, pahrennae, hawinae hoi akawi. Kapeknae banghai tawn hoeh. Kaisue hoeh.
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
Hahoi, roumnae kasaknaw ni lannae cati hah kahawicalah a patue awh.
